00:16:21Comment est-ce que James va survivre ça pour vraiment ?
00:16:26Heads up !
00:16:30Here's your brain !
00:16:32Il probably gave him brain damage, back damage.
00:16:36You know what I'll do is the camp.
00:16:38I'll put fire on the camp.
00:16:40I'll just go like...
00:16:42I could put like a pillow in front.
00:16:44But then you'll still get like knocked down.
00:16:46Nothing will hurt this bad boy.
00:16:48Yeah.
00:16:51Got my rope, got my paint in.
00:16:55Ready for my trap. Brave boy.
00:16:58Not as brave as me.
00:17:00I'm taking 12,000 degrees to my forehead.
00:17:02OK. Short straw there, guys. Bad luck.
00:17:05Well, blowtorch versus paint can.
00:17:07I'd actually prefer to face the blowtorch
00:17:09because you can be burnt and very quickly put it out.
00:17:12But straight on, paint can to the face.
00:17:15We're talking brain damage.
00:17:17I'm glad you're doing this one.
00:17:19Now I'm worried about why this is here.
00:17:21This is a ballistic gel head that's made from an agar agar jelly.
00:17:25So it's vegan, but it's a very dense jelly
00:17:28used to simulate the human body in crash test scenarios.
00:17:31I don't think the vegan thing comforts me at the minute.
00:17:33I mean, you know, I was all for it, but like...
00:17:36Have a feel. It's quite heavy.
00:17:39It is heavy, actually. That's more solid than it looked.
00:17:42And this face doesn't even have, like, a jawbone or teeth
00:17:45or a nose to be broken.
00:17:46I quite like my nose.
00:17:48You know how, like, J-Lo had a bum insured?
00:17:50I did that with my nose. Did you really?
00:17:52Yeah.
00:17:53Let's take him over to the test rig and run some experiments.
00:17:55Just to confirm, that ballistics head is still a very definite representation
00:18:03of James's actual face.
00:18:05I think it's a bit smaller.
00:18:07Great. Now I've got to go on a face diet.
00:18:09Don't let me stand in the way of you doing this one, Guz.
00:18:12I can see in your eyes it's getting a bit appealing
00:18:14watching the whole set-up for this.
00:18:16Look into my eyes. Do my eyes look like I want to do this?
00:18:18It's going to reach 17 miles per hour at the bottom.
00:18:2017 miles an hour from there?
00:18:22Yep. All right, I'm ready.
00:18:24Three, two, one.
00:18:52That's going to break your face.
00:18:54Yeah, that vegan head is not getting up ever again in its life.
00:18:57That was like a three-ton van slamming into you.
00:19:01You might die.
00:19:03In my expert opinion, for this trap, let's lower the rope so you take it on your body.
00:19:08How good are your stomach muscles?
00:19:10Not great, but I don't want to go any lower than that.
00:19:13That's supposed to accurately represent my brother James Acaster.
00:19:22I asked for the measurements and this is what came through.
00:19:24So what I want to get an idea of now is how far might you travel?
00:19:28I would like to hazard a guess.
00:19:29Yep.
00:19:30Far.
00:19:31Far.
00:19:32And...
00:19:33Up, please.
00:19:34Well done.
00:19:35You like that?
00:19:36Yeah, you kept that a secret, magic powers.
00:19:37Yep.
00:19:38Right, this time James, do you want to do the honours?
00:19:39Three, two, one.
00:19:40Go.
00:19:41Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:19:45Mm.
00:19:46Well done.
00:19:47You like that?
00:19:48Yeah, you kept that a secret, magic powers?
00:19:49Yeah.
00:19:50Right, this time James, do you want to do the honours?
00:19:52Three, two, one, go.
00:19:54What?
