00:00cooking. Would it be the world famous chef Jake Miller or the dark horse chef Leon Kennedy?
00:07We're about to find out and let the cooking begins.
00:22You look fancy looking young man. What's your name and what are you doing here today?
00:26My name is Adam Daniel. I play Leon Kennedy and I am in the fight for my life tonight for that
00:34the K spatula C. King of cooking. Let's light the stove. Light the stove. So what is at stake tonight?
00:43Love. Love. Love. For this whole thing is a love story. It's a love for his wife, a love for his dog,
00:51a love for food and cooking. So this is just now fighting for the love of self-preservation
00:58in being the K spatula C. King of cooking. Well thank you so much for your time. Well let's get
01:05back to it. You are a world-renowned chef right? That's right. Jake Miller. Owned three different
01:11restaurants Michelin style in Chicago, Illinois. Check them out. Five star each one. 15 stars total.
01:1615 stars. What are you doing here tonight and what are you fighting for? Tonight I am fighting for the
01:20king of cooking championship and I'm fighting against this uh this bozo Leon Kennedy. He's going down.
01:27I can guarantee it and it's just a matter of time. Right now you are looking at the new king of cooking.
01:33Wow that's very powerful speech from our contestant today Jake Miller.
01:37You know how the first time when your date come over to your house you kick everything into closet?
01:47This is what it looks like and look at that. That is the living room and this is your closet.
01:53Anyways let's keep going. Hello. Come here. What's your name? My real name? Christine.
02:01Are you getting married on this show? Maybe. This is the first show that a female lead is not getting
02:07married. And we love it. Oh okay. But now what's your character name and can you tell us a little
02:12bit about your character relationship with Leon? So my character's name is Ada and I serve as like a
02:20fairy godmother to Leon. Are you? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I guess. We'll find out. With like potentially
02:28romantic interest. We're not sure. I know that your wife was your whole world. I just think that
02:36maybe you shouldn't stay frozen in hers. She should be a memory. Not your prison.
02:45Potentially. Sequel. Sequel. Thank you so much for your time. We're going to bounce. Look at this. Do you
02:51want to know what is in this mysterious box? You find out in the show. It's going to be shocking.
02:56Hello chef. Are we making a soup today? Basically it's a fake shark fin soup. Where is that?
03:03So it's right here. Oh do you want to try it? Do I want to try it? Maybe.
03:10Oh wow really? Okay. It's actually still warm. Okay. We're pulling one off because we're going to be
03:14using it on set. But yeah. Would you like to try some soup? No it's just for the stars.
03:18Oh no. I'm just kidding. It's effectively a umami bomb because it's just mushrooms upon mushrooms.
03:27Wow. This is really good. Could you tell us how did you make the soup? It has four or five different
03:31kinds of mushrooms and you just kind of just boil it and reduce it down and kind of fortify it and it
03:38takes hours just to basically extract all of the umami out of the mushrooms. The work goes into making a good
03:45soup. Let's take a look at that monkey brain. We really want to know what that is and how are we
03:49making that. So just for context at the end of the show for the final competition the challenge is to
03:55make a eastern cuisine monkey brains and apparently this is how we're going to achieve it. Could you tell
04:00us are we actually using monkey brain? We're not. We're not. Okay. We have different forms of props.
04:05So you have these that are solid. Okay. That are effectively just plastic. Okay. And then you have
04:09these ones that are made out of silicone. Okay. Which are more malleable because you may need it.
04:14And that's actually made out of jello. That one's edible. Oh wow. Does it come in that shape or you
04:18sculpted it? Uh we got molds and we just kind of pour into a mold and it basically takes a shape. Wow.
04:23There you have it. That's how monkey brain is made. All right. So tell us about this cage. Okay. So
04:34inside this cage we are going to have a monkey. Trained actor. He has a way bigger IMDB than I do.
04:43Very famous. And this is the monkey that we are using in our dish. And the big thing is do I do it?
04:51Do I show how good I am to actually get this monkey? Do what? Do what? Do you have to un-a-life?
05:00Oh that sounds so harsh. But yes.
05:08I think everyone right away knew who the real star was. Allie the capuchin monkey. This adorable
05:16little girl. Yeah. You couldn't take your eyes off her. I think she's already in talks to make
05:21her the face of king of cooking and on the poster. And I'm all for it. Please do. And I'm here with
05:28Crystal. Crystal. How long have you been with Allie? About 10 years. 10 years. Wow. She's adorable. She looks
05:37barely over nine. Okay. So what are we feeding her? We're feeding her Welch's fruit snacks. It's her
05:42favorite treat. Do you think we can get a sponsor on that since we mentioned? I think we can. She's done some
05:49pre-established productions herself. What was she just on? The Righteous Gemstones. What?
05:57She likes catching air in her mouth. Oh does she? Yep. That's her thing.
06:03And I also want to point out no monkey, no fish, no any sort of creature was harmed in the making of King
06:12of cooking. What is the dish that you were making? This is going to be the French aspic. Now this is
06:26Leon Kennedy's famous dish, but it is the white wolf heart French aspic. This is what we were shooting
06:34today. This is where the VFX comes in, where I punch through the ice, it breaks apart, and then we add
06:41the dry ice. And the white wolf. Three wolves howling into the sky.
06:48I'm playing Wes, the chef du pati of this kitchen. Recently we got a new line cook who is ridiculously good
07:09looking annoyingly talented, but oddly quiet. Let's go give him a hard time.
