00:00I've installed something in my game that I'm not proud of.
00:02I honestly don't know how to feel about it.
00:04I'm just going to make my way over to Impulse's base because he has a bunch of villagers set up.
00:18That caught me off!
00:19I guess that should explain what I've done.
00:22I've created this beautiful resource pack.
00:25Using Skizz's grunts from us going in the trial chamber.
00:28Well, you can't...
00:30But what happens if I try and trade?
00:34This is awful and amazing. I'm going to go and find more villagers.
00:37Oh my goodness. This is what you can do if you don't spend a week obsessed with geese.
00:41Impulse is down there digging out this gigantic hole by hand.
00:45You know, I think I'd rather be obsessed with geese than build something like this.
00:48You know what? It's not even that weird.
00:53Like, it actually doesn't feel that wrong.
00:57It's not that different from vanilla Minecraft.
01:03That is both surprising and concerning.
01:05I have some absolutely massive plans for this Hermitcraft episode, but before I start,
01:09I've got some geese work to do.
01:10I'm limiting myself to a few hours. I refuse to get obsessed again.
01:14I was browsing the Hermitcraft subreddit and I saw this picture by consciousstick2943 adding some
01:19variation to the design of the geese and I absolutely love it.
01:22I was also reading through the comments and a lot of people pointed out that geese tend to fly in extremely uneven arrows.
01:27Mine are almost in perfect military formation. They do actually look quite sinister now that I'm looking at it.
01:33So if I add some variation to it, it will look a lot more accurate.
01:37And then thirdly, I need to disperse my birds a little bit and kind of have them fade off in each direction.
01:43Let's lock in and get geese in.
01:45Now, in case it wasn't obvious from the fact that I've spent the past few weeks obsessed with what is a relatively small detail,
01:51my goal for this Hermitcraft season is to make everything look alive, making use of a technique known as Build Stone.
01:58Now, I can't mention Build Stone without first saying thank you to the absolute godfather of Build Stone,
02:04Jake Kelton Crafts, who, for those who don't know the backstory, saw my fan in Hermitcraft Season 10 on the side of my factory and thought,
02:12I can animate that, made a video on it, and since then I've been obsessed.
02:15So, of course, I'll put a link to their channel down in the description, but I'm absolutely fascinated by how little it takes
02:22for your brain to fill in the gaps. Like, these birds, they're not flying anywhere, they're not actually moving,
02:27but just the little flap of the wings means that it just looks right. It feels alive, it feels like it's in motion,
02:34it no longer looks like a complete stationary postcard. Satisfied with my geese-based work, I decided to go for a nap
02:41and woke up to this. Why are there so many dots in my house? Oh gosh. Why are there so many names in
02:48my house? True. I can hear him, I can hear him. He's coming. We're going to have to leave the group,
02:54guys. We're going to have to leave the group. Okay. Everyone be quiet when we leave the group.
02:59Why are there so many names in my house? What's going on? I was literally just having a nap.
03:03You guys are acting like I can't just see your names.
03:13Can I come out? I mean, yeah, okay. Yeah, we'll all be supportive.
03:32Wow, this is actually, this actually looks quite nice in here, you know?
03:35It does. We did a great job. We got an elevator in here too now, Mumbo.
03:42This is, this is nice. I don't know where to go.
03:45Mate, I'm, I'm genuinely, I'm shooketh, because I'm holding F1 and I cannot actually find you guys,
03:51which is quite impressive, given I've seen, I've seen all your names, so you are up here somehow.
03:58Mumbo, give me a clue. Is it high? Is it low? Where did you see their names?
04:04Because they've been in F1 the whole time. Oh, I'm not F1 anymore. I know where they are.
04:12How are you pulling this off? We're in the house, Mumbo.
04:14Where are you, Mumbo? I found only one, I found Cleo.
04:22Okay, now Mumbo has to find us all. Come on, Mumbo, you can do it.
04:25This is so weird. I'll help you, even though I know where they are now.
04:29Skiz, hide. He has to find you.
04:31Just hide anywhere. There's plenty of spaces.
04:32And then if Mumbo finds you, then you can come out. You gotta find us all.
04:35Okay. This is impressive.
04:37I'm, I'm genuinely impressed by your ability.
04:44I think I've got a lot here. I think that's false.
04:47Yeah, well, it was sardines.
04:48I'm kind of wondering why Mumbo was so surprised, considering we talked about this in the meeting.
04:53Yeah, we did talk about this in the meeting.
04:55Did we?
04:55Yeah.
04:56This was on the agenda.
04:57Mumbo, did you not read the notes?
04:58Did you not read the notes?
04:59I was in the meeting. I don't know what you guys are talking about.
05:01No.
05:02I think you should just plan it at the meeting notes.
05:04I don't know.
05:04Were you late at the meeting notes, dude?
05:06No, I mean, look, I was, I was building geese, and I think that was using up about 98% of my brain capacity.
05:13I will say that. I will, I will admit to that.
05:15You didn't hear us say we were going to do this?
05:16This?
05:17It's in the notes, Mumbo.
05:18It's in the notes, dude.
05:19It's in the notes.
05:20This one where Mumbo is behind Mumbo.
