00:17Bilang Vice Chairperson ng Senate Committee on Finance, dinidepensahan ni Sen. Kiko Pangilinan ang budget ng Judicatura sa plenary deliberasyon ng 2026 General Appropriations Bill.
00:31Sa harap ng mga miyembro ng Judicatura, kabilang ang ilang justices, tinanong siya ni Sen. Jingo Estrada tungkol sa kanyang naging posisyon sa impeachment case ni Vice President Sara Duterte na i-dinaklara noon ng Korte Suprema na unconstitutional.

01:06Dito na inungkat ni Estrada ang sinabi noong opinion ni Pangilinan sa isang kokos ng mga senador na mas mataas ang Senate Impeachment Court kaysa sa Korte Suprema.
01:15I really beg to disagree that the Impeachment Court is higher than the Supreme Court, Mr. President.
01:20Well, it is higher in the sense that a sitting Supreme Court justice can be dismissed on impeachment cases by the Impeachment Court.
01:29In that regard, we are able to hold a Supreme Court justice to account.

01:39So, yeah, yeah, I know that because it was an impeachment...
01:43And that is the context of why I said that as an impeachment court, we are supreme in our own jurisdiction and maybe in fact higher than the Supreme Court in that regard.
02:03Dagdag ni Pangilinan, kahit na may pagkakataon na sumunod ng Impeachment Court sa Korte Suprema, nagbotohan pa rin sila at hindi agad sumunod sa utos ng kataas-taasang ukuman.
02:14Agad din namang inupurbahan sa plenaryo at din submitted na ang budget ng hudikatura matapos ang mahigit isang oras na deliberasyon.
