00:00The Mavericks NBA Cup hopes may be hanging by a thread but the real focus is
00:09on getting a much-needed win tonight versus the Pelicans. Dallas has played
00:18in more close games than any team in the league struggling to get wins in clutch
00:22time situations but the Mavs could turn the page tonight learning from their
00:32past setbacks to secure success when they need it the most. NBA Cup group stage
00:42action is on tonight at American Airlines Center it's great to have you tuned in
00:46for Mavericks basketball as the New Orleans Pelicans visit American Airlines
00:50Center for the second time in November. Earlier this month P.J. Washington Jr.
00:54had a double-double in the game against New Orleans. We did not see Zion
00:58Williamson in that game. We will see Zion tonight who just returned on Wednesday
01:02from a hamstring injury. With Devin Harris I'm Mark Folliwell. Great to have you
01:08tuned in tonight. We are looking forward to this Mavs Pelicans matchup for a
01:12number of reasons. One is Cooper Flagg is back tonight Devin after missing the
01:16last game and this is going to be fun tonight. Coops matching up against a
01:19high school teammate of his at Montfaird Academy Derek Queen. So that will be an
01:23intriguing part of this Mavs Pelicans game. Yeah I've never had a chance to go
01:26against a high school teammate. I did go against a high school rival. I'm sure the
01:29rules are the same. A lot of bragging rights watch these two go at it. But Coop
01:33missed the last game due to an illness. But since the stretch of him playing
01:37power forward he's been dynamic reactionary with his reads you're not
01:42thinking as much a big second half score. The ball is going to be in his hands in the
01:46fourth quarter. We talked about the team playing a lot of clutch games. So look to him to get
01:50started early. But if you start slow second half will be a big deal. 17 points over 50 percent in
01:56the last eight games. Now his high school counterpart is a rookie for the Pelicans
02:00Derek Queen. Since last we saw New Orleans Devin they've moved him into the starting
02:04lineup. He needed a couple of games to adjust but the adjustment ended on Wednesday
02:08when he dropped 30 on Denver. Yeah I have to apologize Derek Queen. I was unfamiliar with your game but
02:13he's got a lot of game in that bag. A big man with guard like skills. Very unorthodox. Not the most
02:19athletic. Not the fastest. But gets it done in a yokus type of way. Can score in a variety of different
02:24ways. And he gave Nuggets all kind of problems with that offensive firepower that he has. Since he moved to the
02:30starting lineup they're depending on him to be more efficient offensively. 30 points. 30 minutes. Add in nine
02:37rebounds. And he shot 12 of 18 from the floor. That's the second time he's had that shooting
02:42line in their last five games. The 30 points is tied for the third most by a rookie in the NBA this
02:48season. It's the Mavericks and the Pelicans tonight at American Airlines Center. We know Dallas needs
02:53more scoring. Someone who can provide it off the bench is Jaden Hardy. We've seen an uptick in that
02:58regard in the last two games and we'll have more. Resorts where the players play. By HomeZone
03:03Furniture. Come see why we are different. And by DraftKings Pick 6. Use promo code MAVS for an
03:10exclusive sign-up offer.
03:14Mavericks basketball on Mavs TV is brought to you by HomeZone Furniture. Welcome to American Airlines
03:19Center. Tonight is the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans meeting for the second time this
03:23season. Devin it's no secret that the Mavericks need more scoring. And someone who can provide that
03:28off the bench is Jaden Hardy. And we've seen some positive signs out of him over the last two games.
03:33We have. You said it. Back-to-back strong performances on the offensive end of the floor. He's shooting 48%
03:38from the floor. 41% from three. Only in 11 minutes per game. So that tells me when he does get
03:43opportunities he's producing at a high level. There's gonna be no D-load tonight. So we expect him to see
03:48extended minutes. And the Pelicans team that struggles to guard. Hardy could be in line for another
03:53strong offensive performance. Well you look at what he's done in the last two games. And that's
03:57why we're putting him in the driver's seat. Brought to you by your North Texas Chevy dealers.
04:01About an average of 14 points in 15 minutes in the last two games. Someone who can score in
04:06bunches off the bench. He's made five out of 11 threes. And of course the Mavericks want to play
04:11with pace. So it's good to see someone who can provide some transition scoring over the last two
04:15contests as he's done. Derek Lively returned to the starting lineup on Wednesday night. And we expect to
04:20see him there again tonight. Leslie joins us with a report on D-Live. And we start the Mavs and
04:25Pelicans right after this on Mavs TV.
04:30In less than one minute this game starts between the Davos Mavericks and the New Orleans Pelicans.
04:34The starting lineups tonight are brought to you by Home Zone Furniture.
04:37Tonight New Orleans they've used 10 different starting lineups this year. Third most in the league.
04:42Jeremiah Fears, Herb Jones, Derek Queen, Zion Williamson, and Trey Murphy the third.
04:45For the Mavericks, this is their most frequently used starting lineup. Now four times this year.
04:50Brandon Williams and Max Christie, Cooper Flagg and P.J. Washington. And Daniel Gabbard back in as the
04:56starter at center after Derek Lively started the last game against New York at center. And with more
05:01on Lively's starting appearance on Wednesday and Lively in general, it's Leslie McCaslin. Hi, Leslie.
05:06Well, yeah, he missed nine games with that right knee injury. Came off the bench in the first two. It was kind
05:11of a whirlwind. Two overtime games. Then got the start against the Knicks in that wild game on
05:16Wednesday. Had four points, 10 rebounds, the most this season, and three blocks. He's making the most
05:22of his minute restriction right now, which is still around 15 to 18 minutes. And that's the hardest
05:27part. He wants to play more. He's been smart with his fouls, Jason Kidd has said, and pregame that he
05:33said he's doing everything he can in those 17 minutes. So hopefully soon they'll be able to expand
05:40that a little bit, Mark. Ten boards to your point the other night in 18 minutes, three blocked shots
05:45as well. And he'll be spelling Daniel Gafford tonight. So presumably we'll see some Moussa Cisse
05:52off the bench as well, because there are bigs that must be dealt with from the New Orleans
05:56perspective, including Zion Williamson and Derek Queen. But it's Herb Jones who got free underneath
06:02with the first basket of the game for the Pelicans. A little late on the switch. Good play to start
06:08the game. Don't want to give up a layup on that first possession though. Jones trying to get his shot
06:12in a better rhythm. He hasn't been shooting his own lately. Here's Cooper Flagg back on the floor
06:18and drive into the basket to open up the scoring. With the left, we've seen it time and time again.
