The Road – Cognition 1971 (USA, Psychedelic, Progressive Rock)
Building on their success, the band began work on their second album. This time, they approached the work more thoroughly. Original material was written and session musicians were brought in for the recording process. The sound became more complex (with excellent keyboard work, beautiful polyphony and melodies), and it could easily be classified as Psychedelic Rock with progressive elements. Thus, in 1971, the excellent album "Cognition" hit record stores. It seemed like a clear path to fame! But it didn't work out, and the band soon disbanded. The brothers returned to Buffalo, where Jerry began producing local bands, and Phil formed "The Singing Hudsons," which featured their two sisters. The Road briefly revived in 1981. They performed at New York's Surf Club In Bemus Point and then split up again.
