00:00Erica Kirk says she prayed she was pregnant after her husband Charlie Kirk's life was taken
00:04and the internet did what it does best. It took a vulnerable moment and turned it into a full-blown
00:09conspiracy. Erica's comment has now morphed into online chatter claiming she's eight weeks pregnant
00:13and from there some users took a hard left turn dragging Vice President J.D. Vance into the
00:19speculation. Here's how the rumor mill took over. When Erica Kirk spoke to Megyn Kelly she opened up
00:24about something deeply personal that she and her late husband wanted four kids and Erica hoped
00:29she might already be expecting when he died. Comment sections started connecting dots that
00:34weren't there. One thread users wrote, how are you eight weeks pregnant but your husband passed 10
00:38weeks ago? And another stated, the math ain't mathing. Then came the clip that poured gasoline
00:43on the fire. Her emotional hug with Vice President J.D. Vance at a Turning Point USA event. What was
00:49meant as a moment of comfort became a viral freeze frame interpreted a dozen different ways. On X,
00:54one critic stated, the way Erica Kirk hugged J.D. Vance makes me think they're already together.
00:59Other users analyzed angles, hand placements and concluded, quote, J.D. Vance isn't the problem
01:05here, Erica is. In reference to other intimate hugs she has shared. And if that wasn't bad enough,
01:10right on cue, another piece fell into the rumor blender. Usha Vance appeared at a military event
01:15without her wedding ring. Three unrelated events, one massive internet spiral. Meanwhile, the real
01:21people involved have given very normal explanations. Usha's spokesperson stated she's, quote,
01:26a mother of three young children who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring
01:31sometimes. While Erica explains she touches the back of everyone's head when she hugs them,
01:36telling the critics, quote, if you want to take that out of context, go right ahead. Again,
01:40that to me shows that you need a hug more than anyone else. So both families have denied any
01:45wrongdoings, but that hasn't stopped the critics from talking. The most popular comment is, quote,
01:49congratulations to Erica Kirk on the pregnancy and to Usha Vance on the divorce, neither of which seem
01:55to actually be happening. But at least some are begging others to do some fact-checking before
01:59spreading harmful misinformation. Share your thoughts and follow us everywhere at What's Trending.