05:25Wait, this is a lot for my brain. Ren and Skizz are talking about something completely different,
05:30and then I'm also getting directions to go to some of my announcements channel.
05:34Like, I feel like, and then I'm still partially thinking about geese.
05:37I don't know.
05:38Yeah.
05:38Gosh, here we go!
05:39Yeah, Skizz!
05:40Yeah!
05:40There he is!
05:42Woo!
05:42Mumbo, you're still asleep, mate.
05:44I literally just woke up, and I was like, I'm going to check to see, like, I had a nap,
05:48and then I was like, I'm going to log back in and just see, like, if I still like the formation
05:53of the geese that I've just spent the past few hours doing again, and then I just, like,
05:58see loads of names in my house on what's going on.
06:01That's so awesome.
06:02Of course, we're not going to play hide and seek.
06:04Okay, remember, you have by the end of the music disc to find us all.
06:07Okay.
06:08Oh, are you all hiding in this house again?
06:10Let's go hide and seek.
06:11Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:12So you need to get out.
06:12Wait!
06:13You need to get out in this F1, and we're all going to hide.
06:15How much of this house...
06:16You do realise this was my plan for the, like, the rest of my episode.
06:19I'm not going to have to think of a new thing.
06:23Well, now this is the rest of your episode.
06:25You better put on recording.
06:27Yeah, you're going to go outside.
06:28Well, I don't even know how to get outside yet.
06:30I'm in my own house.
06:32Where's the exit to this place?
06:36When did you do this?
06:37Because I've been...
06:38Up here.
06:39How long have I been asleep?
06:40What time is it?
06:44I'm so confused.
06:46Go!
06:47Nice.
06:47I'm so kidding.
06:50Oh, yeah.
06:51You ready, Mumbo?
06:52I think everyone's ready.
06:53You can go.
06:53Go!
06:54Ready!
06:55Yeah, the music disc is playing.
06:57I'm at F1 at...
06:58Go, dude!
06:58Oh, what?
06:59I'm looking for you.
07:00That'll work.
07:00Yeah, you've got to have five hours.
07:02It's hiding in seats.
07:02You were hiding out there.
07:05Wait, I thought this was your time.
07:07I thought this was, like, the countdown.
07:10We've all hidden.
07:12Okay, so I have to find you by the end of the song.
07:14Yeah.
07:15Yeah.
07:15Oh!
07:16I was waiting for the song to be finished.
07:18What the heck?
07:19Ah!
07:20Yes, okay, got Cub, got Cub, got Cub.
07:24This music disc is so loud.
07:25Turn it down!
07:26How?
07:28I can't use up the times.
07:29In Minecraft sounds.
07:31Oh, I'm too committed to the game.
07:32I don't even know how to get up to my base.
07:35I can't even change heights.
07:38I'm just stuck on ground floor.
07:40It's got to be...
07:43Yes!
07:43Yes!
07:46This is kind of tough.
07:48No?
07:48Okay, you guys all changed hiding spaces from that one.
07:51Oh, is there, like, a parkour run out?
07:54Oh, there is.
07:55There's a...
07:56Okay, okay.
07:57There's a ladder.
07:57Oh, oh!
07:58I can see a body!
07:59There's a false!
08:00No, you can't.
08:01You can't be out of here.
08:03Okay.
08:04Oh, the record might be ending.
08:05I think we should just let Mumbo go until he finds us all.
08:07Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:08You can't play the music disc again again.
08:09Hey, don't play it!
08:10Okay, okay.
08:11Now, let me change my settings now.
08:13Oh!
08:13Oh!
08:15Oh!
08:15Ah!
08:16Hey!
08:17You're Elytra!
08:18You're Elytra!
08:19Your goodness gave you away!
08:21I can see it popping through the fence!
08:24Oh, okay.
08:24Have you guys made a maze?
08:27Hello?
08:27Hello!
08:28What the heck?
08:30You made a maze down here!
08:34What are you doing?
08:38Hello, hello.
08:39Yeah, this is the thing that is...
08:41This is...
08:41This is...
08:42Oh, hi, Mumbo!
08:42Hello?
08:43What?
08:43Oh!
08:44What are you going to have got away with us?
08:47Oh!
08:47Oh, hang on!
08:48Oh, you definitely could have got away with that!
08:50You just moved and I saw a little bit of orange, but I have no clue where you are!
08:54He soft-locked himself!
08:56No!
08:57And I...
08:57I'm stuck!
08:59Uh, okay, how have you done that?
09:01Wait, did I not open...
09:02I didn't open this!
09:03You didn't go past me.
09:04No.
09:05Yeah, you've been amazing.
09:06Oh, I found you and then just left!
09:08I know where Joe is, I don't know where Ren is.
09:10What?
09:10I don't know where anyone is!
09:13I don't know where they both are!
09:14I don't even know where I am at the minute!
09:16Emma, is this something that's going to take me like six hours?
09:19Joe, what's your favourite mathematical equation and why?
09:23Well, you know, I use the slope equation all the time in my work, so that's become second nature.
09:28It really does feel like Joe's upstairs.
09:31It feels like Joe's up high.
09:34But I don't...
09:34Have you read Stephen Wolfram's A New Kind of Science, Fred?
