00:00Considered acceptable for all ages.
00:09We're going to be doing a lot here.
00:11We got about 900 square feet of cabins, 650 square feet of decking,
00:15and we're touching every inch of it.
00:18We are ripping stuff out, opening the windows,
00:21putting on the trailer so we can take it to the dumpster.
00:23So we've got to tear a deck down.
00:25We've got to take a ceiling out.
00:26We've got to reframe the inside where we're vaulting.
00:30We've got to put ceiling in all these bedrooms.
00:33We've got to redo sheetrock.
00:35What am I saying?
00:36We've got to do all this in eight days?
00:38This project was actually selected from NWTF members.
00:44Mr. Jones epitomizes the tradition of our hunting heritage.
00:48It was just absolutely fitting that he were chosen to have the bill done for himself.
00:55The basement flooding once in a while.
00:58Our deck's starting to fall apart and that sort of thing.
01:01The biggest thing is with space for people to sleep.
01:04So we got this old CPVC pipe, and it's pretty well rotted.
01:10So I think we're going to go back and get every bit of it out of here, redo it, the pegs pipe.
01:16The excitement has worn off.
01:18The fatigue has creeped in.
01:20The crew is still right on track.
01:23But we also have weather coming in.
01:25So we've got to get some stuff done.
01:27Headed into day four.
01:40I feel pretty good, but I know that there's a lot of detail work to this build that's going
01:46to eat up a lot of our time.
01:47So we're trimming up the side of the door because the doors are a little bit big.
01:53The rough framing isn't going to work.
01:56So instead of deconstructing the rest of this cabin, we're past demo day.
02:00So we're just going to trim the doors.
02:02That's about a quarter of an inch to fit them in there.
02:05And yeah, so then we're going to hopefully get them in here without doing too much more
02:10damage to the cabin.
02:11So we've got all the house repiped, all the water lines renewed, fixed all the drain lines.
02:26I'm putting in a spigot right here, hook it up, completely done, next to the trim out.
02:33That'll be all we have left.
02:36Well, right now we've got what I call back home a rat nest.
02:40This cord, we're getting ready to do with the deck out here.
02:43It'll take some time, but I know working together, we'll get in a rhythm and we'll get it knocked out.
02:50People are tired.
02:51You know, you're worn down physically.
02:54Health starts to kick back a little bit.
02:57You think you're ahead, and then you realize how far on behind you are.
03:00Tiny towns in the middle of nowhere You'll never hear about unless you've been there
03:11Little dogs on a big hat Keepin' a train on the track
03:15Carrying the load on the back
03:18These tiny towns make the world go round
03:24Yeah, these tiny towns
03:26Renovation Hunters is presented by Baird Brothers Fine Hardwoods.
03:39We've already got some walls down here They're wanting to make this kind of a little hunting staging area I'm gonna have the safe.
03:54Nice little wall control car, put some stuff on, some tools, so.
03:55We've got plenty of the siding, we're gonna run that in here, dress it up, paint it, and we'll be done.
04:00We've already got some walls down here.
04:03They're wanting to make this kind of a little hunting
04:05staging area.
04:06I'm going to have the safe, a nice little wall control
04:09cart, put some stuff on, some tools.
04:11So we've got plenty of the siding.
04:13We're going to run that in here, dress it up, paint it,
04:15and we'll be done.
04:17Here you go, buddy.
04:18Here's your 79 and 5X, Alex.
04:21We'll be on a shorty, deep pace.
04:26We're thinking we're on a pretty good pace
04:29that midweek hits, you get a little slower,
04:31a little more, a little tired.
04:33And then you start doubting how far ahead you are.
04:37So we're about at that point right now,
04:39a little worried about where we're going.
04:41And the weather has held off to this point.
04:44If it doesn't, we're in trouble.
04:50Another forever barn wood beam up.
04:52I only have seven more to go and it looks great.
04:57I mean, the contrast between the Baird and the forever
05:00barn wood, they should be really happy with this.
05:04Let's see how many I can get up before lunch.
05:19All right.
05:19Well, pal and I put the planks on, these deck boards on.
05:23And I'll tell you, it'd go pretty slow, wouldn't it,
05:25if we didn't have this big drive?
05:26Yeah.
05:27Only way to go.
05:28What's happened is, where that window is at,
05:35I'll do my roof line, my roof is going to come down and break
05:41right over the top of that window.
05:43One ten and a half?
05:44I went the same as I did over there.
05:45Yeah.
05:46No, that's perfect.
