00:00Champions England are in Abu Dhabi and will be keen to keep their run of good
00:04form going after demolishing the West Indies in their opening game of the
00:09tournament. While Bangladesh are looking to bounce back after dropping a
00:13heartbreaker to Sri Lanka first up in Sharjah. It's England versus Bangladesh
00:20and it's live.
00:30The victorious Pakistan team. Hollywood and his team have won the world 2020 final.
00:36The winners West Indies.
00:40Sri Lanka, the new champions.
00:44Carlos Bradwick, remember the name.
00:48Live the game, love the game.
00:56It's England against Bangladesh from the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
01:02They've gone in with Sharif Ruslam, the left-arm Seema. Otherwise they looked pretty
01:06settled, especially the top order. They'll be hoping that Naeem Sheikh, Muhammad Naeem Sheikh
01:10are among the runs and so is Mr. Dependable Mushfiq Quraim. I think this is a good side
01:15and they would be hoping that they can challenge England.
01:19Nasser, your boys? Yeah, unchanged. No surprise there. The only thing they were waiting for
01:24was the fitness of Mark Wood. He had that injury to his ankle. It had been injected the day before
01:29the West Indies game. They're just giving him a bit more time, maybe ready for the third game
01:34in the group. They're unchanged. There's a lot of batting and a dynamic bowling attack
01:38even without Archer, Stokes, Curran and Wood. That's still a pretty good bowling attack.
01:44Looks a decent surface. Here's Moeen Ali.
01:49And that's just a little bit of spin there for him as well. There's a bit of protection today
01:54for all the spinners. Three or four from Bangladesh. A couple plus Liam Livingstone
01:59for England. It's not a bad ground to bowl on with a bit of turn off the surface and big boundaries.
02:05Once you leave the answer open because it's only one fielder in front of the left hander,
02:16so easy pickings. So initially what both these batsmen would be looking forward to
02:21is just getting into some side of some sort of rhythm, picking up singles, rotation of strike.
02:27important, so very important. You really don't want to play duck deliveries. Not too many.
02:38Lovely shot. First boundary of the innings. And smart use of the feet down the pitch
02:45and a way over beyond Moeen Ali to the far side.
02:50Batsmen from Boundary do enjoy batting especially of the swim. This is really lovely use of the feet
02:57from Litton Komar Daaz. That's on top of it and hidden over the ball is it for a boundary. An early boundary.
03:11He's coming again and it's the same result. So a different challenge here for Moeen Ali
03:17who concedes two boundaries in his opening over. Ten for none. Smash that ball through extra cover.
03:23The first one went straight. But the footwork exceptional. And they're on strike now with a slip.
03:32Well that's one of the spots that they'll be eyeing. There's a big gap between the fielder at mid on
03:38mid on and square leg who's also inside the circle.
03:44So anything pitched in the middle. A bit fuller. And so looking to play a big shot.
03:50Just place it in the gap and look to pick up a single. An easy single.
03:56So maybe that single deliberate to try and get the match up right for Bangladesh with the right-handed
04:05Litton Daaz facing up to Moeen. Top edge. And in the air. And should be taken. And is taken.
04:15Safe catch out at deep square leg. Litton Daaz looking to be ultra-aggressive against the off-spin of Moeen Ali.
04:24But he's perished for nine.
04:27In the air.
04:28It looked like he wanted to play shot.
04:37Of each and every delivery in that previous way from Chris turning to take the play.
04:39Some bit aggressive shot. Just getting underneath it. And straight forward catch to the living stone.
04:45He departs.
04:49Successor for Moeen Ali in England.
04:52He goes for nine. Bangladesh, 14 forward.
04:55on striker's end and he's going to hold out to mid on that is a tame dismissal
05:01and it is another wicket for Moeen Ali who is enjoying himself with the new
05:06ball in this T20 World Cup
05:12Naeem Sheik gone for five
05:16now just a poor shot he was going down the wicket and nothing in the end just loves it quite nicely
05:26it's straight to be on where Chris works takes an easy catch after giving it ten runs in the first
05:33over he's come back strongly Moeen Ali and he's picked up a second wicket Naeem Sheik goes for
05:38five Bangladesh in a spot of bother 14 for two to probably nobody's surprise
05:46he's climbed up to number one now in the all-rounder list in T20 International
05:54overtaking Muhammad Nabi Shaqebal Hassan 192 points for the fantasy league right at the top
06:16Yeah so mo rgan deciding to give mo and alia third over when he got through three against West Indies
06:27the other day in the power play that was only the second time. He had done that in T20 so this is
06:33following a very similar pattern.
