Defence Secretary John Healey warns a Russian spy ship is on the edge of UK waters as he issues a stark warning to Vladimir Putin. Mr Healey addressed Russia directly in a speech in Downing Street on Wednesday morning, saying: "We see you, we know what you're doing and if the Yantar travels south this week we are ready." 00:00As I speak, a Russian spy ship, the Yantar, is on the edge of the UK waters, north of Scotland,

00:07having entered the UK's wider waters over the last few weeks.

00:11This is a vessel designed for gathering intelligence and mapping our undersea cables.

00:18We deployed a Royal Navy frigate and RAF P-8 planes to monitor and track this vessel's every move,

00:27during which the Yantar directed lasers at our pilots.

00:33That Russian action is deeply dangerous.

00:36And this is the second time this year that this ship, the Yantar, has deployed to UK waters.

00:45So my message to Russia and to Putin is this.

00:49We see you, we know what you're doing, and if the Yantar travels south this week, we are ready.
