00:04that Trump said about the murdered Saudi commentator Khashoggi,

00:10the extraordinarily positive things he said about the Saudi leader MBS.

00:17Was any of that a surprise to you?

00:20It's, you know, it's Trump, OK?

00:22It's not, as my daughter, who's 13, put it to me recently,

00:26she's like, I keep hearing you describe Donald Trump as a unique character.

00:29Is there such a thing as being too unique?

00:31Which I thought was a good description.

00:33He's never going to change. He's nearly 80.

00:36He's a trash-talking New York real estate magnate

00:39who became the most powerful guy in the world.

00:41And, yeah, he says stuff occasionally that makes me wince,

00:44makes most people wince.

00:45He does other things which I think are very effective

00:47by using the same blunt instrument technique.

00:50I would say, not as a defence, but as an explanation

00:52for why he is so rude to journalists in America,

00:56is that he has spent years being called a Nazi

00:59and a fascist by many of them,

01:00and I don't believe he's either a Nazi or a fascist.

01:02So I do think if you're going to get those kind of attacks,

01:05then calling somebody a little piggy may be indelicate,

01:09and I think ungentlemanly,

01:10but it's not as bad as being called a Nazi.