06:34A similar pattern.
06:38Shaqib tries to give himself room.
06:40Moeen follows him.
06:46He's picked up two wickets in the previous over,
06:49and the left-hander on strike. Why not?
06:53Yeah, and given the balance of England's side,
06:55it means they've got to get through four overs
06:57between Moeen Ali and or Liam Livingston
06:59so if he can get them out of the way, it's a huge bonus,
07:02and Moeen Ali is responding to the responsibility
07:06that Owen Morgan has lumped on his shoulders with the new ball,
07:09bowling a good, tight line,
07:11picking up vital wickets as well in the power play.
07:16Oh!
07:25Bravo, Moeen!
07:32Good shot down the ground.
07:39Don't think he quite got all of it, but hit it well enough,
07:42and it's a much-needed boundary for Bangladesh
07:44to end the fifth over there, 24 for two.
07:47Fast delivery of the third over from Moeen Ali.
07:52And he got hit back over his head.
07:54The power play.
08:08Yeah, they might keep Moeen Ali on if the left-hander's on strike.
08:12Remember, they'll be out of the power play after this over,
08:15so there's plenty of options.
08:17Obviously, the pace of Timal Mills as well.
08:19Michael Atherton made the excellent point
08:22of if you can get through Moeen Ali
08:24then your five-man attack plus Livingston becomes plenty.
08:29Splice should be gone, is it Rashid?
08:46Oh, it is, what a catch out of Rashid!
08:49Diving back over his shoulder, brilliant grab from Rashid.
08:53Didn't get the ball as yet.
09:01Shaqib goes for four.
09:06Chris works.
09:10Just hitting that good length.
09:12Shaqib trying to walk it around.
09:15As Adnassu said, brilliant catch.
09:18He's not even contributed with the ball yet,
09:21but he's already into the action.
09:27Team-mates knows how important that wicket is.
09:30Shaqib goes.
09:32Bunga is 26 of three.
09:34I don't know whether to stick or twist.
09:36He's going to twist.
09:37Oh, what an effort!
09:39Tipped over the bar.
09:44Brilliant effort, was it too?
09:46Timal Mills saved the boundary.
09:50Almost had another moment of brilliance there.
09:55Paul Collingwood would be smiling with that effort.
10:02Yeah, exactly how Collingwood caught one at backward point.
10:06I think it was Matty Hayden somewhere, the oval or something.
10:09Went with his reverse hand, nearly got there.
10:13You could see this team.
10:26As you look at the replay here.
10:30Almost.
10:31It's over, extra cover, not timed.
10:47It will go towards long off.
10:49Miss England side Nass thinking back from 2016 World Cup.
11:00The last...
11:01They've won six out of the last 70, 20 matches in the World Cup.
11:06Finds the fielder.
11:07Keep finding the fielder.
11:08Keep finding the fielder, Bangladesh.
11:0930 for three.
11:10Nicely down to third.
11:11It will be a couple.
11:12Talking of Paul Collingwood.
11:13He's here.
11:14He's assistant coach with the team.
11:15Brilliant fielder.
11:16Wasn't the oval I was talking about.
11:17We have got some footage from Barbados.
11:19Brilliant.
11:20Collingwood making no mistake.
11:21That's beautifully ball.
11:22Brilliant.
11:23Collingwood making no mistake.
11:24That's beautifully balled.
11:25That's the first one.
11:26It will be a third.
11:27It will be a third.
11:28It will be a couple.
11:29Talking of Paul Collingwood.
11:30He's here.
11:31He's assistant coach with the team.
11:32Brilliant fielder.
11:33Wasn't the oval I was talking about.
11:34We have got some footage from Barbados.
11:36Brilliant.
11:38Collingwood making no mistake.
11:41That's beautifully balled.
11:47That was 2010.
11:53The World Cup that England won.
11:55In Barbados.
11:57Beating Australia in the final.
11:59A brilliant fielder Paul Collingwood.
12:01That is the card.
12:07147 for six.
12:09Peterson was man of the tournament.
12:1147 in 31.
12:13That was the final.
12:15And beating the old enemy Australia in Bridgetown.
12:19And I could tell you they look really good.
12:23To win it this year again.
12:25To win it this year again.
12:27To end of the bat.
12:29That will go away for four.
12:30Much needed boundary.
12:31For Bangladesh.
12:33To get in the edge there.
12:37Just getting the edge there.