06:22He's really starting to do a nice job of attacking with that offhand and finishing. Now Herb Jones 4-3.
06:30That's no good. Christie to rebound. Mitch and Jones struggling lately over the last four games,
06:34just 27 percent from the floor. He did open the scoring with the layup, but then missed from
06:39the perimeter. Black moving to the right this time. Spins back with the left against Derek
06:46Queen, and the shot is missed to the paint. I thought he hesitated right there. I thought
06:51he just went straight up, but made that shot a lot tougher than it had to be. And there was
06:55an inadvertent deflection before that ball got on Trey Murphy, and he ends up fumbling it
07:00out of bounds as we look at tonight's Bowl Bowl performance plan. Take a look. We've got to get
07:04ahead early. Last time these two teams played, Pelicans got off to a 9-0 start. Must start a
07:09little bit more strong. You must protect the rim. You know Zion is going to bring it to you.
07:13Bows are going to be a play important part of that, and we must rebound, rebound, rebound.
07:17That are rebounded by the Pelicans. Really important for our pace game to be able to get out and run.
07:23The three, two off the rim. The rebounding edge that you're talking about that was a negative one
07:27for Dallas, and the meeting here on November the 5th was a minus 12. It was 56-44 Pelicans in that game.
07:39Gafford defending Derek Queen, and here's the matchup of Zion against P.J. The double team comes over.
07:45Williamson is a good passer. Trust me on that. Despite what you just saw,
07:51Zion has always been a willing passer. Over four and a half assists per game this year, Devin.
07:57Give that turnover to Derek Queen. When you see a trap, he must flash into the post. That opens up the weak side.
08:05Now here's a chance for the Pelicans to run, and it's Trey Murphy.
08:12A driving kick by Brandon.
08:15And the corner three with the kind bounce. Of course, Max Christie got a good bounce on a corner three.
08:21He's the best in the business at it this year.
08:23We call that living right. You get that kind of bounce. You're doing something right.
08:29And with that, the Mavericks take a one-point lead as they play tonight in home game number 12 of the year already.
08:37Jeremiah Fears answers back with a three-pointer.
08:40Ricky out of Oklahoma.
08:42He is fearless.
08:43Yes, he is. I agree with that.
08:46Playing well over the last four games.
08:4819 points.
08:49About 51% for the point.
08:52Three-point try.
08:53Be will, no good.
08:58Three minutes gone by.
08:59Both of these teams played on Wednesday.
09:01From Mesquite, it's good for Trey Murphy.
09:05The last time we played this team,
09:07we did a pretty good job guarding him and making it tough on three-point line.
09:10But when he sees one go early, he might be in line for a big night.
09:13He went three for 12 in that game.
09:15To your point, Devin, there's a foul called inside on Herb Jones, his first and the team's first.
09:22Coop makes a mistake here of going underneath the dribble handoff that just opens up a wide-open look.
09:28And, I mean, this guy shoots it from Houston.
09:32Yeah.
09:32Not afraid.
09:33Yeah.
09:36Williams.
09:37Balls deflected and stolen by Jeremiah Fears, who recently had a game with seven steals.
09:43There's one.
09:44And Jeremiah Fears, a very quick player in the open court, and draws a foul off the turnover.
09:52Careless turnover, knowing that when you've got a guy in the passing lane, easy deflection there.
09:59It's got to be a bounce pass or fake a pass to make a pass.
10:02It leads to a transition opportunity.
10:04For the year, 15 points a game for Fears, who was the seventh pick in the draft last summer after his one-and-done season playing in Norman.
10:17Good year for Oklahoma.
10:1817 points per game.
10:20Four boards for assist as well, his average.
10:25He goes 0 for 2 on the line, and he's an 83% free throw shooter.
10:29Well, the Knicks missed a bunch of free throws late the other night.
10:34The Pelicans open up tonight, missing their first two.
10:38Coop puts it down.
10:39Extra pass.
10:40Brandon Williams.
10:40P.J. Washington knocks down the corner three.
10:44Got to be huge for his confidence coming off a game going 1-12.
10:48Get a wide-open three with your feet set and get that one to go.
10:52Does wonders for the confidence.
10:54Out near the top of the key, Derrick Queen slowly rises up for the jump shot and hit it.
11:02He will play at his own pace.
11:05And to your point in the open to the telecast, Devin, there's a lot in his back.
11:09Attack here by Brandon Williams.
11:11Offensive rebound, Daniel Gafford back out for the easy noose.
11:15Daniel Gafford.
11:15Well, the start has been better tonight, even though the Mavericks trailed by two.
11:23To your point earlier, it was a 9-0 deficit.
11:26And I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but with the Mavericks trouble scoring at times this year,
11:32put them behind the eight ball or the nine ball, as it were, in that last game against the Walms.
11:38I'm sorry, did you just see that spin move?
11:40That was a very clean.
11:42Another thing in his bag.
11:43He's got the spin move.
11:45He can go spin cycle and found Herb Jones for a three.
11:48On the move, here's flag.
11:49Another near steal.
11:51It was deflected.
11:52Like shot clock.
11:53Turnaround short J is good for Coop.
11:57When in doubt, you think I'll turn it over?
11:59My philosophy, shoot it.
12:00Yes, absolutely.
12:01You just 100% of the shots you don't take.
12:03And it feels like the Pelicans are shooting 100% to start this game.
12:06They're shooting 87%, Devin.
12:09Seven out of eight from the floor.
12:10Dallas wants a timeout.
12:11Off the deflection here.
12:12I'm going to get it back and take a look around and look what I got.
12:16There you go, high school teammate.
12:17Take that with you.
12:19Mavs down 18th-12 here early in the first quarter as we welcome you back to Dallas
12:23where two former high school teammates, as we mentioned earlier, are going head-to-head tonight.
12:27Of course, that's Derek Queen there who played for Mountford with Cooper Flagg right behind him.
12:32I talked to Derek Queen before the game, and he said Cooper's the kind of guy
12:35that played extremely hard all the time.
12:38They won a championship together that year.
12:40He said everything was built around him, and Cooper adapted so quickly.
12:45But he said the best thing now, and in looking at this photo,
12:48we always talk about how cool it would be to get here, to get to the NBA level.
12:52They both are.
12:53Asa Newell, as well in that picture, is with Atlanta.
