31:11A Susquehanna Valley truck driver is dead tonight,
31:14a victim of a shooting in Maryland.
31:1749-year-old Robert Yost of Newville, Cumberland County,
31:20was shot twice after he pulled his rig into a loading dock
31:23at a supermarket in Clinton, Maryland.
31:26Yost was a driver for Super Right Foods in Harrisburg.
31:30Tonight, police in Maryland are searching for two suspects
31:33who fled in a Nissan Pathfinder.
31:36Police in Oklahoma City have charged a couple
31:39with torturing their son.
31:41The boy's mother and stepfather are accused of torturing him for eight weeks
31:45because they thought he had stolen $32,000 in drug money.
31:49Lane Sumner told police he was shocked with an electrical device,
31:52burned with an iron, and doused with bleach during the two-month ordeal.
31:56Still no arrest in the Susquehanna Valley's latest bank robbery.
32:01It happened at the First Valley Bank on Penn Square in downtown Lancaster
32:05just around 11 this morning.
32:07The bandit told a teller he had a gun, but she never saw one.
32:10He made off with an undetermined amount of money.
32:13The suspect is described as a white man, 40 to 50 years old, around 5'7",
32:19with a thin mustache with a yellowish tint to it.
32:22He was wearing a dark-colored jacket, a gray hooded sweatshirt,
32:25and a blue baseball cap.
32:27He was also wearing yellow surgical gloves.
32:30Competition on the rails and the need to stay on the right track.
32:33Those are the reasons Conrail is giving tonight for layoffs in Harrisburg.
32:37Thirty-six Conrail employees will lose their jobs
32:40when the rail line's Harrisburg offices close next year.
32:43More than a hundred other office workers and dispatchers
32:46will be transferred to offices in Albany, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh.
32:51Conrail tells News 8 it's trying to cut administrative costs.
32:54The company will give laid-off employees a chance for other openings with Conrail.
32:59We have positions across our system that become available,
33:04and our Human Resources Department will work with these folks
33:07to see if we can find a place on our system for them
33:11where they can be contributors to Conrail's future success.
33:15The Harrisburg offices will be phased out through August of next year.
33:19Some 1,700 workers at York's DynCorp are a little nervous about their jobs tonight.
33:24The letter processing company will be taken over by the U.S. Postal Service next year,
33:29and there are no guarantees for current employees.
33:32The Postal Service is telling them to fill out employment applications.
33:36Many of the jobs could be transitional, not permanent.
33:40Lancaster-based Armstrong World Industries is getting out of the furniture business.
33:44Armstrong is selling its Thomasville Furniture Division to Interco Incorporated of St. Louis.
33:51The price tag? A little more than $400 million.
33:54The deal is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
33:57Well, it's the event Beatles fans have waited more than 20 years for.
34:02The release of the first new Beatles studio recording since the Fab Four broke up.
34:06The new CD is supposed to go on sale at midnight,
34:09but it won't be a hard day's night for fans at this Harrisburg music store.