05:47That makes everything a perfect 45 rounds.
05:48But we will have to...
05:49And even if you want...
05:50Kevin just said that we need something perfect to do.
05:51We do have it on film, so...
05:52Just take note of that.
05:53Kevin just said that we need something perfect to do.
05:54We do have it on film, so...
05:55Just take note of that.
05:56Kevin just said that we need something perfect to do.
05:57Well, I don't have a lot of locks underneath it, because I don't know...
05:59Just take note of that.
06:00So I'm inside, trying to put these beams up.
06:02Came out here to get some of our Simpson flags and get caught up in a deck conversation,
06:21which is good, because, of course, we've run into a few little situations along the way
06:26that aren't as we had planned.
06:28But between Camper, Mike, Mr. Hal Schaefer, we got this resolved.
06:33They have a game plan.
06:35They're going to shuffle some material, move the trailer, bring the auger in here, and avoid the water line to the well.
06:41So keep your fingers crossed that we won't be doing any plumbing from the well or electric.
06:49You know, if you would have showed up to this, and I wouldn't have known who you were, James,
06:53I would have said, this is Jethro's lunchbox.
06:55Come on.
06:56This whole effort behind Renovation Hunters just continues to grow with all of our partners.
07:04Man, on this trip, we have the ultimate communications out here, thanks to our friends at Graybar and Digero.
07:11That is awesome.
07:12So inside of here, we've got our Digero Gateway, which runs our smart blending technology.
07:17We basically take wireless or wired IP signals and blend them together to create a virtual network of networks that we manage for you to provide wireless connectivity from just about anywhere.
07:28We're out here where there's very little service, and they just brought some equipment to us that we get to keep on site that creates the greatest Wi-Fi, the greatest cell phone coverage.
07:40It's just stuff like that that these people want to get involved in to help us logistically when we need something, we can get a hold of somebody.
07:49Eric, so I'm the kind of guy, I've got to get it fixed in my head first, and then we'll go figure out what the application is going to be.
07:55So my gathering, you were telling me there's an inside cone, this is that, right?
07:59Correct.
08:00So this is going to flush mount to the ceiling.
08:02Yes.
08:03And this is going to be our exterior one, and this needs to be as high as possible.
08:06High as possible.
08:07On a peak, or at the very least the peak, if not more than that, put it on a mast and get it up even higher.
08:13The higher the better in a remote location like this.
08:15We're trying to get as clear a line of sight to a cell tower as we can.
08:18So here's the inside.
08:20And I believe for our main brain right here, we'll come over here to this little pantry.
08:29We'll build out something nice, mount that up in there, up towards the top, so that it makes pretty much maintenance-free cable running for the coaxils.
08:39And this is the main brain.
08:41This is amplifying the signal that came in from the tower outside.
08:44I think even I can figure this out.
08:46Inside antenna, outside antenna, I mean, it's all simply laid out.
08:50It is.
08:51It's pretty simple.
08:52That is cool.
08:53So about anybody can do it.
08:54Got some more up.
08:55Got some more?
08:56Yep.
08:57Okay.
08:58Let's get him up.
08:59Can I grab his bottom one down there?
09:00Yes, sir.
09:05Got a really good cut, man.
09:07Well, you learn from them.
09:09So we're throwing the Forever Barnwood up here in the bathroom.
09:14So this is a new look in the bathroom for us.
09:17We've got the red barnwood.
09:19Yep.
09:20So I think that's their color.
09:23So I think this is going to be kind of a signature bathroom for all the guests that come out here.
09:34What's up, man?
09:35What are you doing?
09:36All right, everybody.
09:37Come and get it.
09:38Food is ready.
09:40It is Taco Tuesday.
09:41We've got sour cream.
09:42What is that, man?
09:43Day four.
09:44It started out really rough.
09:45But I can't say enough, Dan.
09:46The crew just pushed through it today.
09:47Everybody's hurting.
09:48Some of us aren't feeling well.
09:49Could have been worse.
09:50We could have gotten rain today.
09:51But it was a good time just stopping.
09:52We've got a lot of stuff to do.
09:53But I tell you what, this place is looking fabulous.
10:21You know, most people would think, oh, it's just a simple deck.
10:31No big deal.
10:32But the little details and things that we put in and that Kevin designs into these builds,
10:38the way he designed this deck to come in together at a 45 degree angle is something that no one does.
10:45And most people would just square it, go fast, be done with it.
10:49Not renovation hunters.
10:50We do these things to the max.
