00:00Russia carries out massive strike on ordinary life in Ukraine.
00:05Russia launched one of its largest overnight aerial assaults in months, striking dozens
00:09of locations across central and eastern Ukraine, and killing at least four people, Ukrainian
00:14officials have reported.
00:16News.com has learned that the barrage, which included drones and missiles, caused widespread
00:21damage to residential areas and energy infrastructure as winter temperatures intensified.
00:28Iran's Air Force reported that Russia launched 503 projectiles overnight, including 458 drones
00:35and 45 missiles, in a coordinated attack stretching across multiple regions.
00:40According to the military, 415 of those projectiles were intercepted, but 78 struck targets in 25
00:47locations.
00:49President Volodymyr Zelensky said the strikes were aimed at ordinary life, residential buildings,
00:54our energy system and infrastructure.
00:56According to reports, Dnipro suffered some of the most severe losses.
01:01Regional officials said three people were killed and 11 others injured when a drone hit an
01:05apartment building, with children among the wounded.
01:08Three more people were injured in the Samarsky district of the broader Dnipropetrovsk region.
01:13In the Kharkiv region, at least one person was killed in the village of Rokitne.
01:17Eight were injured in Kharkiv suburbs, while additional injuries were reported in Chuhuiv and Hrusivka.
01:23The mayor of Kharkiv said the city is facing a significant electricity shortage following
01:27the attack.
01:29Authorities in the Poltava and Kyiv regions each reported one injured resident, with Poltava
01:34officials noting that damage to energy facilities cut off electricity, water and heating to several
01:39communities. Ukraine's state-run energy firm Naftogaz said the strikes marked the ninth major attack
01:45on gas infrastructure since early October. The firm accused Russia of intentionally targeting
01:50enterprises that provide Ukrainians with gas and heat during the winter months, warning that continued
01:56assaults could deepen humanitarian strains. Ukrainian officials said the latest wave of damage would
02:01require rapid emergency repairs to maintain heating and electricity amid freezing temperatures.
02:07The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed it carried out what it called a massive strike
02:11overnight. In a telegram post, the ministry said the targets included Ukrainian military
02:17and energy infrastructure, and described the operation as retaliation for Ukraine's terrorist
02:22attacks on civilian targets in Russia. However, Ukrainian leaders dismissed the claim, saying
02:27the strikes once again hit overwhelmingly civilian areas.