00:19:55james do you want to do the honors three two one go oh what
00:20:15if that pain can't hit you that hard your heart is gonna towel that is better than the face and
00:20:21and look you don't travel huge distances it's the force i'm worried about if you want to see force
00:20:30i can show you force we can increase the weight in the can then you'll see just how reasonable this
00:20:35can is 25 liter can hurtling towards the torso 17 miles per hour the resultant impact this time is
00:20:47going to be like a a 30 ton juggernaut i've added some explosives to the front think christmas
00:20:52crackers everyone loves a little bang at christmas okay here we go
00:21:07yes that's why i wanted to do this show i wanted to see bodies exploding and hit with massive cans
00:21:13i'll do it with that you'll do that right strap me up right now i don't care hit me with that and
00:21:18lift me up with the explosives
00:21:23whoa
00:21:26i still gotta do this haven't i a version of yep we can make it safe i promise
00:21:33serious decelerating impact protection sounds safe great if it is as high-tech as that what no
00:21:40that's there you go that's a that's a pillow and a baking tray and i don't even know what that is
00:21:47cricket pad i'm not graham gooch composite composite core protection decelerate through the padding of
00:21:56the pillow absorb initial impact through the deformation of the steel tray no no no bake cookies
00:22:04go to sleep play a game that lasts for days for no reason that is all that these things are designed
00:22:10for how the hell has brooker got away with any of this he's on holiday and i'm covering my torso with a
00:22:18baking tin still to come how do we do this safely there are loads of different things that we do
00:22:24i don't know can you come to the door please are you having a giraffe i'm trying to get arrested for this
00:22:44you know guys when you think about it home alone is actually all about a greedy little boy and his
00:22:48desperate need for pizza brother i don't think that's what it's about it clearly states in the
00:22:54title of the movie it's about a little kid who's home alone think about it right first film someone
00:23:00eats his cheese pizza he gets furious punches his brother second film gets given a cheese pizza in a
00:23:06limousine he's delighted and who can forget the hilarious prank that he plays on the pizza delivery
00:23:11driver it's all about pizza baby a casting it's all about the pizza
00:23:20of all the shenanigans kevin mccallister gets up to in home alone the pizza delivery prank is one of
00:23:24the most inventive and most loved oh i like this better pizza thing oh yeah by fast forwarding through
00:23:31clips of an old gangster movie kevin tricks a pizza delivery boy into thinking he stumbled across a
00:23:35shootout genius leave it on that doorstep and get the hell out of here okay um well what about the
00:23:45money what money well you have to pay for your pizza sir do you think that'll work in real life
00:23:54it depends if it's on uber eats no because you just pay it on the phone call one two ten
00:24:06run away bud run away this has got us thinking would this prank actually work in real life
00:24:13probably not but let's test this baby out first off we rented this big house we've rigged it with a
00:24:19bunch of hidden cameras and we've recreated our very old gangster film starring this extremely
00:24:26threatening hunk of a man do you want to sound like a mug what you want treacle
00:24:31so we've turned the clips into a high-tech soundboard and run it through a banging speaker system and
00:24:41there's one last important task to do wedges you try the wedges put the fried garlic mushrooms on the
00:24:47pizza as well and this is a deal breaker extra anchovies thank you why aren't sure i don't like
00:24:54anchovies i said it but these are extra anchovies i got you covered operation pizza prank is in motion
00:25:07what do you want uh it's a delivery from pizza blade
00:25:24i don't know if i make any sense i guess i could choose that one all right whatever you've got dump it and scarp it
00:25:37dump it and scarp it uh it's a delivery from pizza village your pizza
00:25:46what's the thing like that worth anyway sweetheart
00:25:52backed away
00:25:53i don't know about you guys but this is the worst i've felt in a while
00:26:04yeah i feel too feel pretty bad about that waiting for ages even though all we've done has been rude
00:26:11for the whole thing
00:26:12i don't like you can mess with this brother i just want to say hey cast it what you're pressing
00:26:19go on press it go on yeah what you want trickle got delivery he's confused he's just confused
00:26:30are you having a giraffe let me try and press it it'll make more sense okay i'll give it to you
00:26:36i don't gotta press the dog the dog no don't stop pressing the dog hello can you come to the door
00:26:46please run peter boy he's calling the police that's the police i'm trying to get arrested for this
00:26:53no i just brought delivery to 118 he's on the phone god just excuse this give give all the money
00:27:00thank you
00:27:08do you want to take your pizza you have a good day brother do what all right
00:27:14now he's taking the pizza away we're not gonna eat the pizza do you know what i like this guy
00:27:19he took the 50 quid and the pizza and said to us do what he's do you know what he said to us
00:27:23do one what you want treacle delivery do you have any giraffe just got the pizza delivery for you
00:27:37turn around tough guy turn around is it turn around tough guy okay
00:27:44okay three two one go get over you filthy animal run pizza boy
00:28:04hey casti yeah this is terrible well here's a treat for your troubles
00:28:11okay you're a waste of space you had one job and now you pulled it
00:28:20do you want me to leave the pizza outside yeah
00:28:29cheers thank you you're changing this are you having a giraffe
