00:00Taiwan, competing under the name Chinese Taipei, has secured its first medal at the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics on Tuesday.
00:14At the Wei Yuzhe, won silver in the men's decathlon, finishing with almost 6,000 points.
00:20This marks the country's first medal in the sport since 2009.
00:24Wei previously won gold in the men's long jump and silver in the men's 100 meters at the World Deaf Youth Games in Brazil last year.
00:32His coach, Chen Yingqi, says he was happy with the result.
00:36I was the first time I attended the World Deaf Olympics.
00:39He was 18 years old and was able to win 10 games.
00:42In the high school, he didn't have a relationship with the society.
00:47So I'm very happy with this performance.
00:49The Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics will run through the end of November.
