05:44They have supported us a lot.
05:47Bank of Punjab, British Council, thank you very much.
05:51I don't know anything else except music to make a music.
05:56So I did the only work for the whole world.
06:03So this session is the same way that I am trying to do,
06:10Thank you very much.
06:40For this creative writing workshop, it's titled The Story Maker Studio and I will be chairing it.
07:04It's a fun, engaging two-session workshop designed for teenagers between the ages of 12 and 18.
07:12We want to foster young writers, their talent, help them find their voices.
07:20It's an opportunity for them to express themselves.
07:23I think few festivals have done more to revive the cultural, intellectual and literary landscape of Pakistan
07:33and to create this space where so many people and stories and communities can come together and converge so meaningfully.
07:43Now this is another festival that we have started.
07:57Looking for the better part of my life, I've always been sort of loitering at these events,
08:05whether they be in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad.
08:08What a pleasure then it is to be invited to speak at one.
08:14And all the credit goes to the absolute national treasure that is Ms. Amina Syed.
08:20A round of applause for it.
08:23People start, people launch start-ups in their 20s.
08:28I launched mine in my 70s.
08:30I'm a writer.
08:34I am honored to be amongst my esteemed panelists and many more to come.
08:43I'm here only because of Amina, really.
08:47She's been my mentor and my role model.
08:51I've been my mentor and role model since I was about 18 years old.
08:55And over the many years that we've worked together on many, many collaborations,
08:59we have also become friends.
09:01And it's a friendship that I really treasure.
09:03So I'm really, I would go anywhere that she asks me to go.
09:08I am looking forward myself because not only am I going to be a panelist but I'm also going
09:12to be in the audience for many of these other excellent panels that are going to take place.
09:17And I'm really interested and glad to see the promotion of the language,
09:22one of the languages of Gilgit, Pakistan.
09:25Urushaski, to be precise.
09:27I think that's the one that's being featured at this festival.
09:31A lot of the books and authors, Mrs. Zubayla Mustafa was the editor of it and my colleagues,
09:39Shazia Hassan and Faheem Sarwa sitting here.
09:43I used to cover these festivals and I used to be in awe of Amina Syed and just to go and
09:53talk to her, who was like, you know, a huge honor.
09:57And last year she gave me this honor of publishing my book.
10:03It's a translation.
10:04It's called The Future of Civilization.
10:07And I'm going to do a book talk on the 22nd and 23rd summer and it's going to be about
10:16civilizational, ethical and moral values, the value of these values in society today.
10:24What's the meaning of a dissenter and a revolutionary years and what's the difference between them?
10:30Like these festivals are possible.
10:32As much of the literature festivals in Pakistan, these are possible because she has started
10:38this trend and laid this foundation.
10:40And those of the other festivals are made in the same framework.
10:46As much as possible, my work and focus is now that youth enrichment, youth to art,
10:57youth to dialogue.
10:59So I'm going to do a session with young actors, content creators, musicians, dancers,
11:05all of them will tell us about how are they available for youth?
11:09What are their journeys that you can replicate and learn from them?
11:14I feel very good.
11:17I'm going to take a look at the first edition.
11:19Now it's the 10th edition.
11:20The people say that where are they?
11:22The second step is the second step.
11:23The second step is the second step.
11:24The second step is the second step.
11:25So I'm very happy to see the festival.
11:27I've seen the festival and the second step.
11:30I've seen the day that I've seen the events and many events.
11:35And now I've seen the best positions.
11:37I've been doing my best.
11:39I've been doing my best.
11:40We've done the last year on our show.
11:42And I hope you can join us with all of these.
11:50Thank you, Ameena.
11:50Thank you, Ameena.
11:52Thank you so much for that you thank us.
11:54The thing we are giving you today is what we have delivered.
11:56As we are making a chance to know.
12:01I've worked with Ameena and I'll tell you,
12:05which is inclusive, which is all our provincials.
12:11Aminah was the first time.
12:15And this time, with her,
12:18we will have a whole session
12:20in which we are joining transgenders.
12:23The book is called Aminah,
12:26which is Lightstone, Queen's Up,
12:28which are transgenders.
12:32It was originally written in Pashto.
12:35So, I think that this festival
12:38has been a very big accomplishment.
12:41All provincial languages and gender
12:44are building a platform here.
12:47My name is Khadija Hussaini.
12:49I am an arts program coordinator
12:51at the British Council.
12:53Before this presentation,
12:55I want to share with you all.
12:58Because I want to share with you all.
13:02So, like I said, I am arts program coordinator
13:05of British Council,
13:06supporting the British Council arts team,
13:08as well as our equality, diversity, and inclusion workshop.
13:12So, it gives me immense pleasure
13:14to see the diverse program,
13:17the diverse voices that Aminah has so effortlessly brought together
13:26under one platform.
13:27So, congratulations, Aminah.

14:05My father passed away, Amina is my mother.
14:35And I just wanted to say that Abu had a masters in English literature and throughout my life I observed that he would, he was just into literature in the biggest way. Bigger than, much more than Amma was.
14:50And so this was actually the way, because Amma got married when she was very young and Abu has been, you know how they say there's always a great, behind every great woman, behind every great man there's a great woman.
15:05But behind Amma was my father.