00:28:33i think we can conclude that this wouldn't work in real life in the film they've got actors who are
00:28:38saying the corresponding lines to what he's got queued up on the video it's all very funny but in real
00:28:44life doesn't make any sense it's a disaster it doesn't work they're amazing at their jobs and we
00:28:51maybe aren't so we proved the pizza prank is a load of old baloney but what about kevin's electrocution
00:28:59booby trap
00:29:03you can't watch
00:29:11i think you'd have to go to the doctor's
00:29:15turn into a skeleton yo
00:29:17would you really see a skeleton if you turn out that electric i don't think so you'd be like
00:29:31oh ha oh kevin's quite harsh yeah but like he doesn't want his house to get robbed when like
00:29:38his parents aren't there he's being quite like he's being a good boy
00:29:46them kids they look like they enjoy this haha watching at home on tv we enjoyed it you enjoyed
00:29:52it marv getting all when we were kids yeah the truth is it's not no funny games it's not no jokes
00:29:58it feels very very danger to me zoe can you confirm that it's danger deadly huh deadly well
00:30:04actually actually seriously what marv experienced was enough electricity to kill someone happy
00:30:10christmas happy christmas though that's nice i think if all bad news is ended with the words
00:30:16happy christmas then you feel better so what i want is for you to experience electricity at a
00:30:21level that's still safe but that will help engender some respect for it who's defining what's safe and
00:30:27what's not here you said marv could have died from grabbing on them concrete and like that yeah okay
00:30:31well this is a tens machine trans cutaneal electrical nerve stimulant it's designed to
00:30:37be used at home with no medical professionals present because what i'd like you to do is just
00:30:41have a nice little tea party with me piece of cake cup of tea but if you do it wearing these
00:30:47i will run some current through you let me put it on you
00:30:50say when when oh i got a little bit of fizzing going on in my arm guys there you go how was that
00:31:01fizzy yeah it's fizzy about pins and needles maybe take a little sip of tea what's that now what's that
00:31:06now my why are you making my arm twerk why is my arm twerking that is huh didn't look like a cardi b video
00:31:13okay okay why is his arm not twerking it's not doing what mine was doing all right we're going
00:31:17back to james ah whoa whoa whoa right that's ampage there that's probably enough so this is still
00:31:29milliamps right if you hit 30 milliamps that's when you start to get ah stop what's called the freezing
00:31:35current whatever you've done look at that cake look at the state of ampage i now want to show you
00:31:42something where we keep that ampage low but we're gonna bring the voltage up i tell you what i'm so
00:31:48confident i'll go first what it is is a sort of wand and it's called the violet wand where you put in
00:31:57these attachments and then this will become charged up and this becomes an electrode and then earth
00:32:03itself you said earths itself yeah or see earth in itself through your body or my body yeah i'm good
00:32:10yeah okay i think this little one will be nice nice for what i'm now charged congratulations can
00:32:19i discharge onto you well at least you asked um
00:32:29so this is tiny milliamps but we're dealing with 30 000 volts that's described as the erotic range
00:32:35so you've experienced what electricity can do at really safe low levels next i'm going to show you
00:32:49electricity as it is out of the mains so this is now unsafe levels i think you need to see the reality
00:32:56of what actually marv had to deal with okay let's do it this setup is designed to show you what
00:33:02happens when you run mains electricity through something that conducts we conduct gherkins also
00:33:10conduct we both contain salt and water what kind of dangers could be present here flying vinegar
00:33:17droplets in the eye we're going to get marked by the gherk okay deep breaths you ready
00:33:20okay three three two one oh whoa
00:33:32like a christmas tree yeah yeah that was smoking literally smoking
00:33:42how am i supposed to stay safe from this i recommend at least beginning with rubber gloves
00:33:49so this is an insulating material so electricity won't conduct through rubber lovely they suit you
00:33:55actually do they really i'll have a word in kevin's ear make sure that he's balancing that voltage and
00:34:01ampage right so that it is both electrified but maybe not deadly maybe we're adding that rubber just as
00:34:08the background safeguarding confidence giver to go for the grab you are guaranteeing to me if i wear these
00:34:15rubber gloves and i wear all rubber suit yeah i can catch that little kevin and not die in the process
00:34:21there are no guarantees with electricity but you're good to go when you've got those gloves on
00:34:31it's crazy to think that the stunts in home alone were all done for real none of that cgi business
00:34:36so i'm getting a scoop from one of the heroes involved it's joe pesci stuntman and innovator of the now
00:34:41infamous home alone fool troy brown troy thank you for joining me today um first things first home
00:34:49alone has become well known for its brutality in the stunts what did you think when you first saw
00:34:57some of what they had planned for you i mean to make you know comedy funny you have to do physical
00:35:02stuff so you know we tried to do it it was all for real you know you try to hit the ground as hard
00:35:07as you can it's always funny seeing someone get hurt and in terms of the stunts in in the first
00:35:12film if you could kind of talk me through the first one was the the blow torch so the head how did that
00:35:18work out they had a special cap that they'd blow the heat on and that was more of a visual effect