10:54And that takes longer, takes more hours, but it's definitely done right.
10:59Kevin wouldn't have it any other way.
11:05We've had the four guys come in.
11:07Thank goodness we were able to get a crew out of Meadville, come in there and knock out that floor,
11:13which is huge because when you get somebody that comes in and does something with us,
11:18you know, it takes so much off our plate if it's just one item.
11:23Yeah, it's raining.
11:24Renovation rainmakers at your service.
11:25So, we're tired, we're sick, and now we're wet.
11:28We're tired, we're sick, and now we're wet.
11:33This is my favorite.
11:34You're tired, period, and now you're appropriately fed.
11:36It's raining, and now you're good at the airport,
11:37but Dent was an повidiert man to get one product,
11:38and that's, too.
11:39Sure.
11:40Let took the cars, okay?
11:41I didn't want you to drive .
11:43So?
11:44I don't know what I'm talking about.
11:45Yeah.
11:46It's raining.
11:47Renovation rainmakers at your service.
11:52Once you know it, the sky opens up, lightning coming down.
12:05It is a torrential downpour.
12:07I don't know how many inches of water in the basement.
12:09All the guys on the deck kept a stop.
12:11We were trying to push water out of the garage.
12:13You want to talk about a setback?
12:14That's a setback.
12:15This is going to put us back, boys.
12:18We're already hustling.
12:19We're already behind, and we had about a two-hour setback where it just started pouring.
12:25We got it into the basement, and that seemed like a good idea until there was four inches
12:29of water in the basement.
12:31All in all, it stopped raining.
12:32We were able to get the tools back up on the deck, and the efficiency kept going.
12:37So the silver lining is, now we know why it stays wet in the basement.
12:41We have a grade issue, and it's probably from years of people riding four-wheelers through
12:45it and everything else.
12:46There ain't but one thing I've got to do, and I've got to get my son-in-law, Joseph Falk,
12:51on the phone.
12:52He is a wizard when it comes to grades.
12:55He can fix this problem, and he can fix it fast.
13:09Just got here, and it looks like I brought the weather with me, but that's not a problem
13:13for me.
13:14I'm down here in the basement, knocking out the wall control section.
13:16It's going to be really cool.
13:18Got a setup going here.
13:19I have all this up.
13:20I got one more panel to put up to have that wrapped up.
13:24And then we got the masterpiece workbench here.
13:27We're going to get fully assembled tomorrow and have everything ready to go.
13:30We just got the flooring done.
13:36So now we can get back in here, finish doing some trim.
13:39Bad part is, I'm looking at the time and our schedule, and we've fallen a day behind.
13:45So we have a lot of ground to make up.
13:49The crew's done with the deck, but now we get into the more complicated stuff.
13:54The roofing sits outside.
13:56Stephanie's been working on the trim here and painting.
13:59We need to get these bedrooms established so that we can start staging these, and then
14:04all hands on deck through the living room.
14:06And I've got a ton of electrical work to do here, so we're behind them.
14:11We know we're behind them.
14:19We're all exhausted.
14:20You know, five, six hours of sleep each night.
14:23Early mornings, late days.
14:24We're hustling.
14:25There's a ton of work yet to be done.
14:28But really, tonight we're going to get a chance to hang out with the family.
14:31That always kind of gives us a little bit of a boost heading to finish out the week.
14:35And then Saturday, it'll be all worth it.
14:43Hey, guys.
14:455.30, man.
14:47Time to wrap it up.
14:49Meet the family tonight.
14:51Early quit.
14:53Early start.
14:55But you guys deserve it.
14:57All right?
14:57What?
14:58The early start?
14:58Both of them.
15:00A good meal tonight.
15:01All right.
15:02Let's get cleaned up.
15:03Lock up.
15:04We got two.
15:04Get out of here.
15:05Two more pieces.
15:06Way to stick with it.
15:07All right.
15:17We get to go to Cougar Bob's.
15:20Good food.
15:21Good fun.
15:22Lutzes are coming from season one.
15:25The clears are coming.
15:26And the new family from this season, it's going to be awesome.
15:31I can't even tell you the excitement that I feel.
15:35My family, my kids, my grandkids, everybody is super excited.
15:39What a sense of humor these guys have.
15:41Not only are they working hard, but they're happy and they're making it so much fun.
15:47I just envy.
15:47I wish I was there.
15:50Got the opportunity to sit down for about an hour and speak with the Joneses.
15:55Try not to reveal too much to them.
15:57Try not to slip on anything.
15:59But they're going to be excited on what we are doing here.
