00:27Advocate General, Dhammalapati Srinivas Garu, President of Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates Association, and Senior Advocate, Chethambrangaru, General Secretary of Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates Association, Subodh Garu,
00:52and other distinguished advocates, and also other invitees, friends.
01:00It is a great privilege to be at an event being hosted by the Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates Association,
01:14and graced by none other than the Chief Justice of India.
01:19We are in Amaravati.
01:22I am very happy to notice he came from Amaravati.
01:28Both are synonymous for historical legacies.
01:36All people in India believe Amaravati is the angel's capital.
01:46So, always, His Excellency, Honorable CJ, during his career has seen very simple, humble, down-to-earth,
02:00while discharging his duties, is always upright.
02:06Even we have delayed our meeting for two minutes.
02:10The reason is, he wanted to maintain equality.
02:15People will say equality is practicing equality.
02:20That is how we can understand his philosophy.
02:26I really appreciate him.
02:28I have seen so many judges, Honorable judges, and also CJs, in respective times.
02:38But I have seen new human being in Gawaiji.
02:43That is where I am admiring him.
02:46That is how he is conducting.
02:48If you see his track record.
02:54From the beginning, with an impeachable record,
03:04he left a great legacy as 52nd CJ of India.
03:09People will remember all his judgments.
03:13I am poor in judgments, because I am only a politician.
03:17I know what to do, people.
03:20Then, by taking advice from judiciary, how to do according to law.
03:25We all have witnessed his distinguished professional journey.
03:33As a lawyer, as a judge of the High Court and Supreme Court judge,
03:40and as the Chief Justice of the Highest Court,
03:43I look forward to an Enlightenment keynote address.
03:50Always I am saying I am a student.
03:52I want to hear people, learn from them, what all possible for execution I want to execute.
04:00At this time, all of us has to remember Ambedkar Ji.
04:10Ambedkar Ji has given excellent constitution for all of us.
04:16All-time-tested constitution.
04:24I am here as a Chief Minister.
04:28Our Gawaiji is here as CJ.
04:31Our CJ from High Court.
04:37We are all because of Him.
04:39That is the strength of our constitution.
04:47Even beauty of our constitution,
04:52Narendra Modi ji has claimed very proudly,
04:55I was a Chaiwala.
04:59Chaiwala has become Prime Minister of India,
05:01and also not only Prime Minister of India,
05:06great Prime Minister of India,
05:08ever we have seen,
05:10he will create a record.
05:11That is the beauty of this constitution,
05:14to uplift people.
05:16We have seen so far,
05:20originally 17 crore voters,
05:24now around 97 crore voters in 2004.
05:29So many elections,
05:31so many democracies we are seeing.
05:35One of the best democracies in the world,
05:38India, no doubt about it.
05:41And also,
05:42countries are progressing
05:44in communist countries,
05:47because there is no election.
05:50Countries are progressing in
05:52rulers, kingdoms,
05:56even Gulf countries.
05:58But,
05:59being a democratic country,
06:01we are progressing very well.
06:05For all these things,
06:07if you can go back again,
06:09with all my wisdom,
06:11I have seen so many things in this country.
06:13I was born,
06:15I was born 24,
06:2024,
06:2219,
06:221950.
06:24After adopting the constitution,
06:27after three months,
06:30all judiciary,
06:32all advocates,
06:33some advocates may be there,
06:35senior to me,
06:36but majority born,
06:37but majority born,
06:38after adoption of constitution.
06:42I was CM,
06:441978.
06:48Then 80,
06:50I became minister.
06:5295,
06:53I became chief minister.
06:55I have seen so many public policies in this country.
07:01Only one public policy,
07:03if you can see so many judgments also,
07:06all advocates have seen.
07:09Pre-economic reforms,
07:11post-economic reforms.
07:12Total scenario has been changed.
07:18Around 1995,
07:21I used to visit so many countries,
07:23for marketing our,
07:26economy,
07:28our investments.
07:30Everybody used to see,
07:32India,
07:34very poor light.
07:35As a matter of fact,
07:39they used to say,
07:40Hindu growth rate,
07:41equaling by saying,
07:422%.
07:43At that time,
07:46China used to grow,
07:47double digit growth.
07:52One is,
07:53after economic reforms,
07:55thinking process has been changed.
07:59People are viewing,
08:01in different way.
08:03Mid 90s,
08:04IT revolution.
08:08Indians,
08:09India has taken,
08:10first advantage,
08:12first more advantage,
08:13that has been changed totally.
08:16Now we are having,
08:18demographic dividend,
08:20as a windfall.
08:22Even recently,
08:24Taiwan,
08:25I had a delegation with them.
08:28Being a,
08:29high tech country,
08:32all innovations are going on.
08:3423 million population.
08:37They need people from India.
08:40Only in future,
08:42India can supply,
08:45human resources,
08:46for the global community.
08:48They may,
08:49be very strong in technology,
08:51and also hardware,
08:53hardware and software,
08:53but nobody can replace,
08:56human beings.
08:58That is the biggest challenge,
08:59the world is facing,
09:02but India is going to have,
09:03that advantage.
09:05I wanted to place,
09:07before all of you,
09:08who have seen,
09:09Narendra Modi's,
09:10regime today.