12:41He's joining.
12:45Nothing wrong there.
12:4714 footer.
12:49What do you reckon?
13:03What would you be saying to your team?
13:05If you lose three in the power play.
13:07The stats say you're up against it.
13:08Should they go hard?
13:09Should they play the opposition?
13:11As in they need to get a lot more runs against England.
13:13Yeah, but in order to get the runs you need to bat in partnerships.
13:17We've seen these guys.
13:19Good players of spin.
13:20You target one bowler where you could get a hold of.
13:23And try to up the tempo against that bowler.
13:25But first you need to get yourself in.
13:26So these two experienced guys.
13:27Bat some balls.
13:28Rotate it.
13:29Rotate the strike.
13:30And when the opportunity presents itself to score.
13:32Make sure you capitalize on it.
13:33It's going to get the runs.
13:34It's going to get the runs.
13:35You need to bat in partnerships.
13:36We've seen these guys.
13:37Good players of spin.
13:38You target one bowler where you could get.
13:39Get a hold of.
13:40And try to up the tempo against that bowler.
13:42But first you need to get yourself in.
13:43So these two experienced guys.
13:45Bat some balls.
13:46Rotate it.
13:47Rotate the strike.
13:48And when the opportunity presents itself to score.
13:53Make sure you capitalize on it.
13:58Slipping for Mamadoula.
14:00There's a man on the reverse for him.
14:02He's already tried one.
14:03Down the ground.
14:04Hits it back over Rashid's head for four.
14:06Much needed boundary.
14:08Aggression from the Bangladesh skipper.
14:12Something like that, Nas.
14:15When the opportunity presents itself.
14:17Rashid just giving that ball some air.
14:20Mamadoula.
14:22Using his feet.
14:24Sitting it back over his head.
14:26No mistake delay.
14:27No mistake delay.
14:36Both of these lads.
14:37Very good players of spin.
14:38Mamadoula hits down the ground as we've just seen.
14:41Nushfake Rahim is a sweeper.
14:43Likes the sweep.
14:44So they complement each other well.
14:47It's short to boundary straight.
14:49It's a massive hit.
14:50Leg side.
14:51So they're better off going straight or over extra if they want.
14:54The other thing you just have to bear in mind is the top edge.
15:01We saw that with the first wicket from Moeen Ali.
15:04There's a bit of bounce here at Abu Dhabi.
15:07So just a top edge sweep.
15:09Be careful.
15:10No run.
15:11Come back from Rashid after the boundary.
15:1249 for three.
15:13Oh close.
15:14Close.
15:15They're going to have a look.
15:16Did he get in?
15:17Had all three stumps to aim at and he hit them.
15:18Rahim doesn't seem too concerned.
15:19TV Umpire 2 director.
15:20We have a umpire review for a runout.
15:22Can I see you see the right?
15:23No.
15:24No run.
15:25No running back from Rashid after the boundary.
15:2649 for three.
15:29Oh close.
15:31Close.
15:32They're going to have a look.
15:33Did he get in?
15:36At all three stumps to aim at and he hit them.
15:41Rahim doesn't seem too concerned.
15:42TV Umpire 2 director, we have a umpire review for a runout.
15:47review for a run-out. Can I see your side-on angle, please?
15:58Okay, just go back, go back.
16:02Okay, yep, I've made my decision.
16:17Yeah, just not out. A bit of fielding from the England captain.
16:31That's his variation, the slow ball at the back of the hand.
16:38That's what Timo Mills will do.
16:42Very his pace.
16:46He could bowl up to 90 miles per hour.
16:49But this one there, you could see him put in the back of the hand.
16:54Slow ball, something he's really been great at.
17:01Saw him do it really well for the Braves in the 100.
17:06They went on to win that competition.
17:11Pulled nicely, but off the splice to the bat, so it won't go away for four.
17:17Both mid-wicket and Long Long give chase.
17:20It's Long Long that wins, Mo and Ali.
17:22He's smart with his lengths here at Timo Mills.
17:31Both batters, you'll see how far, even from the view up from above, he's sitting back in his crease.
17:36Now he spoke earlier in the week about how in training they've been told to bowl err on the side of short here in the UAE.
17:45But both batters sitting deep in their crease, look, both feet virtually, and then he'll move further back.
17:51They're waiting for that short ball.
17:52Right back on his stumps there.
18:00Right back. Watch him start there, and they're expecting it short.
18:16Fuller delivery. Often the slower ball is the fuller delivery.