00:35:23but on the second home alone i when we did the blow torch they lit my head on fire and i did a real
00:35:29fire where i did a handstand on the toilet yeah and put it out yeah that was real fire
00:35:34the stunts in the film are so iconic but the one that stands out above all the rest is the home
00:35:42alone fall um please can you talk us through what the home alone fall is and how it's done
00:35:48basically it's just landing flat on your back without twisting or putting an arm out
00:35:53but you basically just plant one foot and push off as hard as you can and get your feet above your head
00:35:58so you come flat and make sure you have your chin tucked so you don't hit your head
00:36:02and then after home alone it really got my career going as far as i got called for every stair fall
00:36:09getting hit by cars and stuff like physical stuff yeah the stunts and and and the falls they're a big
00:36:16part of why i think it's had that longevity talking the falls i'll tell you a lot of his stunts was uh
00:36:22dan stern because he's super athletic but yeah he did a lot of this stuff like you know getting hit with
00:36:27the iron of course the hilarious in the second one is where he's getting electrocuted you know that
00:36:33night was i mean that was funny just watching it yeah would you want to do any of these stunts again
00:36:39now because i'm not you know i'm old and fat now so it wouldn't look as good but yeah
00:36:45and this is the big question would you be able to show me i may regret asking this yeah we'll do
00:36:51something okay then we'll hit you with the shovel or something how's that sorry you just you would
00:36:55just hit me with a shovel or something yeah no no maybe we'll just scrap that question guys don't
00:36:59worry about that bit that's fine so troy i'm ready we've got the crash mat so like how do we do this
00:37:05safely like do i do i kind of plant my feet is that is there different stuff or is it just
00:37:09oh are you all right dude uh yeah yeah
00:37:23it's been lovely to meet you joy um thanks thanks for for for that pal um i must say i'm glad that's
00:37:31the only stunt i've got to do here good luck back in the studio fellas
00:37:36guys guys what are you doing in there oh you're gonna love it it's a surprise for you
00:37:45guys you know i don't like surprises come on just come out no no no we need to remember
00:37:49so we're saying rubber is for safety and i got this rubber ready for you what what are you talking
00:37:55guys this is stupid i'm coming in okay i want to know what's going on in there still to come
00:38:02this is me dressed up as you're an idiot it's absolutely mad serious injury
00:38:13what are you doing i'm using that turkey from earlier to make us some lovely christmas sandwiches
00:38:31girls are you hungry it looks a bit dry it's not my thing really i know this is going to be a gourmet
00:38:35sandwich mate you want me to toast it for you do you have the ability to do that toast you a lovely
00:38:39thanksgiving sandwich right here wow yeah funny funny funny brilliant whoa that knife's hot
00:38:52bon appetit
00:39:00it don't smell good yeah to be honest as i was doing it i thought this is not my best sandwich i've ever made
00:39:09oh this red hot doorknob scene makes me wince like a pit bull sucking on nettles
00:39:14thank god james is taking this one like this is one of my favorite parts ever and he doesn't even look
00:39:26that really hurt yeah because it was like super hot when you touch yeah
00:39:31i think that would be the most painfullest thing in my life
00:39:41well at least you have a tattoo now what would you do i'll probably do it with like
00:39:48only with the teeth cause like teeth teeth
00:39:50the challenge here is how to make that door handle glow red hot kevin used a barbecue fire
00:40:01lighter like that one there on the shelf this one yeah yeah grab that genius works every time
00:40:05well let's give it a try so hang it on the doorknob okay this is basically a kettle element flick the switch
00:40:11how quick is it hot well let's have a look i've got my temperature gun i'd like to see the deleted
00:40:19scene in home alone where he's got a temperature gun and he's just checking is that hot enough
00:40:24yet i don't know if that's gonna burn him well i think that's the point is that the element is
00:40:29glowing red hot and the door handle nothing and it's because it's cooling into the air you
00:40:34you haven't got that speed of conduction any other ideas
00:40:46oh that's it three hundred and nine it's gone all over the shop it's absolutely mad
00:40:58i can see the face of jesus through the flame is that normal
00:41:00can you see the door's actually catching fire it's on fire you're gonna do anything about that
00:41:06just leave it wood you know burns at a lower temperature than the metal so what's the door's
00:41:11temperature 170 handle temperature 75 yeah is that it so 100 degrees cooler
00:41:19we failed to get it hot enough with the flamethrower we did i suggest we try induction to heat it up
00:41:25this what is a magnetic induction coil i don't know what it is but it sounds exciting it's a piece
00:41:33of copper coiled round in itself yeah and an electric current pulses through it and it produces a magnetic
00:41:39field it's going to excite like the atoms and make them really really hot so you make science sound very
00:41:46sexy how long is it going to take to make the knob go red i mean it might take a while kevin
00:41:51needs to plan this in advance i think what we're discovering quite quickly about kevin is he's a
00:41:55full little liar or that montage where you're setting the house up actually took like a long weekend
00:42:01yeah it's hot enough to really damage you you know cook an egg on that no problem has anyone got an
00:42:08egg look normally i would i forgot it today can see it starting to glow red yeah yeah we're at 326.