12:56And Liam McNeely is now with Charlotte.
12:58So four of those six teammates are playing in the NBA.
13:02Now, I asked him to give me an antidote about Cooper something.
13:05I said, is he a goofy guy?
13:06And he said, well, he can turn it off and on.
13:09But very competitive, like we've heard about Cooper all year long.
13:1334-0 was the record for Montreux Academy that year, winning the national championship,
13:17as Leslie said.
13:19And Kevin Boyle did such a fantastic job with that team.
13:23Here's the turnover committed by Dallas out of the timeout.
13:25Look out on this, cut up the baseline, and Sadiq Bey,
13:28who had a great game against Dallas two weeks ago, missed a chippy.
13:33A block by the rim.
13:35I don't see what happens to me, Tom.
13:36Beers on the closeout, Murphy on the closeout, Koop on the three,
13:40tap out, rebound, Musa Cissé.
13:42Beers had it, lost it, picked up by Koop.
13:45Dallas down by six with six minutes played in the game.
13:48Thereabouts anyway as Najee Marshall scores in the paint,
13:51came into the game with a timeout.
13:52Well, that's something that New Orleans has seen time and time again.
13:57Now as you get into that block and getting those nice floaters to go.
14:0362% on paint field goal attempts from Marshall this year.
14:06He was about 62% last year.
14:09Corner three, missed by Sadiq Bey, kept alive by Jones,
14:12picked up by Queens, shot by Beers,
14:14and another three ball by Jeremiah Beers.
14:17The New Orleans team has a lot of talent, a lot of young talent.
14:22Just haven't really put it together.
14:25But they're bringing the energy in this first quarter.
14:29Missed from the corner by Marshall.
14:31Beers has gone three of three on threes.
14:33The only hiccup was those two missed free throws that he had.
14:36He turns down a three and he slices through the defense
14:39and a fancy finish to give the rookie from Oklahoma 11 points
14:43in the first seven minutes of the game.
14:45And here's another nine-point deficit to the Pelicans in the first quarter again.
14:48Behind the nine ball again.
14:52Lost court to Koop.
14:54Leading through the defense, lost ball.
15:00Three turnovers for both teams now.
15:02Beers leaves in for Derek Queen and a rebound for Musa Cissi.
15:07Here's Brandon Williams in the open court.
15:10And he's got Christie running to the corner and he switches it.
15:18Needs more of that, but it starts with stops.
15:25The one was made seven of their first eight shots
15:28and they're still cooking.
15:30He's got Murphy knocking down another shot.
15:40Cissi looking for somewhere to go on the dribble handoff.
15:43It's the Koop for a long two.
15:45And that's on the money.
15:50Taking what the defense is giving him.
15:54Nice rise up for Koop.
15:55Now here's a catch inside.
15:57Murphy with a foul.
15:57Murphy's been playing well lately, Devin, over the last seven games.
16:07He's averaging almost 26 points
16:09to put his season scoring average just shy of 20 a game.
16:12These back screens are giving the Mavs fits to start the game.
16:15Just saw another possession before that
16:17where he caught the ball over the top.
16:19He struggled very much in that first game that we saw him.
16:25But if you give him open twos and allow him to get open threes,
16:30he can score with the best of them.
16:31And over those last seven when he's averaging nearly 26,
16:34it's 55% for the floor and almost 41% from the arc.
16:38We've got Blake Thompson in the game.
16:41Jaden Hardy's in.
16:42P.J. Washington is back in.
16:45He missed it earlier.
16:46D'Angelo Russell illness.
16:47He's out tonight.
16:49Hardy, 14 points a game.
16:5115 minutes a game over the last two contests.
16:53And he drills his first shot right into the game
16:55and connects on a three ball.
16:57It'd be a great time for a Hardy party.
16:58Yes, it would.
16:59The Mavs need offense tonight and they need defense as well
17:03as Murphy blings up another three and Cissé rebounds.
17:09Pelicans started seven of eight.
17:11They've made four of their next eight shots since then.
17:17Lashing into the middle with Cissé.
17:20Right side of the floor, P.J.
17:22Washington on a post up.
17:24Makes a move, draws a foul, and heads to the free throw line
17:26to try to make this a four-point game.
17:28You're late in the first quarter.
17:32For Trey Murphy, that's his first foul.
17:35And it's the second team foul committed by New Orleans.
17:41Hey, Mavs fans.
17:42DraftKings Pick 6 is now available in Texas,
17:45and you can make picks live once games have tipped off.
17:48Download the DraftKings Pick 6 app now
17:50and sign up with code Mavs.
17:54The Mavericks have ascended to the number one spot
17:58in the NBA, or at least tied for first.
18:01And most fouls drawn per game.
18:03Dallas and Orlando are drawing about 24 fouls per game.
18:07Just two so far, and one free throw taken and missed.
18:10We'll be back right after this.
18:13Up to the first quarter.
18:14Duke's had a lot of number one draft picks recently.
18:17They've had three since 2019.
18:19Obviously, one's on the floor wearing a Maverick uniform,
18:22and Zion Williamson out of Duke was selected number one in 2019.
18:26So a little comparison here in tonight's Baylor-Scott-White health pulse check.
18:30Through the first 15 career games, we knew Zion was an electrifying scorer,
18:34and that was evident as soon as he stepped on the floor.
18:37Coop averaging 15 and a half points in his first 15 games.
18:40One month from today, Coop will turn 19 years old, Devin.
18:44We're still one year away from his 19th birthday.
18:47And the scoring numbers for Coop have been going up.
18:50We talked about this off the top of the telecast.
18:52Ever since there's been a point guard in the starting lineup with him,
18:55the scoring number has gone up to over 17 per game.
18:58It's freed him up to do some other things.
18:59Yeah, it's kind of got him comfortable with being out there.
19:03He's figured out some big steps.
19:06Seeing confidence grow.
19:09More reactionary with his reads.
19:11And I think he's got a big thing in store for the rest of the season from the phenom.
19:18Jordan Hawkins, Jose Alvarado, E. Macy, Micah Peavy, bench players all in the game now for New Orleans.
19:24And another one had stayed out on the floor, Sadiq Bae.
19:27Here's Dallas off a stop, running, scoring, P.J.
19:33Washington has a made three, a made two, and a made free throw to accumulate six points in the game so far.
19:42Jose Alvarado.
19:46Pass in the paint.
19:48Eve Macy with a difficult finish.
