Now let's start with the one we know in Emanuel Sharp, the sharpshooter, the guy that's not afraid to take the big shot.
00:06
Up to 16.3 points per game, shooting at 44.9% from the floor, 37% from three, getting 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists.
00:15
When you think about Emanuel Sharp, when you think about that game he had against Duke, where he was absolutely sensational from three,
00:22
this is the big shot taker, the big shot maker.
00:26
And when you look at Emanuel, he's going to have to be that guy.
00:31
But you know who's starting to become a guy, even though they also have Milo's use on in the backcourt, that's Kingston Flemings.
00:39
The stud freshman has been the good.
00:42
Leading the team is scoring at 17.3 points per game, shooting at 40% from three and 69.2% from two.
00:51
And when you really think about this Houston Cougars team with Sharp, with Flemings, with Uzon, with Tuggler,
01:00
you also have to think about one other person of note, and that's Chris Sinek, 6'11 monster.
01:07
He's getting you 10.8 points, nine rebounds a game.
01:11
Houston is going to be dangerous, and they could win the national championship.
01:16
The funny thing is, is the big problem with Houston is their defense.
01:22
And there was an interesting quote that I saw from Calvin Sampson after that big win that they had over the weekend over Auburn.
01:32
We're basically saying that Kingston and Chris Sinek are basically responsible for giving up as many points as they're scoring.
01:42
And I want people to understand what that means.
01:44
As a coach, if your kid gives you 20, but is responsible for 22 points, that's a minus two.
01:55
It's not good.
01:57
So, to me, what I love about what Calvin Sampson is doing is he's holding these young kids to the fire.
02:05
They're scoring, but they're not playing the Houston way, the Calvin Sampson way.
02:11
The way that I've seen this program go from the ashes to being arguably one of the best programs in the country is they rely on their defense.
02:23
And I'm going to say this right now, and I agree with Coach Sampson.
02:26
I don't care how many points these kids score.
02:29
If you're responsible for the same amount or more giving up than you're scoring,
02:34
are you really helping your team win at the end of the day?
