00:00This is really going to make a difference for millions and millions of lives
00:03and actually help us get to the end of AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.
00:13So this drug, lenacapavir, that is an injection twice a year,
00:19you know, that's now affordable, $40 per person per year,
00:25is making it accessible to millions and millions of people.
00:30Those that are adolescent girls and young women, for example,
00:37that are at risk of getting HIV on the continent of Africa.
00:41We want to get it to people that are at high risk of HIV as well.
00:48Those people that are key populations, men who have sex with men, sex workers.
00:53You know, we want to make sure that we are going where we are seeing.
00:57The data are telling us there are new infections on the rise,
01:00and we want to focus in those geographic areas.
01:03We are talking about it as a potential miracle drug.
01:13Right now, the fact that it is nearly 100% effective at stopping new infections is remarkable.
01:22It's unprecedented.
01:23It's the best thing we've got in the HIV response.
01:26We do not have a vaccine or a cure, but this is extraordinary.
01:31So what's going to be important is rolling this out quickly,
01:37as broadly as we can, in a very targeted way to the populations that need it.
01:42Thank you.
01:42Thank you.