09:37Are you using cellular automata in your build patterns?
09:40I've not read that, but it sounds interesting.
09:42Tell me more about it.
09:43Ren, are there any books on architecture you could recommend me?
09:47I've not read any books on architecture, uh, recently.
09:50Are they at least in really good hiding spots?
09:53I don't know how Ren is still hidden.
09:58Oh, is he up here?
10:00And is there like some leafage that you can jump across to?
10:03No.
10:04I've just seen how we got up there.
10:06That's insanity.
10:09He's a good spot.
10:10How is everywhere that I go cold?
10:26Where is Ren?
10:28He's unshifting.
10:29Come by me, Mumbo.
10:30You literally walked past me about six times, dude.
10:32No way!
10:33This is one of the hiding spots I built.
10:35Come down here.
10:36No way are you just in there?
10:38In here.
10:39You came up this ladder like five times.
10:41I still- look!
10:42Look, the real hide-and-seek here.
10:43I'm looking through the flimmin' agenda right now.
10:45I still can't find this hide-and-seek thing.
10:47It's the last item on the agenda.
10:50Oh, during the stream we will decorate the inside of- wait.
10:52Yeah, no, it does say that.
10:54There's no way you said that at the time.
10:56There's no way.
10:57It does also say in brackets edited.
10:59Azuma had me edit something out right after the meeting.
11:02That's not that.
11:02It's weird.
11:03The edit was at 8pm on Sunday today, but it was strange.
11:06Thank you, Joel.
11:07Thank you, Joel.
11:08Just waking up from a nap and I'm vulnerable to misinformation, all right?
11:11And I'm glad- I'm glad that you've-
11:14The entire server gaslighting you at once.
11:16Yeah.
11:17After that incredibly disorientating experience,
11:19I decided to show Ren and Azuma my skillager pack,
11:22and I had a terrible idea.
11:23Yo, here's what we do, Mumbo.
11:25Here's what we do.
11:25Do we make this the server resource pack for a few days?
11:27We can do it, we can bring it.
11:29And don't tell anyone.
11:30That's it, it stays here.
11:31Yeah, it's just between us.
11:33I mean, Ren is streaming right now.
11:34Ren is streaming right now.
11:36Yeah, but it's fine.
11:36But nobody in Ren's chat.
11:38It's fine, it's fine.
11:40No one will say anything.
11:41Don't say anything to anyone.
11:43From tomorrow, every villager is going to be scared.
11:46I can literally do it right now if you want.
11:48I thought this was only going to be temporary.
11:52X left on the server for two days.
11:54I'm so sorry.
11:55Oh my goodness.
11:57Oh my goodness.
11:58No, no, no, no.
12:00We decided to turn fire tick on and immediately,
12:04immediately, it's not working out well for me.
12:07Oh gosh.
12:08Oh gosh.
12:09Why is there fire in there?
12:10I don't even think I put fire in there.
12:12Oh my word.
12:13Oh my word.
12:14Wait, what?
12:15What is this?
12:15Is this an armor stand?
12:18Wouldn't the geese get struck by lightning and fire out an armor stand?
12:21I mean, that would make sense.
12:22There's another one.
12:23I mean, this is kind of cool.
12:24Like this is, this is kind of a cool effect.
12:26I need to inspect this.
12:27What is going on with this interior?
12:31How much of this can stay?
12:33You know what?
12:34I don't like, I don't hate it, hate it.
12:36It's certainly better than it was before,
12:37but it might need a slight remodel for it to be useful.
12:41I mean, a good example is I currently am lost.
12:45I don't know how to get back up to where I literally just came from.
12:49I mean, I definitely appreciate the effort put in.
12:51Like this is, it's one of those things.
12:53Even though it looks like a complete mad house of blocks,
12:56like there's, there's been thought put into this.
12:58Like this is, this is a very diverse block selection.
13:02We've got mini blocks.
13:04Like it doesn't actually look that terrible.
13:07Effort has been put in here and I am going to honor it with, with some mild changes.
13:11I might even keep my valuables down in the maze section to stop Grian from getting to them.
13:16Although I guess Grian built the maze.
13:18Nothing is ever safe.
13:19It is time to build some windmills.
13:21I am back in the animated fans testing world.
13:24This one still gives me an outrageous amount of joy, but I have, I have a sort of goal.
13:28I want to make a, a windmill with blades.
13:31What do you, what do you call them?
13:32I mean, I guess this is going to be one of the electricity windmills.
13:35It's going to look like a traditional windmill, but it is going to be for electricity.
13:38Does it still got a windmill?
13:40Wind turbine.
13:40I want to make one with the blades sort of this sort of size,
13:43but I want to make the redstone narrower.
13:46And I want to try, try to have a little bit of, of the fan edge overhanging.
13:53So we don't have to have a casing on it.
13:55This could be hard.
13:56Will it be hard?
13:58I mean, with something like this and then with trap doors covering all the front.
14:01I'm actually just trying to work out if there's a way that I can do this without
14:04doing the observer cycling and instead doing it almost in frames.
14:08So if I power just those blocks, then we get this sort of setup happening,
14:13which is kind of like the neutral stage of the two spinny blade things.
