00:01My 600-lb Life star Sean Millican, who was known as the reality TV series' heaviest
00:05subject, has died days after being hospitalized.
00:09Millican passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019, according to a Facebook post by his
00:14father, Matt.
00:15Apparently, Millican's death was the unfortunate result of complications stemming from an infection.
00:21In his post, Matt told followers,
00:22Sean was admitted into the hospital a couple days prior because of an infection.
00:26Sunday, he was having problems with his breathing.
00:29They were able to resuscitate him, and a short time later, his heart stopped.
00:33Calling his son a good man, Matt added that he also had a good heart.
00:36Radar Online noted that Millican had been living alone in an apartment in Texas.
00:41He was just 29 years old.
00:43According to Us Weekly, Millican suffered a debilitating leg injury while in his senior
00:47year of high school, and as a result, he became bedridden.
00:50He had also struggled with overeating since childhood.
00:53In 2016, he made an appearance on the TLC show My 600-lb Life.
00:58All right, the scale said over the limit, so this scale goes only to 800 pounds.
01:05At the time, Millican was the heaviest person to ever be on the show.
01:08He first weighed in at 919 pounds and later weighed 1,003 pounds before he was admitted
01:14to the hospital and put on a controlled diet.
01:16You may be the heaviest person alive right now.
01:20This is not a good place to be.
01:22During his time on the series, Millican relocated from California to Houston, Texas in an effort
01:27to qualify for a weight-loss surgery.
01:29Before the move, which would take between 30 and 40 hours, Millican had admitted to the
01:33My 600-lb Life cameras that he wasn't, quote, 100 percent certain that was the right decision
01:38to make.
01:39If I fall, it would be near impossible for people to pick me up.
01:44Speaking to Radar Online, Millican's friend Ashley Boone shared that he would forever be
01:48thought of as a special guy.
01:50She added,
01:51He was definitely a loner and kept to himself, but once you knew him, he opened up and showed
01:55his witty side.
01:56He was extremely funny, artistic, and kind.
01:59Boone also opened up about Millican's health to Radar Online, revealing that he was greatly
02:03affected by his mother's death.
02:05She explained,
02:06I think it changed him because he had to become independent, which he'd never done before.
02:10She added that Millican depended on Social Security checks to pay for his living arrangements.
02:14Millican's mother once told My 600-lb Life that her son needed to be, quote, taken care
02:19of from head to toe.
02:20I miss being able to get up, move, go places.
02:24It's been eight years since I went out in public.
02:27Because of his inability to care for himself and to get his weight under control, Millican
02:31said that he worried he wouldn't be able to live past 30 years old.
02:34I'm a prisoner.
02:35All I want is out.
02:36And I never really thought my life would end up like this.
02:42In his Facebook post announcing Millican's passing, his father, Matt, said that his son,
02:46quote, lost the battle he'd been fighting with his weight, but is now free to be with
02:50his mom.
02:51He added,
02:52peace now.
02:53In my mind, a lot better place without the struggles we have with our bodies on Earth.
02:57Our thoughts are with Sean Millican's loved ones during this difficult time.