09:122011,
09:16or 2014,
09:1911th largest economy.
09:22Today,
09:22we are,
09:23fourth largest economy.
09:26By one year,
09:27we are going to become,
09:28third largest economy.
09:30By 2038,
09:32we are going to become,
09:33second largest economy.
09:362047,
09:37100 years of independence.
09:39Now,
09:40we are celebrating,
09:4175 years of,
09:43constitutional,
09:44adoption.
09:46I am confident,
09:47India will be,
09:49number one country,
09:50in the world.
09:52That is the,
09:52power of India,
09:56and Indians.
09:58And also here,
09:59if you can,
10:00all of us can see,
10:02Indians,
10:03as on today,
10:04all over the world,
10:06highest per capita income earners.
10:10By 2047,
10:13Indians will be,
10:14globally,
10:16most influential community,
10:18it is going to happen.
10:20In this context,
10:23four pillars of democracy.
10:25I want to share,
10:27this type of intellectual forum.
10:31Always,
10:32if you see legislature,
10:34executive,
10:37judiciary,
10:39media,
10:41always,
10:41legislatures,
10:43once in five years,
10:44you have to face elections.
10:47People,
10:48give mandate,
10:49then only will come to,
10:51assembly.
10:52Executive is a permanent body.
10:55They are having tenure.
10:57Judiciary,
10:59compared to other,
11:01fields,
11:02more stability,
11:03and also,
11:04whenever there is something going wrong,
11:07you are correcting,
11:09and putting democracy,
11:10in right spirit.
11:12That is how things are happening.
11:15Now,
11:16media has come.
11:18I have seen media.
11:20Once,
11:21only,
11:21all India radio.
11:22That is only the,
11:24news breaking agency.
11:26afterwards,
11:28I have seen newspapers.
11:31Only one paper.
11:33At one time,
11:35Hindu paper used to come.
11:37That is only the paper,
11:38trusted paper.
11:41After that,
11:42electronic media has come.
11:44Now,
11:44social media has come.
11:48Social media,
11:49every person is a editor.
11:52Every person is a writer.
11:54They can write anything.
11:57They can express their views.
11:59They can do character assassination also.
12:03No exemption for anybody.
12:05For me,
12:06for judiciary,
12:07for everybody.
12:09That is how we are facing today.
12:10This is the right forum.
12:14I wanted to,
12:16interact,
12:17all of you.
12:18We wanted to maintain,
12:21vibrant democracy.
12:24And at the same time,
12:26nation first.
12:28We are all here.
12:30Nation is great.
12:32We will be proud of it.
12:34If nation is not great,
12:36all of us will be looked down.
12:39This is where I am,
12:40asking,
12:42all of you to,
12:43contribute further.
12:46If you see one thing,
12:48Ambedkar has given,
12:50one person,
12:51one vote.
12:54Even some constituents,
12:55didn't give,
12:56equality for everybody.
13:00Even women,
13:02some great countries,
13:04didn't give,
13:06equal rights.
13:07Only the country,
13:09poor,
13:10rich,
13:10rich,
13:10no gender,
13:14biased,
13:15or,
13:16even,
13:17billionaire,
13:19even poorest of the poor,
13:21are having one vote.
13:23That is the biggest,
13:24advantage for Indian democracy.
13:26policy.
13:27And here,
13:28he gave political equality,
13:31or equity.
13:33Now,
13:34it is our responsibility,
13:36to bring social equality,
13:38and economic equality,
13:41that type of society,
13:43that type of nation,
13:44we have to build.
13:46For that,
13:47always,
13:47I consider,
13:48public policies,
13:50a deadly combination.
13:53Around 1995,
13:55I created one public policy,
13:58promoting information technology.
14:01Within 25 years,
14:03Hyderabad,
14:05because of knowledge economy,
14:07highest per capita income,
14:09and also,
14:11today,
14:12all,
14:13Telugu community,
14:14and Indians,
14:15all over the world,
14:17highest per capita income earners.
14:20That is only one public policy.
14:23Now,
14:23we have to see further,
14:24rich and poor,
14:27are dividing.
14:29Sharp division.
14:32Consciously,
14:33all of us,
14:34has to create,
14:36how to bridge the gap,
14:38between rich and poor.
14:40Everybody will have,
14:41better living standards.
14:44I have seen so many things.
14:46Now,
14:46I am dedicating myself.
14:47I am working with all your blessings.
14:50Wealthy,
14:51healthy,
14:52happy society,
14:53that will be long sustainable.
14:57Compared to any other country in the world,
15:00Indian family system and values are the best in the world.
15:04That is giving so much of strength for all of us.
15:07We have to prove,
15:08that is where our Honorable Prime Minister is saying always,
15:12Vasudhaiva Kutumbham.
15:16Total globe is one family.
15:20We are seeing,
15:21global good,
15:22and also everybody's welfare,
15:25everybody's happiness.
15:29And at the same time,
15:31we should not interfere,
15:32any sovereign powers.
15:34Anybody will interfere,
15:36in our sovereign powers.
15:38That is what he taught,
15:40Sindhuur.
15:41It will repeat,
15:42anybody will violate.
15:43I am very happy in this intellectual forum to share some of my thoughts.
