01:21Back to Scotiabank Arena for the next four as the Raps set their sights on a 6-3 win in the six against the one-win Washington Wizards.
01:29But this isn't just any old Friday affair.

01:33It's NBA Cup territory as Toronto tries to advance tonight.
01:36I'll explain how that happens shortly.
01:38But this is a step past anything Scotty Barnes has experienced in his first two additions.

02:00I'm Danielle Michaud and we're into the final week of group play of this NBA Cup with eight teams trying to advance to the knockout round.
02:08Six of those will be group winners.
02:10And the Toronto Raptors, who are standing at 2-0 going into tonight, are very much in the driver's seat of theirs.
02:17If they can get a win tonight and the Pacers suffer a loss to the Cavaliers, they will be off to the quarterfinals.
02:24And that's not the only incentive because the top two records out of the East will also enjoy home court advantage for that quarterfinal.
02:31So we could see this red court once again.
02:34So lots of juice in the building tonight.
02:36We know this Raptors defense is on point.
02:39They forced Philly into 21 turnovers leading to 31 points.
02:43But it's their half court offense that has really been turning heads lately.
02:46So to dive a little deeper, let's take your court side.
02:48Mack Devlin and Alvin Williams.

04:52And that's leading to them having a great half court offense.

05:54We see that a lot with those Brandon Ingram post ups.
05:57He's the guy that feeds from the top.
05:59And when he pulls over then the defense has to rotate.
06:03And now everything opens up on the backside.
06:05Especially those RJ cuts.
06:06That's how we won the game against.
06:08I think it was Charlotte.
06:09We got the game winning play with RJ off the same play.

06:13Speaking of slumps RJ's eased out of that short one.
06:15But a real sign for him won't necessarily be highlights.

06:20You know his confidence has come back.

06:44You just love his professional approach.
06:46You love his focus.
06:47His concentration.
06:48And RJ has nine games this season.
06:51Where he scored 20 or more points.
06:53On 50 percent or better shooting.
06:55So his efficiency is off the charts.
06:56And that's what I like about RJ.
06:58Responsible offensively.
06:59And defensively as you pointed out.

29:08stagnant and you get bored with it

29:15second chance opportunity and trade

30:49and then when it's winning time
30:51it's the decision making it's the
30:52shot making ability it's getting
30:54the stops the crucial stops and
30:55then the other team their best
30:57players really taking over so if
30:58you give yourself a chance to win
31:00that's why it's important for the
31:02Raptors to really put their foot
31:04on the gas and put this team out
31:06of it as soon as they can quickly
31:08and shed on the court Walter out
31:10you saw the graphic Washington
31:12second youngest team Raptors are
31:14the fourth youngest team in the
31:15league when you include players
31:17who have played at least 70 percent
31:19of the games are the eighth

38:45how he feels the progression is
38:47going in this new role and he
38:48said Brady is very talented but
38:51he's always asking for more
38:52adding it's important under he
38:54understands he'll have minutes
38:55and doesn't need to prove
38:56everything right away to instead
38:58focus on feeling more relaxed
38:59and allow the game to come to
39:01him RJ Barrett backing in Brady
39:08Brady Dick in his third season
39:12you know what I can appreciate
39:13about today's NBA structure the
39:15coaching staff there's so many
39:17coaches and there's so many
39:18resources and there's so much
39:19information so a player like
39:20Grady and a player like Jacoby
39:22Walter when you're not playing
39:24back in the day no one would
39:25talk to you you didn't have
39:26enough coaches to go around and
39:27communicate with you to keep your
39:28confidence up or work with you
39:30and when you have that ability
39:32see RJ feeling really good right
39:33now three straight baskets for
39:35RJ Barrett but I love the fact
39:37that there is a support system
39:39when you're not playing so you
39:40can continue to work on your
39:41game you can see you get
39:42communication and you know what
39:46the team actually wants it's
39:47not always going to come from
39:48the head coach it's not always
39:49going to come from the topic
39:50system but it may come from
39:51other coaches just want to work
39:52with you and continue to help
39:54you work on your game to keep
39:56your confidence level and be
39:57ready to play when your number
39:58is called foul called on RJ
40:02Barrett and CJ McCollum will go

40:15in the day they used to be the

41:16align with that then my minutes
41:19are going to increase
41:20everything's gonna go but it's
41:23what Washington will face with
41:24all these young players right
41:26you have a lot of young players
41:28that are getting minutes because
41:30you need as they say well we're
41:33developing them but things will
41:36hopefully for Washington and what
41:39they want to do will change for
41:41them for their fan base to
41:43organization that hasn't been
41:44beyond the second round in the
41:46Eastern Conference since 1979
41:49even with the John Walls and when
41:52Michael Jordan played there at the
41:54end of his career with Bradley
41:56Beal here's RJ but those two
41:59things when you align those two
42:01things that's when teams take
42:04off but it's a it's a slippery
42:08slope when you're when you're
42:09doing those things you see are
42:10two good deflection going with a
42:12timely double team because you
42:14want to learn how to win and you
42:16want to create winning habits so
42:18if you're a coach and you're an
42:20organization you want to develop
42:21an infrastructure where that's how
42:23your team and that's that's the
42:25identity of your team and that's
42:26how you want to move forward
42:27because a lot of times to be
42:29honest a lot of these players are
42:30used to get to a point and
42:32they're throwing out with the
42:33rest of the trash until you can
42:34get a stake and next thing you
42:36know you might be out the lead
42:38you will I mean you might get
42:39traded you don't ever know what
42:40happened but they're looking for
42:41better players to get you to that
42:43next level 100 percent here's
42:46quickly the three is good from
42:49Murray Harbor he's got a dozen I
42:53want to know if I can call him

42:56calls these days they don't call

44:39settling in now we talked about
44:42in the past games and as of late
44:44he and Jamal Shedd are playing
44:45together so now he can get back
44:46to the scoring and being
44:47aggressive looking for his own
44:48offense but doing a very nice
44:50job of finding that balance
44:51you've seen a little bit of that

46:05business I'm very impressed with

46:08seven and three and that's just
46:10showing the quality of the team
46:11when you can win and take your
46:12style on the road with more no

51:18their past game so they're making
51:19improvements he gave up 28 points

51:27but they felt after getting down
51:31that big that in the second half
51:33they showed more end up losing