14:18And then if I power, say this, uh, yeah, we get this.
14:24And then maybe with some redstone dust up there.
14:28Oh, but then I'd need some way to block it off.
14:30I need to make sure that this also gets powered.
14:33Then that's great.
14:35Although we probably could do with that as well.
14:37I have no idea if this is going to work.
14:42Okay.
14:42I mean, it technically does work technically, but my goodness is the animation awful.
14:48There's, there's so much wrong with this.
14:50I, oh, do I just go?
14:52Look how much better the smooth ones look.
14:54Even that one that's broken looks better.
14:56Okay.
14:56It's time to go back to the drawing board.
14:57I actually kind of wanted to be smaller.
15:00See, I'm not going to build one windmill.
15:02I want multiple small windmills that are all going to be connected with power lines.
15:06Now I know that these are going to be absolutely whizzing round.
15:09But how does this look?
15:13That's pretty windmilly, right?
15:15Like if anything, that's actually good.
15:17That looks much less like a fan and much more like windmill blades.
15:21Or windmill oars.
15:24What are they called?
15:25Sails.
15:26They're sails.
15:27These actually look so much more like sails.
15:29That has gone spectacularly.
15:31This is a fan for sure.
15:33That over there is a windmill.
15:34And the super cool thing about this design is that the blades can actually overhang the edge
15:38of the structure.
15:39And also there can be a pretty significant gap between the edge of the structure
15:44and the actual blades themselves, which frees us up to do lots of interesting stuff.
15:48I think we can all agree that has gone spectacularly well.
15:52So now let's start building on the Hermitcraft server.
15:54Let's have a serious thing about this.
15:55So where, where do we want these windmills to go?
15:58I am going to have more than one because again,
15:59I want them to be a bit like wind turbines where we're generating electricity.
16:03So we need multiple.
16:04And at some point I would like to get some kind of power line system done.
16:08And then maybe like electricity storage.
16:10We'll get onto that eventually.
16:11But if we think of the composition of the base,
16:14I mean this, this area up here seems like a good platform.
16:18And then this area up here seems like a good platform.
16:21And then it will be like the big build.
16:23And then a small windmill sort of sitting there.
16:26And then a small windmill sitting out the back here.
16:29I still want my base to be the focal point and sort of the biggest thing on the horizon.
16:34And then they trickle off as they go off into the distance.
16:38I think, I think that should look good.
16:40There we go.
16:41Thought process.
16:43Thunk.
16:44Thoughted.
16:44Done thought.
16:45So after two hours of agonizing over these decisions,
16:48it's now time to start placing blocks.
16:50Oh gosh.
16:50Gem's judging where I'm placing my blocks.
16:53I think this feels pretty good.
16:56Yeah, this, this feels like a good spot.
16:59It's kind of, it's kind of close to this edge.
17:02It's not overhanging in any way.
17:04It's got a decent distance from my build, but then it's also close enough to it.
17:08But it also has a decent distance from the next one.
17:10I've added a little bit of copper action in here as well, because sometimes I think that
17:15tough can actually almost look like a metal.
17:18And then the copper almost makes it feel like this is now rusty old metal.
17:22And then I think this over here is kind of going to act as almost like a plinth.
17:28But I don't want the entire thing to be made out of the tough blocks or copper.
17:32I actually do want a lot of mangrove in this.
17:35I envisioned it being red.
17:38Windmills are just red in my head.
17:39I desperately need to install some paths into this area because I'm just constantly trampling crops.
17:44I actually really want to speak to someone like Bdubs or Scar about the creation of paths,
17:48because I saw a clip of them discussing where a path should go and like the angle of a curve.
17:54And it made me realize I know nothing about that sort of stuff and have never thought about it.
17:58This right here is going to be the height of the actual windmill itself.
18:02And I've kind of tried to mimic the idea of like this, this sort of like indent overhang thing,
18:08but on a smaller scale.
18:09Remember, these are meant to have been built by the same person.
18:12They were built by the same person, me.
18:13This is why you never invite friends to your house.
18:15They always mess with your trapdoors.
18:17Okay, things are looking a little bit strange.
18:19But yeah, if we imagine the spinner on top,
18:22I think we've got the scale about right for maybe a little bit bigger.
18:26Have I given myself enough space for the redstone?
18:28So that's where observers and then the cycling observers, repeaters,
18:33the locking repeaters here, and then there'll be redstone.
18:35Okay, there needs to be a redstone line.
18:38And this will all be trapdoors.
18:40These will be the sails.
18:41Oh my goodness, it looks so weird.
18:43I am looking at it from an awkward angle though.
18:45If I look at it from a better...
18:47No, it's still...
18:49It still looks weird.
18:50But obviously it looks weird.
18:52There's basically nothing to it right now.
18:53How do I allow so much doubt to creep in?
18:56Oh my goodness, Jem is beginning work on the nether hub.
18:59That is so exciting.
19:00Oh my goodness, there is Jem.
19:01Your boy may have needed more than six chickens for this tunnel.
19:03Is there a way for me to get more of these?
19:05Yes.
19:06It's not what I'm here for, but I think doing those
19:09surrounding the edges of my wheat field would be a good way to transition the wheat field
19:13back into regular terrain.
