00:00Dwayne Johnson Shares Disappointing Update on Jungle Cruise Sequel at Disney
00:05It doesn't look like Dwayne Johnson will be going on another Jungle Cruise.
00:09Johnson and The Smashing Machine co-star Emily Blunt spoke with Entertainment Weekly
00:14and shared a disappointing update on a sequel to their 2021 movie Jungle Cruise.
00:20The film earned $220 million at the box office, despite opening right after the COVID-19 pandemic.
00:26But it was a box office disappointment considering its reported $200 million budget.
00:32Because of that, Johnson and Blunt are doubtful that a sequel will happen.
00:36I don't think so, Johnson and Blunt both said to EW's The Awardist podcast host Gerard Hall.
00:42I think when Disney came under new leadership, they just shifted coming out of COVID, Johnson explained.
00:48COVID shifted our business in a lot of ways.
00:51I think they looked at that property and thought,
00:53We did it once, not sure if we should revisit it again, despite whether or not our chemistry was great.
01:00They did not want to set sail again, and that's fine, Blunt added.
01:04Johnson and Blunt will team up again in an untitled drama directed by Martin Scorsese.
01:09Johnson recently started filming Jumanji 3 and has another film with Benny Safdie, Lizard Music, in the works.