19:52Charmed footwork.
19:53Five starts and six games off the bench for Eve Macy, second-year big man from Taylor.
20:02For three, contested three by Klay over Jordan Hawkins.
20:05Rebound, lost out of bounds.
20:09Sadiq Bae looks kind of contemptuously at his teammate, Eve Macy,
20:14as they both went after the rebound and prevented each other from getting it.
20:21Daniel Gafford is back in.
20:31Ten on the shot clock, Gafford back in.
20:33Here's two for three.
20:34Alvarado for three at the other end of the floor.
20:44And Macy and Klay Thompson go after the rebound.
20:46Macy got it back.
20:48Now a shot is bluffed by Micah Peavy, challenged by Daniel Gafford when Peavy does take it, and he hits it.
20:54Micah Peavy, local player from Duncanville High School, and played five years collegiately.
21:03One year at Texas Tech, one year at Georgetown.
21:05Those were the first and fifth seasons of his career.
21:08In the middle, three years at TCU.
21:11And three good years.
21:12More on that in a minute.
21:13Here's Blake Thompson off the side of the backboard.
21:16Alvarado picks it up.
21:17And here's Peavy driving, missed the layup.
21:20Dallas has the rebound.
21:22That's pushing.
21:23That's pushing.
21:25Up ahead to Washington.
21:26The alley-oop, and it's on target.
21:31He's trying to find Gafford for the highlight reel dunk.
21:34Here's a miss by Sadiq Bae.
21:36The ball's thrown in by P.J. Washington.
21:38It was about to be stolen by Alvarado.
21:40It was tipped out of bounds.
21:42It looked like by Marshall, but the referees say it's Dallas ball.
21:47It's a wild little stretch.
21:52What do you think?
21:53Was it last off Alvarado's hand?
21:55Well, New Orleans means think so.
21:58They're going to challenge it.
22:01James Borrego, the interim head coach, taking over for Willie Green,
22:07former head coach of the Charlotte Hornets, native of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
22:11James Borrego is using a coach's challenge with 109 left in the first quarter.
22:16So let's see the play again.
22:18I mean, the previous play is being challenged by the head coach of New Orleans.
22:25I feel like that's a 50-50 ball there.
22:29Yeah.
22:30Maybe, Najee.
22:32That's a tough one, dude.
22:33It is.
22:34Who's fingers touch it last?
22:40Maybe Najee's thumb?
22:42Well, I'm sure that the astute NBA and Dallas Maverick fan, by the way,
22:47recognize the voice that announced the information about the coach's challenge.
22:52As the crew chief of tonight's game, referee Bill Kennedy in his 28th season from Phoenix, Arizona,
22:56Jason Goldenberg in his ninth year from Atlanta,
23:00and Danica Baruti in her fourth year from Freeport, Florida.
23:04That's the trio of referees for tonight's game.
23:07Bill, of course, one of the most distinct voices amongst referees in the NBA.
23:11And I've got to say, the way he delivers these calls is, it's epic.
23:16It's epic.
23:17Got to love it.
23:18The theatrics of it just.
23:19So, it's on Alvarado and Marshall's hand both.
23:26I think this is going to end up being a successful challenge.
23:30Because it's on, I think you nailed it a moment ago.
23:33Yeah, for Reed Devon.
23:43Still looking at it with 109 left in the first quarter.
23:45As Bill and Jason and Danica, the referee crew.
23:56Of course, besides checking out-of-bounds, they're checking,
23:59you've got to check imminent possession, shot clock, game clock, all those sorts of things.
24:02So, there's obviously a lot to go into these reviews other than just determining possession,
24:07and we'll find that all out right now.
24:08Here we go.
24:09After reviewing the play, the out-of-bounds was actually touched by number 13,
24:14the ball's going to be awarded to New Orleans on the side with 24 on the shot clock.
24:20The coach's challenge is successful.
24:24Did he just well actually?
24:26Yes.
24:26Yes, he did.
24:27He just did the online well actually.
24:31That was splendidly done by Bill.
24:35I mean, actually, if you've got to get on the mic on that entertain, I love doing it.
24:45Actually, you know, that's what you use when you want to condescendingly correct someone.
24:49So, that was, of course, they're condescendingly correcting themselves in that particular case.
24:54Well, it ends up being Dallas ball as Zion had it, and the shot officially was blocked by Klay Thompson.
25:03But here's Peavy with the poke away.
25:06Gafford has it back.
25:07This has been certainly an interesting first quarter as Dallas looks for something good to happen here at the end of it.
25:15And three seconds was just called on Daniel Gafford.
25:18An offensive three seconds, not a defensive three-second violation.
25:23Offensive possession is one they would like to forget but just couldn't get anything going.
25:29Got Gaffs camping out in the paint waiting for a shot to go up.
25:32I'm not surprised it wasn't a defensive three-second.
25:35As Zion explosively drives and finishes.
25:38Wow.
25:38New Orleans hasn't had a defensive three-second violation all year long, so that's why I knew it was going to be offensive.
25:45New Orleans has had their biggest first quarter from an offensive standpoint this year.
25:50Thirty-four points.
25:52And for Zion, he just scored his first two.
25:55In and out for Marshall on a three-point try.
25:58Jose Alvarado collects the rebounds and will walk it up the floor.
26:03Dallas does have a foul to give here at the end of the first quarter.
26:09It's Alvarado who slings a pass over to Jordan Hawkins.
26:12He puts it in on the left and fly and misses at the end of the first quarter.
26:17Off we go to the second quarter.
26:19It is a less than ideal start for Dallas at home tonight against the Pelicans.
26:29All right.
26:29Welcome back to Dallas where we have this cup game going on.
26:32So, Max, what did New Orleans do well there to be able to jump ahead early?
26:35Their pressure, they forced us into a lot of turnovers.
26:38Hands in the gaps and we're dribbling into traffic and they're doing a good job of getting steals.
26:41So, we've got to slow down and just take care of the ball so we get shots at the rim.
26:45But you guys are shooting the three ball better lately.
26:47What's been the difference?
26:48I think we're just looking for each other.
26:49We're getting in the paint.
26:50Even tonight, they're bringing a crowd when we drive in the paint.
26:53So, kicking the ball out to shooters is working for us and we usually make them when we do that.
26:56All right.
26:56Thanks, Max.
26:57Go get them.
26:59Great interview, Leslie.
27:00All right.
27:00Let's start to score a round in front.