19:15I also really want to build almost like a plow going across the wheat field.
19:19And these, these look like freshly cut wheat.
19:24I guess like the top has been chopped off of them.
19:26So I think that could look super cool.
19:28Anyway, right.
19:28Let's grab ourselves a little bit of terracotta.
19:30I think that this should hopefully do the trick for the foreseeable future.
19:33I don't know if this single chicken is going to cut it.
19:35How is this feeling?
19:38That, that feels good.
19:39I'm hoping that I can make use of the saplings that Ren left
19:42stranded in her chest somewhere over here to get myself some pale oak.
19:45Is that them down there?
19:47Let's see.
19:48Yes.
19:48Okay.
19:49Now, my only hope is that when these leaves decay, they give me enough
19:52saplings to actually make another one of these trees.
19:54Otherwise, I'm going to need to go on a long walk.
19:56I have two, now three, and four.
19:59I desperately need to get myself a proper sorting system.
20:01I keep forgetting how early in the season we are.
20:04I'm having to gather up cobblestone.
20:05And I need to remember not to ignore iron as well.
20:08It's time to start placing in all of the sails.
20:10Okay.
20:11Those are flipping out correctly.
20:12And then these ones, yeah, flip downwards like this.
20:17Okay.
20:17Am I done?
20:18Have I managed to pull it off?
20:20Yes, that is all of them.
20:22Oh gosh, yeah.
20:22It is a bit tricky to do all of these observers in survival.
20:25There we go.
20:26That should be all the ones powering the trapdoors.
20:28Then we want it to be going clockwise.
20:30So our observers are going to be facing across like this.
20:34That should do it.
20:38And that is immediately going to start the noise.
20:41But now I can switch it off by locking the repeaters.
20:44That's all good.
20:45And then when I unlock the repeaters,
20:46we should have two sails.
20:49It certainly sounds good.
20:52And it looks good as well.
20:53Yes, that is a proper little windmill.
20:56It still needs a lot of detailing.
20:58Don't think that this is the finished article just yet.
21:00It is still very much in its ugly phase,
21:02but it's a functional ugly phase.
21:05Yes.
21:06Yeah, that looks so cool.
21:07Oh my goodness.
21:08That actually looks really, really good.
21:10That is going to look awesome with another one over there as well.
21:13And with it looking more detailed, this looks super strange.
21:16Maybe the one on this end should be just a little bit taller.
21:18Maybe it should be on a stand almost.
21:20That way you sort of get something like this happening.
21:23Definitely something to think about for the time being.
21:25I'm going to do all the details on this.
21:26And I think I'm going to copy exactly what I've done for the house.
21:29Just a whole bunch of chains and wires and bits.
21:32Oh yeah, I'm so glad that I decided to kick this thing to action while I'm still working on it.
21:37Minecraft is just, it's just such a relaxing game, isn't it?
21:39It's just, it's just, you really do feel at peace while you're playing it.
21:44I don't really know what I'm doing at this point in time, but it kind of feels good.
21:48I'm like fleshing out the base, just adding some more texture to it.
21:51Already things are improving.
21:54I do think it needs some extra height on the top.
21:56I don't know why, but I do feel like there would just be like hay bales round off this top just a little bit.
22:01And maybe even just like a couple, a couple of antenna.
22:08We might actually have ourselves.
22:15Oh, I almost just threw up.
22:16I think my esophagus just inverted.
22:18If there are any doctors in the chat, please, um, if you could give me a diagnosis, that'd be great.
22:22Anyway, let's check out the viewpoint.
22:23Yes, yes, that looks, firstly, what?
22:27How is it that I've placed like a handful of chains and it looks infinitely better?
22:31I think the extra tallness, even if it's just like these little bits has really helped the build.
22:36But secondly, I'm so happy that it actually looks like an electricity generating windmill,
22:43as opposed to a fan, if that makes sense.
22:46Like this feels like it's capturing energy.
22:49And I think that will be more so the case if we do manage to do some form of wiring system.
22:55The thing that I'm really, really happy about, though, is it also completely fits my junk yard
23:00assembled aesthetic, which I will get onto in a little bit.
23:03I realize I haven't quite explained what my theme is going to be for this season.
23:07And I'll be sharing little tidbits throughout the next couple of episodes.
23:10Oh, it looks so cool from here as well.
23:12Yes, yes, I actually really like the subtle scoop that the fan has as well,
23:19because of the fact that the outside trap doors are set slightly back.
23:23It just gives it a cool aesthetic.
23:24It just looks cool.
23:25So now let's build up the second one.
23:27And while I do that, let's talk about the junkyard aesthetic.
23:29What am I actually going for here?
23:31Well, for Hermitcraft season 11, at least for the time being,
23:34I see myself as a bit of an engineer, a scrapyard engineer, let's say.
23:39And I'm taking pieces of mechanical machinery and old disused robots and repurposing them.
23:46I'm slamming things together that definitely didn't previously exist together.
23:50I'm bootlegging things.
23:51I'm jerry-rigging everything to create my creations.
23:54Everything's rusty.
23:56Everything looks mildly faulty, but it has a lot of heart.
23:59And I would say these little wind turbines fit quite nicely into that description.