07:18You, of course, Jamie Dawson. Hi, say hi to Real Talk.
07:23So we're on Real Talk right now, and this is a show that so many people watches. People would love to
07:28know about the great looking mountain in front of you. Can you tell us a little bit about it?
07:32The great looking mountain. Yeah, so this right here, we have Mount Fuji. I use these beautiful knives over
07:37here to carve out of a block of ice in a very dramatic little scene where it starts with a
07:42block of ice and I chop it massively, which turns it into sort of a pyramid shape. And then I just
07:48have at it. And then after about what, let's go with a minute, a minute of a minute of cutting,
07:55we get this beautiful mountain shape here, which I will then use as my extremely dramatic and over the
08:01top plate for my dish, which is octopus. Insert polished high-end high-lift footage of the final dish.
08:22What are you?
08:23Yes.
08:24And then the sandwich wall.
08:25Maybe it's hell, chef.
08:27All right, chefs. This is the fourth round of our first cook-off. The question is, if you wore a dish,
08:33what would you be? I think I'd be a pizza. What kind of toppings? Sausage. Okay. Pepperoni. Okay.
08:39Ham. Okay. Pepper. Onion. A little bit Italiano style. Great choice. What would you be?
08:47See, unlike Adam, I wouldn't be something as basic as a pizza. I would be a pancetta and courgette
08:54linguine with a chili and white wine sauce. Somebody pulled the photo up. I don't know. I have no idea
08:59what that is. Explain it to us. It's a pancetta, so a ham-like substance. So if you don't have pancetta,
09:03you can use bacon, courgette, or zucchini, if you will. And then you mix that in with onions,
09:08a bit of chili, let that just reduce. And then you add in some white wine and you add in your linguine.
09:11Just a very full flavored and spicy dish because, hey, I'm not spicy.
09:15I'm zesty. You zesty? Are you a home cook? How do you know that dish?
09:18I have done that dish. It's one of my favorite dishes to make and it sounds fancy. So I sound
09:23like I'm impressive and really it's just pasta with some bacon-y, wine-y vegetables.
09:35Now I thought I could start over.
09:40I have a quiet life. That king of cooking shadow just keeps following me.
09:48Yeah. If only I could have said that before it was too late.
09:56Maybe you'd still be here.
09:58I am Leon Kennedy. Now, this is sort of incognito Leon Kennedy. He is a world famous chef,
10:07kind of famously known for a mask that he wears, a gold mask. No one really knows who he is.
10:13It doesn't really give anything away. He loses the love of his life right away at the very beginning.
10:20And that kind of puts him into a deep, kind of dark depression. And the only thing he has left
10:27is his dog. He gives up everything else, which includes cooking. That leads him to a year later
10:33to this restaurant where he decides, well, maybe it's time I can get back into it, but let me just
10:40stay in the background. So he becomes a line cook and then just the forces that'd be bring him out.
10:46And he is forced to break some ice with his bare fist, show what he's known for. And everyone kind
10:54of realizes, wait a minute, are you actually the king of cooking? You are the missing king of cooking.
11:01Leon's the king of cooking? No, it's impossible. The Leon Kennedy? So the king of cooking has been
11:10working in our kitchen all this time? I never suspected it at all. But who else could make that
11:15dish? And fit check. Okay. So traditional outfit, I believe for a line cook, really any one of the
11:23chefs, what it depends on is the hat, the cap, the smaller the hat, I think the kind of the lower you are
11:31in the ranking. This is line cook. You will see, you know, very top long hats. Those are the head
11:38chefs. But everyone else is kind of pretty much wearing the same thing. The entire team over here
11:44is in all white. We have the competing team in all black with like hints of red. One thing you'll see
11:50for Leon, gold. He's always got something that's gold. That's the fit check.
12:01The real key is the actual culinary team that comes from the kitchen back here. They're the ones
12:10who give me a lot of attention and they're super sweet and show me how to prep and place and plate.
12:19It looks amazing. And what they do is just incredible. I cannot do that. That's why my hand double is
12:29phenomenal. This gentleman right here. This is Marvin. Marvin is my stand in. Marvin is the real
12:41chef here. Marvin, say hello. Hi, everyone. Marvin, how was it today doing all the cutting and chopping?
12:49It's pretty easy. Same thing like what I'm doing in the kitchen. So this is a natural thing for you.
12:54Yes, it is. How long have you been cooking? 22 years. Do you see how I just turn the tables and
13:00just make it all about him? This is how I like it. You can't be here, hobo trash.
13:07How about a roast? You know, for a second, I thought you were a chef. I was a fisherman. I know that
13:16your wife was your whole world. I just think that it's time to move on with your life. Your wife's in a car
13:22accident. I don't want to be king of cooking if it means losing you. What should the audience look
13:27forward to? Okay. So this is an underdog story about the most talented chef in the world up against
13:34the billionaires of the world who think they can just use money to destroy people's livelihood and
13:38exploit their like hard work. And because this is a show about cooking and we have a lot of fancy dishes
13:46and like splashy cooking sequences. So if you're a fan of food like myself, I'm sure you and you,
13:53fine dining or just some good old real short drama, be sure to watch and tune in.
14:00Thank you all for watching. Follow and subscribe for more. We'll see you next time.
14:19Bye.