27:02We have not seen Derek Lively in the game tonight.
27:04We just saw him on the bench.
27:06The group on the floor right now for the Mavericks.
27:08Gafford, Clay, Williams, Martin, and Washington.
27:12Blake Thompson for three.
27:13Yes, sir.
27:14The Pelicans came into tonight's game last in the league in first quarter point differential.
27:23They've been outscored by an average of 5.6 points per first quarter this year.
27:28But they were up by 9, now up by 8.
27:32They swap a 3 by Clay for a Zion alley-oop finish that he may look like a walk in the park.
27:40I mean, but the pass by Queen, a big-to-big kicker goal as we see P.J. make his 3 and throw it up to the sky and let Zion, I mean, he's got eight assists already?
27:52Yes, he does, yeah.
27:53He's already tied his career high in assists, and we have played a quarter and a minute of the game.
28:02Now it's turned it over again.
28:04As Max Christie said in that interview with Leslie, that is a problem.
28:09It's eight turnovers.
28:10They're just lucky that New Orleans hasn't done more with it.
28:14They only have seven points off the eight turnovers.
28:17Jordan Hawkins just hit a three, and now a foul is called on New Orleans.
28:21It's called on Jose Alvarado.
28:24He's talking about this simple big-to-big screen.
28:27P.J. commits a little bit too much to the ball, giving Zion an alley, and that's not a battle you're going to win.
28:34When you put it up there, that's not a battle you're going to win with Zion.
28:36He gave Zion the alley, and then it was the oof finish.
28:43The more I see that pass by Derek Queen, the more appreciation I have for it because it was off the dribble and, like, kind of looped it underhanded,
28:53almost like kind of in like a very exaggerated hook shot, like a Connie Hawkins hook shot or something.
29:01Impressive.
29:04A couple of quick fouls on the Pelicans this fourth.
29:08Long two for play, and that was good.
29:12A great quarter for play to get going.
29:17Even if doesn't really guard pinned down as well.
29:20There's a skip pass by Queen.
29:23Back in Derek Queen's hands.
29:25He's initiated so much offense.
29:26And a Jokic-like role out at the top of the key, where we want to go farther back.
29:33Vlade Divac, another big who would stand at the top of the key.
29:36No further back.
29:37Oh, that was well.
29:38Oh, his dad's going to his dad, right?
29:39Chris Webber.
29:40Yeah.
29:41And you want to talk about guys big to big, high-low passing.
29:44Divac and Webber.
29:45Oh, the dreaded sideline got Jordan Hawkins, it looks like, stepped out of bounds.
29:53Let's go!
29:54Over the last ten games, Derek Queen's been averaging four assists.
30:00It took him a while to get that part of his NBA game going.
30:03He only had one assist in his first five games total.
30:07But he is looking good passing it tonight.
30:09Here's Peeche.
30:10Missed the shot.
30:11Tips out his own miss to Brandon Williams.
30:14And that three goes in, but it touched the shot clock.
30:18And so, it's out of bounds.
30:21And now with Robert Mads, number two, Derek Lively, the second.
30:28And it got either the clock or maybe one of the wires that attached the clock to the backboard.
30:35First minutes of the game for Derek Lively.
30:39Still on that 15 to 18-minute restriction.
30:42That is a slingshot across the floor by Queen to Jose Alvarado.
30:47Zion was doubled.
30:48The ball goes all the way around.
30:49Jordan Hawkins, another three.
30:50Hey, look out.
30:51Zion just bowling balled bodies away to prove that offensive rebound.
30:56And Alvarado drills the three.
30:57And he looks the way he does because he's 0 for 8 on threes in his last two games before that hit.
31:02That looked good.
31:02That was a man's rebound by Zion.
31:04It was.
31:06Play for three.
31:09He's out of bounds off Derek Lively.
31:10The ambition of the Derek Queen passes seems to be growing and growing.
31:18How about that laser across the court that he just threw a moment ago?
31:22I mean, as a team, that ball is hopping and humming around.
31:27Speaks to their levels of efficiency now they're shooting the ball so well in this first half.
31:32And they are shooting it at a clip of nearly 55%.
31:3617 out of 31 from the floor.
31:387 out of 13 from the arc.
31:41Mavericks are shooting 50% from the floor.
31:4337% from the arc.
31:46Queen.
31:47He's looked to pass until now.
31:49Drives and finishes for just his second basket of the game.
31:57So he's not the fastest, not the most athletic, but he gets to his spot.
32:03Use that big body.
32:05Searches for the foul.
32:07Put that ball down.
32:08Acrobatic finish.
32:12I mean, a lot of English on that finish.
32:14Yep.
32:15For a three-point play, that's good.
32:19After his year as a teammate of Cooper Flags at Montfaird in the 2023-24 high school season.
32:25Queen played a year at Maryland.
32:27Brandon Williams underneath.
32:29Offensive rebound.
32:30Lively has it.
32:33And now Williams.
32:34And a crowd dished it out.
32:36P.J. puts it down and finishes with a little baby hook.
32:40Patient.
32:41He's a shot.
32:41Shot begs really well to get that defense up.
32:47Pocket pass gone around the screen.
32:49The roller is Derek Queen.
32:50And the ball's down and bounce off now.
32:52Good hand defensively by Dallas to knock it out.
32:54Off the body of Derek Queen.
32:56Williams against Fears.
33:05Organized for three.
33:06Still good.
33:07P.J. missed it, but a tap-out rebound by Lively.
33:11Play ran it down.
33:13It was 14 on the reset.
33:15Halfway down on the shot clock now.
33:17Lively caught it.
33:19Dished it out to the corner.
33:20P.J. Washington swishes home that three ball.
33:23Good.
33:23Good.
33:25Timeout.
33:27Good.
33:28Good.
33:29Good.
33:29Washington, the leading scorer.
33:30A huge bounce back from his 1-12 the other night.
33:33Already 14 points in the game.
33:35A timeout called by the Pelicans, but they lead Dallas right now by seven.
33:41Mavericks basketball on Mavs TV is brought to you by your North Texas Chevy dealers.
33:44In the second quarter, New Orleans leads Dallas 45-38 in this West Group B NBA Cup game.
33:54Dallas' three-point shooting is on the rise over the last five games.
33:59Attempts are up, makes are up, and that all, of course, is a result of the fact that percentage is up.
34:05In the last five games, the Mavericks making 35% of their threes after making just 29.5% in their first 11 games.