24:03This is cool, Mumbo.
24:04This is really cool.
24:06Yeah, I'm trying my best.
24:07In fact, actually, you are someone that I wanted to ask,
24:10could you build power lines in Hermitcraft season 10?
24:12I know they kind of like went across your base.
24:14Yeah.
24:14Yeah, they did.
24:15Okay.
24:15So that was you that built them.
24:16Yeah, I built power lines.
24:17It went from like Grand to me to Tango.
24:19And I put sparks in them using fireworks.
24:22See, yeah, that is super cool.
24:24And I was just wondering, like, is there like a knack to it?
24:29And I'm trying to...
24:30No.
24:31Okay, so you just...
24:31It's so...
24:32Just chains.
24:33And then, if you want the spark part, it's just a dispenser and a solar panel.
24:37It's so easy.
24:37Even I can do it.
24:38Yeah, that...
24:39So that's cool.
24:40That's cool.
24:40I like that you've called it a solar panel as well.
24:42We've got new redstone components.
24:44Oh.
24:44Like, the idea is that these are like my two very DIY, like, electric wind turbines.
24:50Like, they're...
24:51Right.
24:51They're like wind turbines, right?
24:53Like, that's kind of the idea.
24:54I want to connect them up to some form of power grid, and I'm trying to decide whether
24:57I do like the hard lines, or if I do something almost a bit like what Scar's got going on with
25:02his chains, where I can get some scoopage going.
25:04Because I do feel like I could scoop these quite well between one another.
25:08If I'm going to connect them all together, some like scooping...
25:12I think you should scoop, Mumbo, because I did the chains, and you couldn't change heights.
25:17No.
25:17I just don't know how to build a scoop.
25:19I'm going to be...
25:20This is going to be worse than the geese.
25:22I keep putting myself in situations where it's like, I have to build something...
25:25It can't be worse than the geese.
25:27There's not going to be wardens involved.
25:29You've already improved.
25:30Oh, that's true.
25:30That's true.
25:31Yeah.
25:31Yeah.
25:32I think, yeah, getting the resources should hopefully be easier than the geese.
25:35But like, the brain power required, like, to...
25:39Yeah.
25:39Getting the gravity convincing.
25:41Because it has to be lowest at a point that looks like it should be lowest, right?
25:46Yeah.
25:46That is hard.
25:47Is there like a tool that I can use?
25:49Is there like Wolfram Alpha in Minecraft?
25:52Can I use that?
25:54I don't know what that is, but...
25:56It's like a maths thing.
25:58I believe in you.
25:58Yes.
25:59You're going to cook, Mumbo.
26:01You are the wolf guy.
26:02Yeah.
26:03The Wolfram Alpha.
26:05Full name.
26:05Yeah.
26:06That's like very...
26:07I don't know what coded, but it's something coded.
26:10Yeah.
26:10You're Wolfram Beta right now.
26:12You're working towards Alpha.
26:13You're not there yet.
26:14I got an 8 pixel moustache.
26:16I gotta be at least...
26:18I gotta be at least Sigma.
26:19No, no, no, no.
26:19I don't know where that fits in the equation, but...
26:22I'm committed to the droop.
26:23And I've come up with a solid plan.
26:26I'm going to take a screenshot from here.
26:29I'm then going to come into Adobe Illustrator and put lines connecting up the builds.
26:34Tweak it to my heart's content to get it absolutely perfect.
26:37I've put it in grey to give us a good impression.
26:39I...
26:40Yeah, I...
26:40I like it.
26:41I like it.
26:42I'm then going to export it as PNG and import it to OBS with a low opacity.
26:47And then hopefully...
26:50Yes.
26:51Yes.
26:52Yes.
26:52Okay.
26:53I just need to leave this like this and then I can...
26:56I can get another account open.
26:58I need to take that to my other screen.
27:00And then I need to try my best to match up with the lines.
27:04I'm...
27:05I'm sort of in the weak field at the minute.
27:07I'm going to try and find where the lowest point is.
27:10This is somewhere about here.
27:12And I'm going to make my way along.
27:14I mean, I'm following it pretty well.
27:15We have made contact.
27:16And now I just need to make my way over to the other side.
27:19I'm being deafened.
27:20I mean, that kind of has worked, you know.
27:22It actually feels strange playing full screen Minecraft now.
27:25You know what, team?
27:26I do think I need to add like a little something up at the top here that kind of denotes the attachment
27:31points, but I genuinely think droop level is pretty good.
27:37I actually think we've got quite good droop there.
27:40If I add some soul lanterns into this as well, which kind of just denote electricity for some
27:45reason and then maybe some chains and bits like dangling off it, I think that will help too.
27:51So now it's time to do the other one.
27:52Oh my goodness.
27:53That's making me feel ill.
27:54Again, I have to find the midpoint between the two of them and then find the maximum sag area.
27:59I think the reality is you have to commit to the sag.
28:01Yeah, I think this, oh, that's a good one.
28:03I would say this has gone pretty well.
28:06Oh my goodness.
28:06Check this out.
28:09That's pretty accurate to what I drew.
28:11I'm actually so happy about that.
28:13So after my brief stroke of genius actually paid off, it's time to add all the details in.
