Commissioners are set to be scrapped as concerns grow about rising crime and safety across England and Wales. Do you feel safe on the streets where you live?

00:00I honestly feel quite safe within Durham but whenever I kind of go to

00:09Newcastle like I do feel quite unsafe you know there's a lot of like cat

00:15calling and things like that I think I would feel safer with more night

00:20patrols just like checking up on women making sure they're safe on a night out

00:25so yeah yeah there are definitely parts of Durham that feel less safe like North

00:31Road North Road or if you're walking like the Giles Cape Roundabout yeah some of

00:36those areas through Claypath at night I think more lighting yes better lighting I

00:42know that there are other areas where I definitely don't feel safe and I think

00:46you know especially knife crime that's a really big problem at the moment like the

00:51things that have happened that made me feel unsafe are mostly men shouting out of

00:55cars yeah but I don't really know what you could do to stop that