18:24Up and over. It's a lovely shot. It really is. He knew exactly what he was doing there.
18:30Just going to have to be careful with the short ball. They're expecting it, and that is very smart batting.
18:36Very smart indeed. It's like he was anticipating it. That's one of his go-to shots when there's pace on the ball.
18:50Just guiding it literally over the keeper's head.
19:09Good partnership building up here so far.
19:14It's a fast backward point. It'll only be a couple. It shouldn't be a four, but that's a good over for Bangladesh.
19:3211 from it. Halfway through the innings, it's 60 for three.
19:36Big shout. Huge shout from Livingston. The ball will go off to the fence.
19:48And they must decide first whether they want to check the decision, and they do. We're going upstairs.
19:55Flat line. Flat line. It's going past the bat, and there's a flat line. Nothing until it hits the pad.
20:02So I'm pitching in line, impact in line, and hitting the wickets.
20:08I'll be going back on to Nitton. Nitton, it's three reds, so you'll be changing your decision to out your on-screen now signal now.
20:17There's the confirmation. Happy days for England. The wickets keep coming.
20:22The wickets keep coming. And it's their spinners who continue to do damage.
20:27Mushfika Rahim gone.
20:30Collie. Pretty good batter Collie.
20:34England continuing with Livingston. Yeah, you'll see he'll bowl his leggies to the right-handers.
20:38And then now when the left-hander comes on strike, he'll turn to offspin.
20:42Offspin. It's a key thing for Morgan to have.
20:47A bowler that's able to change it up and do something different.
20:54They're all the sides so keen to have somebody you can bet in the top six and do a job like this.
20:59As he played.
21:03And placed.
21:05Four runs.
21:09Great shot now.
21:10I just said that he's in a bowl of spin. He continued with the leggy.
21:14Got that one short. Livingston can do that.
21:18Can take you good wickets too, but that one's just dropping a little bit short.
21:22Afif able to lean onto the back foot and cut it away for the four.
21:25Another reverse sweep attempt here.
21:47I'm missing it completely, but also missing it.
21:51Just scrambling through for a little bye.
22:01Take him off. Take him off. Take him off.
22:02Oh dear. Oh no.
22:04Oh.
22:06Oh well. Never run on the midfield they say.
22:10Well he didn't check with his partner, did he?
22:13Afif just turned and was on his way.
22:16And the skipper turned around and said, well, no, he's got the ball.
22:21Selling his mate down the river essentially.
22:25Climberwell's good throw.
22:27Under pressure.
22:29Too late.
22:31Got a goal.
22:33Flo.
22:34Livingston will bowl the third is bowling well.
22:39Got a wicket already much happening when he's got ball in hand.
22:45And the batter's not looking to take one, too.
22:48In that delivery.
22:52Again, just going to look at the next two overs or so just to consolidate get themselves into the game again.
22:57Needs a partner, Mamadullah, someone to work with him, someone to allow him to go to work as well because running out of overs here at the current rate, they'll only get to 113.
23:13They need to somehow try and strike some blows.
23:18And he can strike him. It's a big field mind.
23:20Yeah, I think after this partnership, you looking like you're going to start drifting into the bowlers.
23:33So Mamadullah is going to have to push through for the next five and a half overs here.
23:36So Mamadullah is going to have to push through for the next five and a half overs here if Bangladesh are going to put on any kind of score.
23:51Thinking two. Probably hit it too well.
23:55Yeah, just a single.
23:58Eight and over.
23:59One, two, six.
24:04One, two, six. One hit away from being what's been par so far.
24:09But you'd think they'd need a few runs more.
24:13No, two, six.
24:37Out.
24:38Livingston, again.
