00:00You know, Mary, I want to talk about your role in this season, because you have one of my favorite lines in this entire season.

00:05People our age have this whole complicated life behind us.

00:07God knows what's ahead. Let's just be here now.

00:10So beautiful. I started crying.

00:12Did it hit you as hard as it hit me?

00:14And, you know, when you've been in this industry for so long,

00:17how do you stay present when you're filming these kinds of scenes, especially alongside your real-life husband?

00:21We had a little code word before every single take.

00:26And I thought that the editor might have noticed it.

00:30I don't know.

00:30But before every take, we say Sandy.

00:34And Sandy, it was my teacher, Sandy Meisner, and he studied the Meisner method from a student of Sandy's.

00:43And the whole thing that Sandy taught was just a way of being so connected that you're really listening to the other person.

00:51We took joy in really consciously doing that.

00:55And it kind of put us back, honestly, to our young selves that became actors.

01:00Both went to New York this same year and started studying.

01:04And it was just kind of a fun way of being in touch with our actor-ness.
