00:00Snooze you lose. Sleeping on job calls Carter snaps on Sunday. And you know what? This really
00:05isn't that huge of a deal in my eyes. But when you're the third overall pick and you
00:11only have a half a sack on the year and the defense is giving up late leads, you're going
00:15to make the back page. It's all about effort around here. And there is a huge group of
00:20people that have been waiting for Abdul Carter to mess up and have a moment like this. So
00:25they can call him a bum or they can try and humble him. He asked to unretire LT's number
00:29and to a fan base in the media like New York City, that means you're asking for LT problems
00:35if you don't have LT type production in year one. Lawrence Taylor could have slept through
00:40whatever he wanted. He could have done absolutely whatever he wanted. He did because at the end
00:45of the day, his production was elite on that football field. Nah, not elite. His production
00:51was generational. High production gives you a pass around this city. And I get it. Stuff
00:57happened. Rookies miss meetings or walkthroughs from time to time. But that's supposed to
01:02stop during training camp. No one went to go find him. I got a story for you guys. Training
01:07camp, 2007-2008 season. Running back Danny Ware was my roommate and I left to go get treatment
01:13early. But I didn't wake him up. You know, the buddy system. He was then late to a meeting
01:18and Brandon Jacobs damn near cursed me out for not getting him up. Bottom line, it's two things.
01:24It's all about effort. If Brian Burns is still running to the football and he's waking up
01:29and he's on time for meetings, Abdul Carter has to be on time for meetings. Plus, the
01:34defense isn't playing well enough for guys to be sleep through anything. So, for more
01:39on Abdul Carter and the Giants, of course, head on over to NewYorkPost.com slash sports.