24:40yeah he was gonna go he was gonna look to try and hit some blows hit some out
24:46the ground not to be Mamadoula gone for 19 yeah Mamadoula thinking I have to
24:56take on the part-timer yeah I need to find runs I need to put on a score to
25:02put England under pressure golden arm of Livingston picking up another England
25:08wicket Mamadoula has gone for 19 of 24 in Bangladesh or 83 for six edge fine but
25:19Morgan's got his third man fine but not quite fine enough so that is a valuable
25:25boundary for Bangladesh just their eighth of the innings they're 90 for six
25:31outside a chair third man a little bit too wide it's gone fine down the ground and
25:39over extra cover now is the time and Mehdi Hassan has just got to give it a go here
25:46for Bangladesh they are 97 for six it's a very good option when he was looking at
25:52the field so what was his option go over the top of the entry on the offside good
25:58use of the feed getting to the pitch of the delivery and hitting it over the top
26:02the top of the field for another boundary it's a good-looking shot for Mahdi Hassan
26:07yeah he's going to the shorter side when he's looking to hit
26:28with the spin over the offside it's slightly short that way
26:33only one I suspect Morgan's got his fielders out in the deep a good 20 yards
26:42and gone
26:46tame end for Mehdi Hassan smile on the face of Tamal Mills and for England who now find
26:54themselves in a dominant position Bangladesh 98 for seven Mehdi gone for 11
26:59trying to take that away from the feeler feeling inside the circle at short find didn't have enough
27:12legs it was a slower delivery and just loops up trying to scoop finds the
27:18fielder
27:19Mills picks up another wicket Bangladesh in more trouble they lose Mehdi Hassan for 11
27:25it's 98 for seven
27:27this is the end of Mehdi he's trying to scoop it over fine leg but chose the wrong ball to do so
27:42it was a slower ball out of the back of the hand from Tamal Mills and therefore no pace to work with
27:48and a very simple catch to Chris Wokes at short find leg
27:52and they just kept losing wickets at regular intervals and it hurts Bangladesh
28:06it's that slower ball again from Mills
28:13single gets the hundred on the board but I think it's that catch by Adil Rashid which really changed the things in favour of England especially when he saw that
28:28that Shakib Alassan was the one brilliant 51 deliveries for the second 50 and really dented the hopes of the top order
28:38what a catch that was at us
28:40yeah a number of good ones that we've seen from England in this tournament so far
28:44Moeen took a very good one against West Indies
28:46there's a chance for another here no just short
28:52of Wokes coming in from third man
28:55don't think it carried
28:58I reckon the best catch we've seen those Devon Conway last night
29:06that was a fantastic catch
29:08at long off this is Wokes coming in now
29:11now short of deep mid wicket Jason Roy was coming in quickly they're a long way off the edge
29:21out on the leg side because that is a very long boundary out there it's about 77 meters
29:26so Morgan has his deep fielders a long way in about what 15 20 yards in from the edge
29:33swung away could this be the first six of the innings it is
29:47we've had to wait a long long time for it two balls into the 19th over but
29:54my Bangladesh need a few more
29:56it comes from the back of a nasa mama it was in the slot but he still had to hit it nicely
30:06it was a blasted it away over square leg for the maximum
30:11they need few more
30:13he's looking for that short side and he gets it over again
30:19as much as Adil Rashid will bowl his googlers and try and push it wide
30:26this is smart cricket from nasa I'm going to the short side and much needed sixes for
30:31Bangladesh
30:33targeting the onside square of the wicket
30:36and it's a huge door 67 meter goes the distance that's the second six from the
30:43bad of nasa member in the same over from Adil Rashid
30:54maybe a
30:56too little too late from a Bangladesh perspective but they are welcome sixes
31:01nonetheless 115 for seven now
31:07cuts one away this time I think he was initially thinking about that short side again but it was so wide
31:14he changed his mind and carved it away for four good over
31:17for Bangladesh 119 for seven
31:20short and he cut that away
31:25finds the gap finds the boundary
31:28no don't think there was a tickle
31:35no don't think there was a tickle
31:37polite enquiry from
31:38Tim L Mills but it's been a terrific
31:40there's a spike as it goes past the glove
31:43so we will be going back on field to Langdon
31:47to overturn his decision
31:50Langdon there's a spike as it's on the glove there
31:53so let's touch his glove you'll be able to turn your decision to out you're on screen now signal name
31:59replay suggested the ball may have just brushed the glove it was an unusual kind of spike it was a kind of low flatlining spike rather than a sharp spike with the umpire third umpire
32:11balding brilliant from tamal mills what a good last over this has been from him
32:18showing his whole range of skills really the slow balls out of the back of the hand
32:23the fast short pitchers that he can bowl and then a killer yorker
32:27to complete the innings bangladesh finish 124 for nine
32:33they'll want to do damage as well shaki
32:39slow but he waited roy waited and changed the shot
32:45got it away for four what a start
