Transcript
00:00Ladies and gentlemen, Adrian Seymour is here!
00:07We make sure we hype up our guests.
00:10Right, we hype each other up.
00:12Ladies and gentlemen, Paul!
00:16Our studio audience is us.
00:17Welcome, ladies and gentlemen.
00:18I'm here with Adrian Seymour.
00:19You know her as Cindy from Orange is the New Black.
00:21You also know her as her name, Adrian.
00:23Great to meet you.
00:24What's up?
00:25It's five with my little eye.
00:29Beautiful.
00:30Thank you, thank you.
00:31Let's get into it.
00:32We have a lot to talk about.
00:33I want to start, obviously, with the last season.
00:35We ain't got much time before they start bringing in the tanks.
00:38But yo, we got a chance to be heard.
00:40And I ain't talking about no internet bullshit heard.
00:43I'm talking about Obama 08 Hopi Changi heard.
00:47How are you feeling about what happened this season?
00:49There's just so much.
00:50And we're all dying to just see what happens next.
00:52I'm dying to see what happens next.
00:54We've already started filming.
00:55Right.
00:56And I'm literally, every day, like, I have my people that I kind of like,
01:00So, what should I be expecting next episode?
01:04But they keep it, like,
01:09Locked with a key and then hit with a baseball bat.
01:12Mm-hmm.
01:13They don't let us know.
01:14They don't let us know.
01:15And specifically now, season six is in filming.
01:18When you first got the scripts for Now, can you tell me a little bit about what you first thought?
01:22Oh, my God.
01:23It's so good.
01:24And I'm always excited about every season and what's going to happen and so forth.
01:28But this season, I feel like it's an amazing facelift.
01:35You spoke to the Hollywood Reporter and mentioned a lot of things about the unity of the cast over this season.
01:40Yeah.
01:41And you said, at this point, there's kind of a decision that has to be made with the characters.
01:44Do we still unite and work together?
01:46Mm-hmm.
01:47Or am I worse off doing this?
01:48Toward the end of season five, there were some people that were agreeing to stick together.
01:54And there were some people that were looking out for themselves.
01:58And so we'll see the repercussions of those decisions in this next season.
02:04And literally, we just started.
02:06Mm-hmm.
02:07And so I don't, I can't even, I can't even, I don't even know really a lot to tell you beyond that.
02:14They don't want to tell us.
02:15And I asked, and I said, well, don't you guys want us to know so we can, you know, know going into the episodes, like what we're kind of snaking towards?
02:24And they said, no, because part of it is your discovery as the episodes go.
02:30If we tell you everything up front, then it might alter or shift or change how you might approach something if you didn't know what was going to happen.
02:40And I was like talking with the producers.
02:42I was like, come on, we've been at this for a while.
02:44Like, come on, like, woman and a man, like, come on, you know?
02:48Yeah.
02:49But he was like, no, we don't want to ruin it for you guys.
02:50We want you guys to take the journey and see what you discover that we may not have thought about.
02:55Right, a different angle.
02:56As we are writing it.
02:57We got a good thing here.
02:58Do we?
02:59Because it kind of feel like we ain't getting nowhere and everybody else getting somewhere.
03:04I'm curious to see as the story, as the season develops, how they will factor in some of the things that are going on in our culture and maybe even our world.
03:14And then also how we're able to still make it relevant to today.
03:19Like I said, I'm still trying to figure out where it's going.
03:22There's so much going on.
03:23You have the show.
03:24Tell me what else is happening with Adrian Seymour.
03:26We love you as Cindy, but I want to know more about what's going on.
03:28Oh, so I'm doing this project with LG.
03:30They've partnered with Summer Streets this weekend, Saturday.
03:34So if you're free, come on out.
03:37Adrian's going to be racing.
03:39They built this new washing machine, this dishwasher.
03:43We're running through this washing machine like an obstacle course.
03:46The first person that wins, it's like a big deal.
03:49That's awesome.
03:50So I'm doing that this weekend.
03:52But then more importantly, one of the things that I'm really excited about, I just partnered with this organization called Comfort Zone Camp.
03:59For kids who have lost a family member at a young age, so most a parent or sibling, and it's just a place for these kids to, you know, deal with loss, but also in a way that allows them to move forward.
04:16Because, I mean, I lost my father last year, and it was such a hard thing to do.
04:21He passed a cancer.
04:23In my dealing with it, I thought, you know, when you're going through hard things or when you're at a place of surplus or blessing in your life, you have to reach back and give back.
04:35And so this was one of the ways I wanted to give back.
04:37The last thing I want to ask you, if there's anything for Orange is the New Black fans out there to look forward to in the coming season, what would you say?
04:45Like a one-line phrase, in proper Cindy fashion.
04:48Y'all, this next season gonna be lit.
04:53Take the however you want, lit.