28:18It even looks cool from this angle here.
28:20In fact, this might be one of my new favorite angles of the base.
28:23I do have a lot of tidying up to do in this area.
28:25Mind you, that'll be coming.
28:27Now, I think in terms of placement of these lanterns, I should use them as a way to ease
28:31the block transitions.
28:33So where we're going from this to this, I can then, I can then chuck that in and it'll
28:38kind of take some of the edge off maybe.
28:39That seems like the smartest way to use them in my eyes.
28:42And wow.
28:43Yeah, I was right.
28:44That has actually made that look like a smooth curve.
28:47Fantastic.
28:47Okay.
28:48Let's do it on this.
28:49This one's been a little bit more troubling to construct, but I think I've just about pulled
28:54it off.
28:54Yeah.
28:55Feeling pretty happy with that.
28:56I've also added a few extra gubbins and things to the side of this.
29:00And I think it looks pretty cool as well.
29:02So I'm going to do it here and here.
29:04Now everything is all done and dusted.
29:07And this is what we currently have.
29:10Oh my goodness.
29:10Oh my goodness.
29:11Oh my goodness.
29:12I guess you could say my build is fire.
29:14No, it's not fire.
29:15It's electric.
29:16Yeah.
29:17I'd understand if you're unsubscribed now.
29:18I noticed you've added your swoops.
29:21I have.
29:22I have.
29:22I Wolfram Alpha did.
29:24The thing about the bars is they're not as subtle as the chains, but you get the swoop.
29:28No, this is the thing.
29:29It's like they are.
29:30It is a lot.
29:32I honestly don't know how I feel about it.
29:34And you and you saying that has made me think that maybe I should have done the wrong thing.
29:38No, you haven't done the wrong thing because chains could not do that.
29:41Chains, like chains not, chains can't.
29:44They can't do that.
29:45Tricky.
29:45It's tricky.
29:46You've Elf-ed it though.
29:48And that's what's important.
29:49Maybe I should do what Scar's done.
29:50Maybe I should add like some of the copperiness.
29:53They're probably more subtle.
29:54Like if I added some rust into the, into the middle bits.
29:57Do you know what?
29:57They are more subtle.
29:58Yeah.
29:59Why am I, I keep choosing tasks that are like on paper, really simple and just taking it forever.
30:07Every detail you do is like 10 hours of work.
30:10I swear.
30:11It's like the geese is like a single block.
30:14Like I just, I can't stop choosing things that are just, just, just terrible to do.
30:21Like I'm enjoying myself, which is important, but like, it's, it's, it sucks.
30:27It sucks to be me.
30:29After briefly crashing out and questioning why I ever speak to Jem,
30:32because it always leads to more work.
30:33Oh, Jem was so right though.
30:35This was a good choice.
30:36This was a good choice.
30:37This was a very good late night decision.
30:39I'm feeling happy.
30:40That looks much more subtle, especially when it oxidizes.
30:43Currently it's in its most offensive state.
30:46It's only going to get better from here.
30:47It's that color there that we're aiming for.
30:49And I think that will look perfect.
30:50Then once we get a little bit of a focal point going on in the field there,
30:54a little bit of action happening in this area,
30:57and then maybe a structure down in a gap there, we will have an incredibly gorgeous setup.
31:03But now it is time for me to go to bed.
31:04I have been working on this for far too long.
31:06I've woken up this morning with an urge to spring clean.
31:09So I've given myself an hour.
31:10Let's go.
31:11First things first, I want to transform the edge of my wheat field
31:14by filling it in with moss.
31:17And then out of curiosity, I can place these here.
31:21Okay, so then I'm going to have a little bit of the dried grass going around like this.
31:27So then it kind of looks like the wheat field is fading out.
31:29I'm going to be honest.
31:31I actually think this task alone could eat up the entire hour.
31:35Because we're already five minutes in and I've only done this much.
31:38But my goodness, does it look better.
31:39Okay, I'll give myself two hours.
31:41I'm also going to be intelligent.
31:42I'm going to split up my plans into two passes.
31:45First pass is the moss pass.
31:46I need to fill in this creeper hole.
31:47I've said it hundreds of times now,
31:49but I genuinely think that moss spreading is one of my favorite game mechanics in Minecraft.
31:53I genuinely think that the addition of moss has improved
31:58the average landscape of the average Minecraft builder by like 80%.
32:02We have actually sped round and done the full moss loop.
32:05I hope that that is all looking good.
32:07Now I'm going to do a quick run around and just remove any visual noise
32:11and things that are distracting from the actual field itself.
32:14So a lot of these acacia trees and a lot of these flowers and sunflowers.
32:19Next, I'm going to set myself up with a very small dried grass creator.
32:26This seems like a significantly easier way of doing things.
32:31And now I can freely just place these in without really having to worry too much.
32:35I can even break them by accident and not panic.
32:38Well, that has gone remarkably well.
32:39I've managed to make my way all the way around and I think things look good from here.
32:43I'm extremely curious how they look from afar.
32:45This is looking...
32:48Well, it's looking significantly better than it did before.
32:51I think we need a little bit more of the tall grass in this area.
32:55And then we definitely need to grow some of them up.
