Aurthur Conti tells THR at the London premiere of 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' what it was like to be directed by Tim Burton in such a beloved film series.

00:00Tell us about that moment you got that call and you'd landed this role.

00:04Yeah, I screamed. It was crazy. I found out, first of all, on April Fool's Day.

00:09So I thought it was a joke. I thought it was a really mean joke for a second.

00:14But I realised it wasn't. And then I just screamed and I had to...

00:18I called my mum, who's here, called my mum and my dad.

00:23And I had to go for a run immediately because I was so much...

00:29It was just an indescribable feeling. It was crazy.

00:33And you're going to get asked this question a lot, I'm sure,

00:35but can you provide some sort of insight into what it's like being on a Tim Burton set and watching him at work?

00:40Watching him at work. I mean, he's a maestro. He really is.

00:45He runs such a tight ship, but he's so easy going at the same time.

00:50He really gives you a lot of free reign as an actor, which is nice.

00:54And you kind of feel like you can try stuff out and try different things.

00:58It's very creatively rewarding.

01:04And he's amazing. He's so efficient.

01:08Everything was very quick and efficient.

01:10And that can be scary because on the first film I'm like,

01:12oh, can I do that another 20 times?

01:14But he was right to cut it when he did.

01:18Do you have a favourite day from set?

01:22I do. I do, yes.

01:26Yeah, my favourite one... I don't want to give this stuff away.

01:31If I describe what happened on my favourite day...

01:34You're without spoilers.

01:35Yeah, I'm not sure I can. I'm genuinely not sure I can.

01:41I think of another one. The first day was pretty cool.

01:44I mean, just getting used to it and my first scene on camera, I mean, I was so nervous.

01:49It was a very small scene, but it was just like one or two lines, but I was just like rigid.

01:55I was terrified.

01:56But I kept looking down.

01:58I kept trying so hard not to look at the camera that I was just looking at the floor the whole time.

02:01So that's not my favourite day. That's one of the days.

02:06But in a way that was the most, you know, will stay with me the most the first day.
