'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' stars Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby tell THR how exciting the journey is creating this film for Marvel Fans while at San Diego Comic-Con. Plus, Pedro Pascal speaks on why he prioritized creating this film, despite his busy schedule.
00:00How did being on that Hall H stage today energize you to start filming this week?
00:04You were saying something so special before that was never have we had the experience of being able to kind of make contact with the love of characters that we are just starting, that matches the love that we have for them right at the beginning of our journey.
00:23And that is a hell of a pick-me-up.
00:25Yeah, it's just really, how rare is that to be talking about it before you've even shot it?
00:33And luckily it doesn't feel too overwhelmingly scary and many things do but it doesn't because we're as a four together.
00:41So we're all going through it just like the characters went through things always together.
00:45You know, occasionally one of them left the group a little bit but they always came back.
00:49So here we are as a group coming out here and being with everybody that love them as much as we do, I hope.
00:55And we just want to have them in mind as we make the movie and remember that it's not just a lone acting journey here.
01:03We're doing it as a group but also we're joining a very long-standing, you know, part of popular culture, these characters.
01:11And I feel really blessed.
01:12I feel so blessed to get to know her and be part of this iteration of it and to be, the fact that it's back in Marvel's, you know, we get to make the film now with Marvel.
01:23It's just so exciting.
01:25Pedro, you're such a busy guy.
01:26It wasn't always clear if you were going to have time for this.
01:28How did you make time for this movie?
01:31Oh, good question.
01:35How did any of us?
01:36Well, they made it work.
01:40We made it work.
01:41And thank God.
01:44When you have to do something, you have to make it work.
01:48Why did you have to do it?
01:49Mainly because of the cast that I would be a part of, Matt Shackman, the director, who's been a lifelong friend of mine.
02:00And because of, you know, the influence of the world of Marvel that is like has authored, you know, so much of popular entertainment.
02:10And to actually be invited into that experience is something that I couldn't say no to.
02:18And I love the comic and I love being in a family.
02:22I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic and I love the comic.
