'It Ends With Us' star Brandon Sklenar is breaking his silence following the recent controversy swirling online involving the film's cast and creatives. Internet rumors ignited when fans speculated a potential rift between director-star Justin Baldoni and star-producer Blake Lively and now the actor who played Atlas Corrigan in the film based on Colleen Hoover's 2016 novel, took to his Instagram to finally address it all and specifically defend the women behind the project.

00:16And now the actor who played Atlas Corrigan in the film, based on Colleen Hoover's 2016 novel,

00:21took to his Instagram on Tuesday to finally address it all and specifically defend the

00:26women behind the project. Sklenar wrote in a lengthy statement, Colleen and the women of this cast

00:31stand for hope, perseverance, and for women choosing a better life for themselves. Vilifying

00:36the women who put so much of their heart and soul into making this film because they believe so

00:40strongly in its message seems counterproductive and attracts from what this film is about.

00:45It is, in fact, the opposite of the point. Lively and Baldoni have been the subjects of negative

00:50headlines since the film's release on August 9th, after fans initially started speculating about a

00:55potential behind-the-scenes rift between the filmmakers. Sources later told The Hollywood

01:00Reporter that a fracture happened in the post-production process, wherein two different

01:04cuts of the movie emerged, one from Lively and another from Baldoni. However, it's unclear which

01:10cut is playing in theaters. Rumors also surfaced that Lively was made to feel uncomfortable by Baldoni

01:15on set, while others online have come to defend the actor's character and criticized Lively for failing

01:21to appropriately address the movie's central topic of domestic violence, and instead using a more

01:25light-hearted approach, and focusing the film marketing on fashion, encouraging viewers to

01:30quote, grab your friends and wear your florals, and promote her hair care line, Blake Brown Beauty.

01:47alleged drama. In his Instagram post, Sklenar went on to say that, quote, someone very close to me

01:52has been struggling with a relationship that has mirrored Lillies closely. I feel a responsibility

01:56to bring this to life and help spread that message further. The movie is a harsh reality check for the

02:01men who need to get their s**t together and take responsibility for themselves and their actions.

02:06Sklenar noted that the project is meant to inspire as well as validate, recognize, instill hope,

02:11build courage, and help people feel less alone. He concluded,
