Disney backed up its claims that Disney+'s first-day glitches were the result of high consumer demand, revealing Tuesday that the streaming service had hit 10 million signups since its Nov. 12 launch.

00:00Okay, everybody, let's take it from the top.
00:06It's been pretty much impossible to go on social media
00:08without seeing every millennial talking about
00:10reliving their childhood and teen years
00:12thanks to the seemingly endless bank of content
00:15on Disney+.
00:16Whether it's streaming animated classics
00:18or their favorite DCOMs of yesteryear,
00:20the 20 and 30-somethings say
00:21they may never leave their homes again.
00:23And I mean, I get it.
00:24Now, just one day after its launch,
00:26Disney's revealed that the streaming service
00:27has hit 10 million sign-ups,
00:30backing up its claims that Disney+,
00:31his first day glitches were the result
00:33of high consumer demand.
00:35Going forward, Disney said that it wouldn't provide
00:37subscriber updates about Disney+,
00:39outside of its quarterly earnings calls.
00:43But bounty hunting is a complicated profession.
00:46The platform launched with the original Star Wars series,
00:49The Mandalorian, as well as a library of nearly 500 movies,
00:52including several Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel,
00:56and Star Wars titles,
00:57and some 7,500 TV episodes,
01:00including the entire library of The Simpsons.

01:07CEO Bob Iger expects the $7 per month offering
01:10to reach between 60 and 90 million global subscribers
01:13within its first five years.
01:15The one analyst recently forecast
01:17that it would hit more than 100 million subscribers by 2025.
01:21With 10 million in sign-ups,
01:22Disney+, is off to a strong start,
01:24though not all of those people are likely to stay
01:26with the service when the promotions and free trials end.
01:29However, it will take a lot to surpass Netflix,
01:31which has a market-leading 158 million subscribers worldwide.