32:58I completely forgot to add any bone mills.
33:00There's kind of no variation.
33:02Would another windmill look good on a little platform down there?
33:06And then hooking them up together.
33:07I think it probably would.
33:08I'm not going to do it today.
33:09Let me know down in the comment section.
33:10Enjoy your meal, small dry plant.
33:12Okay, everything has been bone milled.
33:14Everything is looking better.
33:15Now what I'm going to do is run through and place sunflowers wherever I think there's a high
33:21chance that people are going to trample crops anyway.
33:23I guess I can also mix in the dried grass as well.
33:28In fact, on the hillsides, I'd say the dried grass is probably less offensive
33:34than a bunch of sunflowers next to one another.
33:37Wow.
33:37Yeah, immediately that looks 10 times better.
33:40This, this moss block here is offending me.
33:43I think it's time to start adding a small handful of hay bales.
33:46I think this is looking pretty good.
33:48Just, just like a couple here and there.
33:50Nice, nice, nice.
33:51Already looking much more complete.
33:53Now that I'm looking at this though, I think anywhere that there's a two block
33:57height difference on the wheat looks a bit pants.
34:01I think I should run around and just smooth that out.
34:04Feels like a pointless job, but this is why I allotted this time.
34:06Is that done?
34:08I think that's done.
34:09Now let's quickly remove all of the stuff that was added to my base.
34:12Not sure I'm the biggest fan of this chimney.
34:15I actually don't hate this one, but I think I'm going to remove it.
34:18I might end up adding a similar chimney in the future.
34:22Nice.
34:22That's all looking much tidier now.
34:24Now it's time for a honey gathering mission.
34:25Yeah, I thought that happened.
34:26I thought that happened.
34:27I thought that happened.
34:28Oh, I'm sorry, little one.
34:32Let's actually use the dispenser method.
34:33While I am back over here though, I actually think...
34:38Campfire.
34:38Yes, that looks so cool.
34:40Cheers in dispenser.
34:41Dispenser powered.
34:43Yes, much better for the bees.
34:46You were like right next to me a minute ago.
34:48Was I?
34:49And so, yeah, I used the locator bar to try to come find you.
34:54And then you've just done like a massive circle around this area.
34:57Yep.
34:58Yeah, that's me.
34:58Yeah, I'm looking for...
35:00I'm looking for...
35:00I'm trying to get honeycomb and I'm just doing it like...
35:03I'm just completely just going between beehives with my dispenser and my shears.
35:09I can hook you up if you just need some stuff.
35:11Wait, so you do...
35:12Do you have like a little honey farm set up or...?
35:14Yeah, I got both.
35:16Oh, for goodness sake.
35:17Yeah, let's go back.
35:19Let's walk towards wherever that is.
35:21I just realised I've still got a Skizz's pack on, so I still walk fast and still got the sounds.
35:27Here, check it out.
35:29I'll tell you what, Mumbo, you can have chicken.
35:31No way.
35:32I no longer need chicken services.
35:34I've got loads of the honeycomb and beehives and stuff left over if you need anything.
35:38Oh, I mean, I wouldn't mind pinching this much.
35:42Yeah, take what you need.
35:42Well, that's gone extremely well.
35:44I now have a high-velocity horse and three stacks of honeycomb.
35:47Now I can finally get everything looking exactly how I intended it to look.
35:51Yes, look at that.
35:52That is so much better.
35:53A lot of this is now the right level of oxidized as well, so I can just get straight to wax in that.
35:57I think that's everything.
35:59Perfect.
36:00That looks so much better.
36:02The copper colour just looks much more subtle.
36:04The final thing I have to do is all of these lightning rods,
36:06which hopefully I should be able to do with my happy ghast.
36:09Come on, he's coming close to the ground.
36:10I don't have any snowballs.
36:11Come on.
36:14Ah, yes.
36:15I don't know how he got all the way over here, to be honest with you.
36:17Oh, my base looks so cool from up here.
36:19That is the first set done.
36:20I think I'm going to leave the back ones with them.
36:24I like the subtle differences between all of the geese.
36:27Cool.
36:28That is the bottom layer all done.
36:30Let's go for the top layer.
36:31And that is it.
36:32All the geese are fully waxed.
36:34And I'm touching down on the ground with just two minutes to spare,
36:37which gives me just enough time to clear up this little mess.
36:39Come on.
36:40Yes.
36:41Get on this lead.
36:42There we go.
36:43Boom.
36:44And now I run over to the viewpoint.
36:46Wow.
36:46What an episode.
36:47We have achieved a lot.
36:48Like, we've managed to sort out the geese.
36:50We've managed to build windmills,
36:51have a ton of fun with all of the other hermits,
36:52do a bunch of spring cleaning.
36:54I'm feeling incredibly good about how we're doing here.
36:57What an awesome start to an awesome base.
36:59But I must admit, spending time with Azuma has made me realise
37:02I have skipped a lot of steps in this world.
37:04I've jumped straight to geese and building fake electrical lines.
37:10I need to sort myself out with some proper stuff.
37:12So that will be my objective in the next Hammitcraft episode.
37:14For now, I hope you enjoyed and I'll catch you in the next one.
37:16See ya!