32:48yeah whatever type of bowler you are you cannot be wide
32:51to shake to jason roy and that's exactly what shaki was
32:55got a bowl at the stumps
33:01huge shout nope says umpire has said it
33:08has spoken about with mr fizzur that he's just started to get that ball swinging back in
33:19otis gibson working hard with him to get that shape we saw it with shaheen shah fridi the other night
33:25nice he played stroke down the ground and it'll go for four
33:40jason roy
33:43yeah a bit floaty wasn't it floaty half holly we spoke to chris wokes in the interval about you have to
33:49bowl a heavy length little cutter got so many varieties that wasn't a right option there when
33:59he's got it swinging go to those later
34:19the next team because yeah they decided they're going to go that route and they've gone that route
34:38stuck to their guns and whoever they come up against should it allow sometimes should it not
34:45they go at it england it was bangladesh in the 2015 world cup that knocked him out in adelaide
34:55and that brought about the change in policy from england morgan
35:00changed the mindset and they've not looked back since either in 50 over cricket or this format
35:05it was always the question of thinking thinking about them as a side coming to these conditions how
35:19they would adjust whether they're to adjust adequately to this point their batting hasn't really been tested to be
35:27fair shot wonderful use of the feet and what a strike from Josh Butler six runs so much for
35:44the issues against left arm spin boys stroked a few through the offside and Butler has just
35:50smashed left arm spin straight back over his head for six
36:07yeah like the way that even in the previous game where they won and you get they're going to win
36:13the game but net run rate addressed right from the beginning it also keeps them I suppose
36:20in practice the way that they will approach games is exactly this way whether they're chasing 55 or
36:28125 back for a second comfortable enough
36:42all pretty comfortable to this point for England
36:52looking at the way Bangladesh have gone with the seamers I'm pretty surprised there's no slip and
37:00a real short balls either even in putting the men back and it makes one think it's a kind of defensive
37:09mindset but can't can't afford that with 124 on the board need to attack and try and get wickets
37:14oh harsh it's been sloppy isn't it was sloppy with the bat some of the shot selection then the running
37:25they could have had three runouts in three deliveries the way they were running and now this start with
37:30the ball Shakiba built bit floaty at one end he's been smashed at the other end left arm as haven't got
37:36their line right not good enough from Bangladesh their fans expect better than this
37:41yep talking about the running between the wickets fielding and running between the wickets awfully an
38:00indicator where the team are look at this
38:10three balls in a row they could have had three runouts
38:21man when it goes bad
38:28it's gotten a gap got it over got it before all England huge difference between the two sides Chris
38:38Silverwood and his team the plans to my mills mentioned it in the last game Chris woke said on
38:43interview we ball back of a length heavy lengths to paste uneven they'd seen it in the IPL do not
38:51pitch it up Bangladesh continue to pitch it up they continue to get battered
38:56the other thing Tommy with bowling back of a length just the ground dimensions it's quite a big hit square
39:13here no if anything it's slightly shorter to the right at the moment but especially from the other
39:21end you don't want to be pulling look really down the ground 82 meters one side but don't want to be
39:28pitching it up too much especially hitting square from the other end yeah it just looks a defensive
39:38mindset to me and watching the left armors ball try and stay straight try and just hit a length
39:44that's well play
39:47that's well play
39:49that's well play
39:50mamadula with the fielding there
39:51mamadula with the fielding there
39:55the England very comfortable
39:58another game on
40:00after this one
40:01that's the Scotland side arriving
40:03One side arriving.
40:09They too need to shake off a big defeat.
40:27A single to finish.
40:2937 without loss.
40:36Out.
40:37Well taken.
40:41There's the wicket they needed.
40:44Yeah, Butler was trying to go over extra cover.
40:47Long off was back.
40:48Remember, we're still in the power play.
40:51But he found Long off.
40:52Butler goes for 18.
40:58It was a remarkable shot actually.
40:59It was almost off the back foot.
41:01It was off the back foot.
41:03And it just stuck in the pitch a little bit.
41:06And he found Long off off the back foot.
41:09Good off the toe of the bat.
41:11Good catch.
41:12Running round.
41:13And Bangladesh needed that.
41:17Danger man.
41:18Butler goes run a ball.
41:1918.
41:2039 for one.
41:24Fizz likes it.
41:25But a shake of the head.
41:27Umpire doesn't.
41:32And few.
41:33It's very close to the back.
41:35But it's also he's hitting his pad as well.
41:37So.
41:38We'll go to.
41:39And roll it again a few times for me.
41:42Yep.
41:43There's nothing on ultra edge right now.
41:45Signal now.
41:46That's a good decision.
41:47There's a reason Jason Roy wasn't looking unduly perturbed.
41:49Because the back clearly hit the pad.
41:51Makes it a little more difficult to.
41:52Gather speed off the.
41:54Off the deck.
