00:00O.J. Simpson's estate is finally ready to pay up, three decades after the murders of

00:04Ron Goldman and O.J. Simpson's ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson.

00:09On June 12, 1994, they were brutally slain outside her Brentwood home.

00:13He was 25, she was 35.

00:16The televised O.J. trial in the 90s divided the nation, including one high-profile family.

00:21Robert Kardashian, Kris Jenner's first husband, and Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, and Rob's dad was

00:27one of O.J.'s lawyers.

00:29O.J. Simpson was famously acquitted of double homicide, but a few years later, Ron Goldman's

00:34father, Fred, won a wrongful death civil lawsuit against the football legend.

00:39The original judgment was for $33.5 million.

00:43It went largely unpaid during Simpson's lifetime.

00:46His estate refused to pay, but that all seems to be changing now.

00:50In the latest deal, Goldman sought a sum exceeding $117 million, plus interest.

00:56But after negotiations, the Simpson estate signed off on half that to the tune of $57,997,858.12.

01:07O.J. had denied involvement in the killings in his civil trial testimony, but ultimately

01:11a jury found him liable after three days of deliberation.

01:15They initially awarded the Goldman family $8.5 million in compensatory damages, and another

01:21$25 million in punitive damages, split equally between the Goldmans and the Browns.

01:26But that number has ballooned over three decades of unpaid bills.

01:31Malcolm Laverge, the executor of the estate, told TMZ they'll pay as much as possible,

01:36and they'll have to use ongoing auctions of O.J.'s possessions to do so, including recovering

01:41allegedly stolen memorabilia.

01:43In 1995, O.J. walked a free man, but then in 2007, he was arrested for confronting sports

01:49memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel room.

01:52In a stunning second fall from grace, he was convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping,

01:57and sentenced to 33 years behind bars.

02:00He served nine, before being granted parole in 2017.

02:04He passed away at the age of 76 from prostate cancer in April 2024.

02:09Till the end, he was never stripped of his pro football Hall of Fame status.

02:13His bust remains on display there in Canton, Ohio.