34:14For some comparison and some context, Devin, the league is averaging almost 36% on three-point shots this year.
34:21So, certainly at this point after the start, I'll take 35%.
34:24100%.
34:25And I think Max Christie talked about it in an interview with Les.
34:29Get to their spots.
34:30They know where those threes are coming from, but they're looking for one another.
34:33And typically, when you can get wide-open looks and you get a high volume up,
34:37you're going to make the majority of those shots, especially from the corner.
34:41And here, speaking of the corner, is a three-by-bay.
34:44Offensive rebound put back up and in by Derrick Queen.
34:48Having a dynamite first half tonight, mostly passing,
34:51but he's got some scoring and rebounding to go along with it.
34:58On the bounce, Brandon Williams.
35:00And this is lob pass over lively stolen Sadiq Bae.
35:04Trey Murphy, he's run off the line.
35:07Jeremiah Fierce on the drive, cutting to the back, get to slam it.
35:10Sadiq Bae-bay.
35:12I just mentioned looking for one another.
35:14This Pelicans team is doing a phenomenal job with their ball movement.
35:17Multiple guys touching the floor, shifting it from one side to the other
35:20and waiting for that breakdown to happen.
35:21Their assist number tonight is 16 on 20 baskets.
35:27You have an assist percentage of 80%.
35:29That is an excellent number.
35:33Long pass caught by Alvarado.
35:37After the empty possession for Dallas, through traffic, Trey Murphy draws a foul.
35:41With five minutes gone by in the second quarter, Trey Murphy is headed to the pre-throw line to shoot two.
35:49With the Mavericks having committed their second team foul of this quarter.
35:54And the first on Caleb Martin.
35:55I'm not car obsessed.
36:02I'm Sewell obsessed.
36:04I really don't care about the car as much as I care about the Sewell experience.
36:08I can't buy anywhere else.
36:09I won't buy a car anywhere else.
36:15I think the story of the first half is the excellent ball movement, to your point a moment ago, by the Pelicans.
36:20Once again, to reiterate, 20 made baskets, and they've got assist on 16 of those.
36:26That's, again, for context, if your assist percentage is up in the high 60s, that's going to be near the top or at the top of the league.
36:34And they're at 80%.
36:35The offensive attack really has the Mavs back on their heels.
36:41It's affecting their offense as well.
36:45Dallas has really been impacted on offense by the dreaded turnovers.
36:50Nine here in the first half.
36:55Driving lane was closed off there for Clay Thompson.
36:58Pelicans have a 13-point lead.
37:01They had a 13-point lead in the last game, which they ended up winning by two.
37:06Way off for Williams.
37:08And the Pelicans with a rebound.
37:12Brandon Williams disrupts the dribble handoff attempt between Herb Jones and Jerry Murphy.
37:1819 on the shot clock.
37:20Williams and Clay have gone out of the game.
37:25Max Christie back in.
37:28Jaden Hardy has returned.
37:31First missed game of the year for Cooper Flagg due to illness on Wednesday.
37:35First missed game of the year for D'Angelo Russell due to illness tonight.
37:40Nice lead there by Queen for Murphy.
37:45They glances, that is, at the shot clock.
37:48He drives it.
37:49Marshall defends well.
37:50Oh, it was good defense for a better offense.
37:52Can't play any better defense than that.
37:54Giving up a contested two.
37:55You've got to live with that result.
37:56Big finish for Cooper Flagg on the blow-by and the one-hand punch.
38:06Kickball by Dallas.
38:1118 left on the shot clock.
38:13And that's tonight's Dr. Pepper one-of-a-kind dunk.
38:17Cooper Flagg going around Herb Jones.
38:19Not an easy thing to do.
38:21And bam!
38:21Looking for help on the weak side.
38:26Typically, most teams like to push that pick-and-roll down to the baseline side.
38:30No big there, so Coop takes advantage.
38:32Goes in for the strong finish.
38:35Herb Jones expected him to blew it, and they didn't do that.
38:38Here's Derrick Queen going after the offensive rebounds.
38:42And there's a foul called on Coop.
38:5013 foul.
38:51First foul on Coop.
38:57543 left of the second quarter.
38:59Will be free throws, by the way, for Derrick Queen.
39:10Looking for points.
39:11Eight and nine as he shoots these free throws.
39:13He has eight assists and three rebounds in the game.
39:15He won't make it to nine points on this trip to the line.
39:18Take it out!
39:18I mentioned earlier that Derrick Queen had a buzzer beater in the NCAA tournament last year against Colorado State.
39:28I said earlier, Micah Peavy had a good career at TCU.
39:31Speaking of NCAA tournaments, the only time in school history at TCU that they went to three straight tournaments was when Micah Peavy was there.
39:3922, 23, and 24.
39:41Two, three, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four, four
40:11Dudes give up transition buckets off made baskets, but Lively does a phenomenal job here protecting
40:19the rim, which gave another transition opportunity to not take advantage of, was able to draw
40:25the foul, but energy level needs to be picked up by the fans.
40:31Very sluggish start.
40:33Talked about the turnovers, offensive rebounds, just the ball movement of the New Orleans
40:39Pelicans has really got a number on this defense to start this half.
40:44Gafford in for Lively.
40:48Marshall, the free throw shooter, stepped off the line, put his arm around Gafford and
40:52had some words of encouragement before him before taking that second free throw,
40:58which Marshall misses, went into play tonight almost 80% on freebies this year.
41:03And there's Jeremiah Beers with a giant killer on the drive.
41:06Pretty finish with the left.
41:09Oh, yeah.
41:12Balming violation.
41:13No.
41:14Backcourt.
41:14Backcourt.
41:15Backcourt.
41:16Backcourt.
41:16Backcourt.
41:16Yeah, thank you.
41:20Those are the turnovers that will get your head coach scratching his head.
41:24Yeah.
41:24Definitely an unforced error in that case.
41:26And that's ten first half turnovers.
41:32Dallas is committing the most turnovers of any team per game this year at just over 17
41:37per contest.
41:39Herb Jones, the native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, four-year player for the Crimson Tide.
41:44Missed on a corner three.
41:48On the bounce, it's Hardy.
41:52We're going to go screen and roll with Marshall as the ball handler, Gafford as the screener.
41:58Zion guarding on a switch.
41:59Marshall flings it out.
42:01And then as Christy tries to swing it, it's Herb Jones in the passing lane.
