00:00Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has rejected allegations of Malaysia's interference in

00:05Thailand's handling of its dispute with Cambodia. This comes after protesters gathered in front of

00:11the Malaysian embassy in Bangkok yesterday, accusing Anwar in his capacity as the ASEAN

00:17chair of meddling in Thailand's efforts to uphold its sovereignty. Anwar said Malaysia

00:22merely facilitates talks for an amicable resolution to the conflict involving the two countries.

00:28He added that he had also reached out to both prime ministers to ask if they could talk.

00:33They then set the parameters and issues after which US President Donald Trump also spoke to them.

00:39He said it isn't right for some quarters in Thailand to suggest the country had interfered,

00:44stressing that in no way did Malaysia interfere. Anwar said it took significant effort to agree

00:50on the parameters of the Kuala Lumpur peace accord signed at the recent 47th ASEAN summit,

00:56but the final decisions rested with both Thailand and Cambodia,

01:00adding that he made this very clear during their meeting.