41:55Bola straying into the leg side there.
41:57Easy shot for Jason Roy as he just flicks off his legs for four.
42:06Yeah he's looked in good touch.
42:08I suspect Jason Roy when he was visualizing.
42:12This innings ahead of the game would have.
42:14Stealed himself for facing a lot of left arm spin.
42:18It's been a little bit of his Achilles heel at the start of a.
42:24T20 match in the power play and Sri Lanka have two left.
42:28Bangladesh have two left arm spinners of course.
42:31But he's looked in good touch so far.
42:3423 from 15.
42:41It's gone fine and there's a big shout from the fizz.
42:44But the wicket keeper has gone down the leg side.
42:46It looks as though it pitched outside.
42:48Leg stumped.
42:52Roy down the ground.
42:54Not sure that he's hit it perfectly.
42:56But just well enough.
43:00Naeem Sheik was coming round at long on and just palmed it.
43:04Jason Roy not getting everything onto this.
43:14Naeem coming around.
43:15If he had taken that would have been a wonderful catch if he had taken it.
43:18But I think he's momentum just forcing him over the boundary.
43:21Best he could have done was get a good hand on it.
43:23Some are throw it back into the field.
43:25Lovely.
43:27There's a bit of pace on the ball.
43:32I mentioned when he first came into the attack that he balls very quickly.
43:36Meherty.
43:37And he's just used the pace of the ball.
43:40Jason Roy on this occasion to carve it away behind square on the offside.
43:44Roy just showing how good he is.
43:52Six down the ground and then the next ball flatter onto the back foot.
43:56And cutting it behind point for four.
43:58Life in the Maldives at the moment on half term.
44:04Nicely played.
44:05Milan, who will be keen just to show everybody that he's got a bit of power of his own.
44:13Having been slipped down the order in that game against West Indies,
44:16he'll be keen to show that he too can get things off to a flyer.
44:23Nice little touch there.
44:24Some of the reverse sweeps that we've seen attempted today have resulted in wickets.
44:28Cruising here, England.
44:3571 for one.
44:38Chasing a modest target.
44:41Under no pressure.
44:48That's Milan's game, really.
44:49He looks to give himself a bit of room.
44:51He's very, very strong through extra cover and through cover.
44:58And England not having to try and do anything, really.
45:11Bangladesh missing their length quite often and allowing a bad ball or two every over.
45:16Doesn't help when you bowl wide down the leg side too.
45:19That just doesn't build any pressure.
45:23That is one area that Roy's made a massive improvement.
45:26His ability to sweep and reverse sweep against spin.
45:29He's been working really hard on his game against spin
45:33because he knows that opposition teams, especially in this part of the world,
45:37are going to open with spin against him.
45:47Good shot there by Jason Roy.
45:48Good fielding on the boundary too.
45:50Good shot there by Jason Roy.
45:54Gets away with a full toss.
45:55Roy picks out the man at deep square.
45:57Come on, then, of the teams you've seen.
45:58Who do you fancy for the tournament?
45:59Who do you like so far?
46:01I think Pakistan.
46:02I like Pakistan.
46:03I like the energy that they bring to you.
46:05They're the one team that really looks like they're not just having fun,
46:09there's something about their cricket away from the cricket
46:11that looks really catchy and you are drawn to.
46:15And then the way that they're going about their business
46:17on the field is just, it's pretty good right now.
46:20They've got the bowlers, they've got the batters,
46:21they've got the spinners, and they're fielding well.
46:24Yeah, they are sharp in the field in the two games
46:26that we've seen, and a wonderfully varied attack.
46:39Just having a look at Jason Roy,
46:44his strike rates against pace and spin.
46:50Great starter in the first six overs,
46:51especially when the seamers are bowling.
46:57Yeah, it was noticeable how his strike rate
46:59drops off against spin that turns away from him,
47:03and that's where he's been looking to improve, actually.
47:06And the reverse sweep has been a big part of that improvement.
47:36young man who has been a big part of that improvement.
47:38Oh!
47:47Slight groan from Roy who was looking to
47:49groan from Roy who was looking to find a gap over X recovery.
47:52He's recovering.
47:53Just about sums up Bangladesh's day so far.
48:01Miss Field, England cruising, 90 for one, halfway through, and drinks.
48:06You need...
48:09Beautiful shot.
48:13What a shot to bring up 50.
48:16Jason Roy, the second 50 in T20 World Cups.
48:23And it's batting beautifully at the top of the order for England.