16:02There are special kind of people to do this sort of thing.
16:07I'm on a receiving end.
16:08I'm not sure they can truly feel what we feel, but it's amazing.
16:12It's amazing.
16:13It just takes a load off my mind.
16:15I don't have to worry about the future.
16:16I know it'll be a nice place, and I know that that will attract our kids to come to it
16:22and our grandkids to come to it because they're coming to a nice place.
16:26Meeting the Clears again, seeing them again is just great.
16:30Howe is so serious when he says we're not friends anymore, we're family,
16:33because you are stuck with us.
16:35If you're going to be on the show, get ready for us in your life forever,
16:39because if we see you again, you're going to hug.
16:46Day six, and counting, we got too much to do.
17:01We still don't have paint on the inside living room.
17:03We still don't have trim up.
17:05We still don't have electrical done.
17:08Plumbing's not done.
17:10Deck is not done.
17:11Outdoor features are not done.
17:13There's a lot that's not done.
17:14It's not looking good.
17:18You know, we joke about it, but seriously, I don't see this happening.
17:27We're at that point now that we don't even know what day it is,
17:30but we got a lot to do.
17:33Probably going to be pushing hard for the next two days, working late.
17:38We'll probably make it, but it might not be fun getting there.
17:41We got to clear some of this out so we can get this grade right,
17:43because we don't need another flooded garage.
17:46And now we're moving dirt.
17:47We have to build archery targets, a hanging station, so it doesn't stop.
17:53You've got the renovation, but now you've got excavation.
17:56Okay, so yesterday all that rain hit, and it all, there was four inches of water inside the basement in the garage.
18:04Okay.
18:04So we've got to divert that water.
18:06As you can see, that whole thing kind of drifts that way, even in the flat.
18:11Yeah.
18:11But then you've got this that compounds the problem.
18:15Yeah, we'll burn it up, swell it, and then we'll regrade that,
18:19make sure that water's going away from that garage door to that ditch.
18:22Sounds like we're going to go to work.
18:30Joseph's here, and he's not showing off, but he's showing off.
18:34To watch him run a piece of equipment, it's like watching a ballet dancer.
18:40He is so gentle on everything around him, but so quick and so efficient.
18:46It's unbelievable what he can do with just a bucket on a skid steer.
18:50Blows my mind.
18:51All right, down about an inch.
18:59Keep going.
19:01A little still.
19:02One more.
19:03One more.
19:05A little bit more.
19:06Not on my head.
19:07Okay.
19:08You out?
19:09I'm out.
19:11All right.
19:13No.
19:14Let me see your light.
19:15You know what the problem is?
19:16It's the fitting.
19:17Let me see your light.
19:18I don't think everybody realizes how much electrical is still yet to be done in this house.
19:23Kevin has got a lot on his plate.
19:31He gets to a point on these builds where you see Kevin walk by, get something, work on this,
19:38work on that, and he's just got that thousand-yard stare.
19:41And you really don't want to ask a question, but you have to.
19:45You can tell he's zombied out right now.
19:48It's not just working on something.
19:50You've got people saying, Kevin, Kevin, Kevin, Kevin, myself included.
19:53And you have to filter through questions and do the work at hand.
19:59You do, man.
20:07Now I see the reinforcements are here.
20:10The rain really set us back yesterday.
20:12And our friends from the NWTF.
20:14Scott, you brought some of your friends.
20:16Brought a couple buddies today.
20:18Boy, when we needed an army, the NWTF, the National Wild Turkey Federation, came through.
20:24We have got a crew here with us, and the great thing about them is they've got a work ethic
20:29to them that matches our team, and they are hard at it.
20:33This could be the thing that saves the day for this build.
20:36The NWTF does a lot with hunting heritage and conservation.
20:42What a way to give back to the outdoors and create a lasting impression on a family so
20:47they can pass the heritage down to their next generations.
20:50And I encourage all those that are outdoorsmen to get back in some form of capacity.
20:54We want to do more renovations, and we need more volunteer help.
20:58We'd love to have you on one of these shows.
20:59So become a part of this NWTF volunteer army and maybe have an opportunity like this to participate in.
21:06We want to show you the little shorts.
21:08You need to have your mind to talk.
21:09No, just like them and watch them.
21:12So, they are all they have.
21:15And it's normally less.
21:16So that's where you, you extremely much love that has ever had.
21:25OK, so you don't really want to meet a family service
21:27Service to go back in the call atがとうbe.
21:31While working, we still have a child.
