00:01It was a beautiful day on the island of Sodor.

00:06Thomas was bringing his friend Alfie to a demolition site.

00:16Hello Thomas, rattled Jack.

00:19Hello Jack, puffed Thomas.

00:25I guess everyone likes demolition, said Thomas.

00:29I love demolition, said Alfie.

00:32It's when we get to knock buildings down.

00:35That's supposed to be fun, asked Thomas.

00:38The best fun, cried Alfie, and he swooped down the ramp.

00:54Later that morning, Alfie was happy that the foreman had sent him to work

01:05But as Alfie pulled up, Ned swung his bucket.

01:41At the workman's tea break, Thomas could see that Alfie was unhappy.

03:01There's a mother cat in here, and she's got kittens.

03:05We must rescue them, said Alfie.

03:08The building isn't safe, said the foreman.

03:11I can't send my men in there.

03:12I'll go, said Alfie bravely.

03:15I'm small enough to fit in.

03:17In no time, Alfie wriggled inside.

03:23The building creaked, and plaster flew.

03:27Alfie held up his scoop for the cat and the kittens to jump in.

03:31Here kitty, kitty, kitty, Alfie coaxed.

03:37But the cat and the kittens didn't move.

03:41Suddenly the upper wall started to crumble.

03:45Hurry kitty, kitty, Alfie cried.

03:47But it was too late.

03:49Quick as a wink, Alfie covered the cat and her kittens with his scoop.

03:54And just in time...

03:58Phew!

04:02The cat and the kittens were safe.

04:05Well done, said Miss Jenny.

04:07It's a fine family of kittens.

04:10I couldn't have rescued them if I'd been any bigger, said Alfie.

04:14You may be small, said Kelly.

04:17But you've got a big heart.

04:19And a really useful scoop, said Thomas.

04:22But no thanks to you two, she said to Monty and Max.

04:25You'll return to the yard immediately.

04:28Max and Monty were ashamed.

04:30They knew they were in trouble.

04:34Alfie was proud.

04:37And he never complained about being small again.

04:41That night at the yards, Miss Jenny had stern words for Max and Monty.

04:47You'll be spending the next three days in your sheds, she said.

04:51And you should be ashamed of yourselves.

04:53You could have seriously hurt someone with your carelessness.

04:56We're sorry, Miss Jenny, said Monty and Max.

05:01And they truly were.