42:05You know, those wing-to-corner passes, to me, always have to be bounce passes.
42:10The only way the defender can recover is to deflect the ball on a chest pass.
42:15When you make a bounce pass, it almost gets there 98% of the time.
42:19Pass to take it quickly.
42:19Quickly, Cooper does with 3.2 on the shot clock on the inbounds.
42:23And Coop's long launch is off target.
42:27Driving lane for Fears closed off.
42:29He fills the vacated area.
42:32Eve Macy's back in.
42:35The exchange with Fears, who leaves his feet and throws it away.
42:39And Dallas digs out the loose ball.
42:43Najee Marshall on the open court.
42:44First four years of his career with the Pelicans.
42:47Another deflection.
42:49A lot of active hands in this first court.
42:52A lot of defections.
42:54And that deflection by the Pelicans leaves Dallas with ample time on the shot clock on this inbounds situation.
43:01They were down to 3.2 on the last inbounds pass, but 17 on the shot clock here.
43:10Pelicans have gone into tonight, lost seven straight.
43:13Hardy drills a three.
43:16Well, the Hardy party, I believe, is on.
43:18It's time to RSVP.
43:20I'm a plus one.
43:22Three for three for the floor.
43:24Two threes made.
43:25He's got eight points.
43:26He's the leading scorer.
43:28Off the bench in this game for Dallas.
43:31And tied for the second most on the team overall.
43:33A little push shot by Ead Meesey.
43:38And Cooper Flagg in the open court with a defensive rebound.
43:41Going to Max Christie in the corner from Marshall.
43:44Offside, Herb Jones with the rebound.
43:48Delicate's ball in front by 10.
43:51Max Christie breaks up the lob.
43:52But then it was out of bounds off Dallas.
43:58I'm not sure what Herb Williams saw on that last lob attempt.
44:02I'm wondering that myself.
44:05There is a timeout on the floor with 3.06 left in the second quarter.
44:09New Orleans 56, Dallas 46 here on Mavs TV.
44:12Stay tuned.
44:12It's Paycom Player Insights.
44:18P.J. Washington, Jr.
44:2014 points in the first half.
44:22His most points in the first half this year.
44:24Very nice bounce back from the six points on 1 of 12 shooting from Wednesday.
44:285 of 7 from the floor.
44:29He's drilled three threes in the game.
44:31And those 14 points have occurred in 14 minutes.
44:34He's been the brightest spot on offense for the Mavericks in a game in which they trail right now by 10.
44:39Pretty much him and Hardy have been the offensive firepower off to start this game.
44:45But I'm not going to win this game with offense.
44:48Defense has to be a big part of it.
44:52And the way that the Pelicans are attacking and shooting, passing,
44:58they've got a tall task with this much confidence with a team that struggles to score.
45:02Devin, last weekend, P.J. Washington reached 100 games played in his time with Dallas.
45:07There have been 391 players over 45-plus seasons that have suited up with the Mavericks
45:13and appeared in a regular season game.
45:16P.J., the 102nd player to reach 100.
45:19Jaden Hardy.
45:20He is cooking in the first half to your point a moment ago.
45:24The offensive firepower tonight is coming from Washington and Hardy.
45:28The party is on, and I'm bringing the dip.
45:30Yes, please do.
45:31You bring the dip.
45:32I'll bring the chips.
45:34Leslie, what do you got?
45:35Here's Zion Williamson inside.
45:39Margarita.
45:39Oh, you're bringing the margarita?
45:40Okay.
45:41That's an excellent decision.
45:44Excellent decision, Leslie.
45:47We're over here worried about chips and dip.
45:49I know.
45:50She's thinking smart.
45:54Coop pulls up.
45:56That jumper is off target.
45:58Coop's got eight points in the game tonight.
46:00Top three scores, 14 for Washington, 11 for Hardy, 8 for Cooper.
46:04Under the defense, Herb Jones.
46:06Stops got a little indecisive, but consequently he missed it.
46:11The old stuck between two minds.
46:13Do I need to pass or shoot?
46:15Found himself too wide open.
46:17Good ball movement here.
46:19Coop attacks a closeout.
46:20Looking for another three-pointer.
46:21Washington misses it.
46:22And the blockout by Zion leads to a defensive board for Herb Jones.
46:30Last two minutes of the first half.
46:33New Orleans is led by as many as 15.
46:37Zion Williamson in the paint.
46:39Got the bounce.
46:41That's the one part that's missing from his game.
46:43You know he's going to bring it to you and give up space.
46:45But if he can just mix in a couple of pull-up jump shots,
46:48the defense is going to have to respect that so much more.
46:53Back cut by Cooper Flagg.
46:55Passed by Daniel Gafford.
46:56Stolen by Murphy.
46:58Murphy runs the break.
46:59Gave the ball up to Jeremiah Fears.
47:03Fears has it back.
47:05Looking to take it down inside amongst the trees.
47:09And he lost it out of bounds.
47:13There's nowhere to go.
47:14Drove it into a crowd.
47:20One thing to say, you can't jump and make a pass.
47:23Derrick Queen goes in.
47:24Just a reminder to those of you watching on WFAA Channel 8 tonight,
47:27you can catch every non-exclusive Mavs TV game on KFAA 29 all season long.
47:33KFAA Channel 29, your home for Mavericks basketball.
47:39Missed three by Coop.
47:42We're down to the last minute of the first half.
47:44Zion down the lane.
47:46That's his first missed field goal attempt in the game.
47:48Now four out of five.
47:49But then the ball's poked away.
47:52Fears comes away with the ball.
47:53Then a foul is called on P.J.
47:55Derrick Queen isn't doing the signal right, but I think he wants a transition take foul.
48:01I think.
48:05They have called a transition take foul.
48:07They have called it.
48:08There it is right there.
48:11Sure.
48:12I think that's the prime definition of take foul.
48:16Yes, I would concur.
48:17Now, Derrick was signaling for a touchdown.
48:23He was not signaling for the arms out to the side.
48:26He was close.
48:27Close.
48:27Murphy, who is third in the NBA at just over 94% from the line.
48:35Trey Murphy this season going into tonight was 50 at 53 and tack on a four for four tonight.
48:43And has a career history of being an excellent free throw shooter.
48:50He's almost 88% in his NBA career, which is now at game number 267 in season five in the league.
48:58Well, moisture on the floor is the cause for the delay here.
49:09Of course, the specific floor used for the NBA Cup group stage games.
