00:00I'm skipping meals to make sure the kids are eating, you know, I'm worrying about how to make ends meet.
00:05You know, just yesterday I signed up to a nursing agency on top of the, you know, 37 hours I do a week.
00:11Can I put one word to you? Christmas.
00:13Yes. Oh, I know. I'm already really worried about it and that's exactly why I'm having to pick up extra shifts.
00:20And all my colleagues around me, you know, we are facing worries about economy, but then we're also worried about the fact of corridor care nurses.
00:27So we've got the worries about picking up extra shifts, but then when we're going to being doing our job as nurses,
00:32we aren't able to be the nurses that we want to doing because there aren't enough staff.
00:36So investing in the NHS, investing in staff is key to ensure that we're not having this drain.
00:42I was speaking to a nurse yesterday from Australia and just hearing about how much better off they're paid.
00:47It's no surprise that people are leaving this country in droves seeking a better life because the cost of living is just astronomical.
00:54But the conditions at work are appalling and the government has to address.
00:59And what they need to do, they need to start listening and working with the unions because the trade unions have answers as to what can be happening.