48:27Important, look at that strike rate.
48:33Dangerous and brutal.
48:39Again, you just saw that length.
48:44They just spoke about the Seymour's ball into full.
48:48Also, the spinners.
48:50Right into the slot.
48:56Roy doesn't miss out.
49:01Yeah, commits, as do all these England batsmen who are...
49:05...who are aggressive.
49:08They commit to the shot once they're looking to go big.
49:11And they leave nothing in the locker.
49:21What a shot.
49:23What a shot.
49:25It's gone all the way too.
49:26Gone for six.
49:27It's gone all the way too.
49:28It's gone all the way too.
49:29Wow.
49:30I'll say, wow, as well.
49:33Jason Roy, total control.
49:36Just getting inside the line.
49:39It's like a stand-up paddle.
49:43All the way.
49:47Over fine leg.
49:49Morgan is happy.
49:50Yeah, it should all happen pretty quickly from here.
49:59He'll make sure of it, Jason Roy, or he'll certainly try.
50:06Yeah, he'll keep playing shots.
50:08Look at that for a shot where he just times the ball and it goes off to the fence pretty quickly.
50:23And interspersed are some of the ones where he is absolutely lashing it like that.
50:31And he's got them all.
50:32And there's a difficult customer if you don't hit your lengths.
50:42All the while, Milan happy to just feed him.
50:47Off you go.
50:49It's your show again, Jason.
50:53Yeah, but they look like a really relaxed unit.
50:56Reminds me of my squad.
50:59That's the only time I get to talk about them in a positive manner.
51:02So far, this World Cup, just being so relaxed when you know your teammates got it under control.
51:09That's what I'm seeing in this England dressing room.
51:21Taken.
51:21Well done.
51:23Excellent work, Dad.
51:24Having to run in with the catch dying.
51:27And continue to go.
51:37Roy is gone now.
51:3961 from 38.
51:46Just trying to go on the offside this time.
51:51A brilliant catch.
51:52Justin Roy wouldn't continue all the way to the end.
52:03He goes England 112 for two.
52:11It's a big middle.
52:14It's right out the middle.
52:15And the hand prevents it getting to the fence.
52:18A couple to finish off.
52:24Besto strikes me as a sort of cricketer that will try and finish this in a hurry.
52:31Bangladesh very disappointing today.
52:33I thought against Sri Lanka they played really well.
52:36And made a couple of drop catches and one or two tactical errors.
52:40But today there hasn't been the aggression, the passion, the skill.
52:44Very disappointing.
52:45Very limp performance from them.
52:47And would have turned up in this tournament with high expectation.
52:55Because of the surfaces.
52:56Because their record.
52:58Whether it's at home.
52:59And the last little while has been decent.
53:01They've done well with their spinners and their batsmen.
53:04Just getting them to some sort of score.
53:07Putting teams under pressure.
53:11Up over.
53:12Extra cover.
53:13That's four.
53:14England just one hit away now.
53:17Five needed.
53:22Too short.
53:24Wide as well.
53:26And Milan gets one that he can put away.
53:32Resigned look at that from Madula.
53:44Just bounced up.
54:04That's a couple of times in the last over.
54:06Shakib got one that bounced on him.
54:09Up and there as well.
54:10Looking into the sun.
54:16I think he wore it in the face at one stage there.
54:19On the bounce.
54:29It's horrible.
54:30You're already taking a bit of a beating.
54:32There you go.
54:34It is in the face.
54:35About four needed.
54:37Johnny Bairstow is going to try and finish it in style.
54:41Nope.
54:42Just knocks it.
54:43He'll keep the strike.
54:45Three needed.
54:46Six overs to go.
54:47One.
54:47Twenty-two for two.
54:51Pulled hard.
54:53And then pulled away.
54:54And that will do nicely.
54:56Four for Bairstow.
54:57Four for England.
54:58A win from England.
54:59They are two from two.
55:01And they are playing like the number one ranked side in T20 cricket in the world.
55:07Clinical, professional, outstanding performance.
55:10England two from two.
55:15Bangladesh nought from two.
55:19Bangladesh batting first.
55:21You can discuss that as well.
55:22A hundred and twenty-four for nine.
55:25Top score.
55:26Mushvika with twenty-nine.
55:28And in reply.
55:29England a hundred and twenty-six for two.
55:32Jason Roy.
55:33Sixty-one not out.
55:34England win by eight wickets.
55:36It's a game, love the game.
55:52It's a game, love the game.
55:54It's a game, love the game.