49:20Queen with it out front.
49:22A little hesitation coming down Broadway.
49:24And a rebound for Dafford.
49:28Hardee off the bounce, pulls up.
49:32And that's the first shot that he's missed in the game.
49:44Pelican 61, Mavericks 49.
49:47There's a one-second different shot clock game clock.
49:50Dallas doesn't have a foul to give here at the end.
49:53Here's a runner by Murphy, and he's fouled in the act of shooting.
49:56With four seconds left in the quarter.
50:08Fouls on Gafford, and that's the second foul of the game on Gafford.
50:12Looking at the defensive structure, can't give wide open gaps for penetration.
50:19You've got to take away the penetration and then fly up to threes, but you can't fake at a guy and let him get in there into the paint, especially this late in the quarter.
50:27Some defensive substitutions made for the final four seconds after Dallas has the ball back.
50:35James Borrego making some lineup changes for the Pelicans in that regard.
50:39Unless Dallas makes a shot, this is poised to be the biggest halftime lead for the Pelicans this year, and they actually had a letoff there as a very, very surprising missed free throw occurred by Trey Murphy, but there was a lane violation.
51:00Or I guess it was a violation, not the lane, but coming in from the outside, Max Christie, right?
51:06Got inside the three-point line before the release of the free throw.
51:08Still a lane violation.
51:09No, you're not on the lane.
51:10There wasn't going to be a second leadoff.
51:19Yeah.
51:19Let's go back.
51:24Ball goes into Koop.
51:26Oh, and he was fouled on the catch.
51:29Now, we should know that the Pelicans did have a foul to give.
51:35First in the last two minutes, just the fourth in the quarter.
51:37I mean, he went up and got that.
51:48Gafford goes out.
51:50Shooter comes into the game, Clay Thompson.
51:54Alvarado comes in now instead of Eve Macy, since Dallas took a center off the floor.
52:04Into Hardy.
52:05Hardy has it blocked by Murphy.
52:09And the half is over.
52:12A lot to talk about at halftime.
52:15New Orleans, 63.
52:16Dallas, 49.
52:18We'll be back right after this with more on Mavs TV.
52:21Stay tuned.

52:57We are back from halftime with our Rooms to Go Recap.
53:03Assistant coach Josh Brokamer said, very honestly, we came out slow.
53:07We did not have any energy.
53:09Who knows the reason why?
53:10But we've got to find it.
53:11We've got to get back to our pace here in the second half.
53:14He said, basically, New Orleans came out as the more physical team.
53:18We let them get to their spots.
53:19They're big and physical.
53:21He said, but we were slow, staying in the paint.
53:23They've got to get out and run here and play faster in the second half, guys.
53:27Get rebounds.
53:28Get stops.
53:29And really just find some energy.
53:31Well, I think that covers a lot of it.
53:33As I said, whenever we went to break at the end of the first half,
53:37that there was a lot to talk about at halftime for the group.
53:39A lot to talk about, but I'm a bright side kind of guy.
53:42Yeah.
53:43This team is Mr. Brightside.
53:44Mr. Brightside.
53:44This team is used to playing from behind,
53:46so I expect a lot of energy to come out in the second half
53:49and show a little bit of fight.
53:51We'll see Max Christie come out with that three.
53:53Nice knockdown three for Christie to open up the third quarter.
53:56See the points leaders for New Orleans.
53:59Ray Murphy, Jeremiah Fierce, top two in double figures.
54:03There's some defense of Christie.
54:07Now here's Brandon Williams, by the way,
54:09lively starting the third quarter.
54:11Black turns down the downside shot and drives right to the cup.
54:16Great way to start the quarter.
54:19Score and a stop.
54:21And then looking for another stop.
54:23Here comes Zion Williamson.
54:24Lost his balance, but found Eric Queen.
54:26And a foul.
54:31On the reverse attempt.
54:32Keep running.
54:33The referee, Danica Baruti, has got him on the wrist.
54:37Here we go.
54:38Light him up.
54:39Here we go.
54:40Here we go.
54:41That ball first.
54:42Hmm.
54:45Ball in the follow-through with the wrist.
54:50To the free-throw line.
54:51Derrick Queen for two after the foul on Lively.
54:55Cooper Flagg now has ten points tonight.
54:58And on tonight's Lexus leaderboard, he now has the longest double-digit scoring streak
55:03before turning 19 years old in the history of the league.
55:06LeBron James had two 11-point double-digit scoring streaks before turning 19 years old.
55:13On December 30th of his rookie season, Coop will turn 19 years old.
55:17One month from today, December 21st of his rookie season.
55:22Max Christie for three.
55:23And on the money again.
55:24Max Christie for three.
55:26Well, the Ballers have come out 8-2 to start the third quarter.
55:31Strong starts if they need it.
55:35Cooper Flagg is one of 33 players to appear in the NBA before turning 19 years old.
55:42So, not a lot of players have had an opportunity to even have.
55:46That was a nice move by Derrick Queen.
55:50Not a lot of players have even had an opportunity to play in the league before turning 19 years old.
55:54And let alone be good enough and on the floor enough to put together a double-digit scoring streak.
56:00Now 12 games in a row for Cooper Flagg.
56:04Look at this move here.
56:06He's taking his time.
56:07Slow to slower.
56:09The spin move.
56:15Who picks up the dribble outside to Washington.
56:18A ball fake and a drive and a scoop to the hoop.
56:20Off target.
56:21Put-back jam for Wiley.
56:22Get some energy into the building.
56:29Murphy on the reverse attempts.
56:35A couple of two-point baskets and a couple of free throws made by New Orleans here so far in the third quarter.
56:4110-6 Dallas in the third.
56:43Max Christie's provided a lot of the offense and continues to do so.
56:46A reminder, he's 12th in the league at three-point percentage.
56:51He's 16th in the league and May 3 is going into the game.
56:55And those numbers being helped by this barrage here in the third quarter.
56:59Confidence is key.
57:00Texas Honda dealers.
57:06NBA Cup Western Conference group stage scores.
57:09The Suns are trying to change the vibe in West Group A.
57:13They're 1-0.
57:15The Timberwolves are 2-0.
57:17The Suns lead that game 49-33 in the second quarter.
57:22Nuggets and Rockets and everyone else in Group C in the West are all 1-1.
57:27Nuggets and Rockets are underway later on tonight.
57:30Thunder and Jazz play.
57:32That game is in Group A.
