Taiwan is quietly becoming one of Asia’s most forward-thinking crypto markets, with new self-regulatory rules, clearer guidance from the FSC, and a fast-growing ecosystem of local trading platforms.
Transcript
00:00Okay, let's talk about the best cryptocurrency exchanges in Taiwan, which has quietly become one of Asia's most stable, transparent crypto markets.
00:08While not aggressively pro-crypto as Hong Kong, it has taken measures and pro-regulation approach, focusing on consumer protections, exchange registrations, self-regulatory frameworks.
00:19I think the Financial Supervisory Commission is overseeing Taiwan's digital asset activities and major local exchanges like MyCoin and BetoPro have become household names among retail traders.
00:33So with bank support, local language accessibility, fiat on and off ramps, I think Taiwan's crypto ecosystem is definitely maturing fast and increasingly aligning with the global standards like MICA, preserving regional independence.
00:46So let's talk about the regulatory snapshot of what's going on there.
00:50The Financial Supervisory Commission, like I said, is a key authority.
00:54They are governing AML and KYC compliance on all platforms, self-regulatory frameworks under the Taiwan Virtual Assets Service Provider Association and the TVASPs.
01:04And of course, the exchanges must register with the FSC and, you know, make sure the AML compliance, stable ones and derivatives remain under review for stricter rules in retail crypto.
01:16Use is legal, but exchanges face compliance oversight, right?
01:19So it's legal to hold and trade crypto in Taiwan, which is great.
01:22When it comes to taxation, crypto profits are treated as miscellaneous income and tax progressively up to 40% depending on the total annual income.
01:30No VAT is applied to crypto transactions and no corporate entities engaged in trading definitely must report under the business income tax rules, right?
01:38And Taiwan's tax authority as well as continuing to redefine, refine guidance for staking, NFTs and token income.
01:46So let's look at some of the top platforms in Taiwan, top regulated platforms, right?
01:51We'll start with those.
01:52So MyCoin, founded in 2014, so it's been around for a while, registered VASP under the FSC, Best for Traders, Retail and TW on and off rents, right?
02:02That's the Fiat currency, the longest running exchange in Taiwan, supporting BTCE, the USDT, several stable coins, integrated MyPay, MyPay, e-wallet right for those TWD transfers for AML KYC as well.
02:20Support trading fees, 0.1 on the makers, 0.2 on the taker, deposits free, excellent support as well.
02:27Limited ARCOIN selection though, but BTEL Pro is also another platform they founded in 2018, also a registered exchange, ARCOIN access staking options as well, supporting over 60 cryptos.
02:38BitPro card for spending, crypto directly, staking also available, best for local users.
02:43And if you're somebody who wants to maybe access global platforms that are available to Taiwan residents, you've got Coinbase, Global Brand, you've got OKEx, partially restricted, sport trading, accessible by derivatives, maybe geo-blocked.
02:58Kraken accessible, micro-regulated English interfaces as well, Binance, limited features, P2P access with KYC restrictions.
03:05But if you want to dive into the no KYC options, right, where you can get deep liquidity, unrestricted, global access, high leverage as well.
03:13You can use platforms such as K6 that are tried and tested with deep liquidity, a pro interface, 200X leverage.
03:20K6 is a great platform.
