Deep in the Kumrat Valley, where the road ends at Dojanga, the wilderness truly begins. During my trip in July 2025, I was lucky enough to spot this beautiful male Yellow-breasted Greenfinch (Himalayan Greenfinch) foraging in the high-altitude meadows.
About this Bird: The Yellow-breasted Greenfinch (Chloris spinoides) is a stunning songbird native to the Himalayas. Unlike the common greenfinch, it sports a striking high-contrast "bandit mask" and vibrant yellow wing bars. In summer, they migrate up to 8,000+ feet to breed in cool pine forests like those found here in Upper Dir.
📍 Location: Dojanga, Kumrat Valley, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. 🗓️ Date: July 2025