00:42:14what's the g stand for guzz's knob consider this to be your hand this is the level of damage
00:42:25this doorknob can do here we go oh listen to that yeah if that's my hand yeah look at that
00:42:35so if that was somebody's hand that's irreparable damage i mean we're talking serious serious injury
00:42:47what if i like made a glove out of ice ice beats fire it would definitely give you maybe enough time
00:42:54would you have enough grip behind you there are some of my welding gloves that are safer best they're not
00:43:00designed for like direct grabbing but they may give some level of protection if you want to give it a try
00:43:06they're not designed for direct grabbing not for prolonged you would like me to directly grab it yes
00:43:15be careful man no i'm saying i'm your friend be careful
00:43:21do you feel like you could get some purchase on it and turn brilliant that's all you can do
00:43:25there's smoke coming off of that though and i felt it warm i might have to double double glove
00:43:29double or i'll put the meat on the welder's glove i'd call that a composite material very advanced see i
00:43:35knew that's what i was going to say composition material composite composite say that one more
00:43:39like you guys two or more materials together and they become greater than the sum of their parts
00:43:44yeah we're greater than the sum of our parts right i don't even know what i mean sounds good
00:43:49is brooker doing any of this we're getting frazzed what's brooker doing left us home alone
00:44:01being able to laugh at the violence of home alone rather than cry
00:44:05it's all down to the genius comedy acting of daniel stern and joe pesci
00:44:11harry and marv have gone down as one of the greatest double acts in cinema history
00:44:15you and joe had so much chemistry on the film where did that come from we were classic characters in
00:44:23a certain way he's the short tough jimmy cagney you know and and i was the goof it's uh laurel and hardy
00:44:31it's you know the contrasting characters the friendship was fun the movie was fun the silliness
00:44:39we both approached it in our own way you know that was comfortable with each of us and the chemistry
00:44:45kind of clicked i i heard somewhere that on set joe genuinely wanted macaulay culkin to be
00:44:52intimidated by him so would kind of act intimidating joe wanted everybody to be intimidated by him that
00:44:59wasn't just at mac that was at everybody but joe yeah i think joe did have a bit of that like
00:45:05he wanted mac to be scared of him again i think he wanted everybody and he still is scary and you've
00:45:10done so much in your career so many films so many tv shows but is home alone the thing that kind of
00:45:16people talk to you oh yeah yeah people are crazy about it i mean i have people come up to me with
00:45:23tattoos of myself on them like people have me tattooed on different parts of their body and they say hey
00:45:30marv and wet bandits you know wet the wet bandit or marv but the wet bandit really hung on as uh it
00:45:39resonated with people i guess is that kind of the weirdest kind of fan obsession thing that you you've
00:45:45seen yeah i mean that can't get any weirder like you don't know me and and you took the effort to
00:45:52permanently tattoo my face onto your body that blows my mind again like i've learned to embrace
00:46:00it as opposed to thinking it's too weird people if people want to go off on their own journeys on home
00:46:06alone and just be obsessed by it i think that's beautiful now i don't think it's weird i've done
00:46:11it myself i've dressed up as i've dressed up really i just want to show you this quickly
00:46:16so i i dressed up um and the scene where you get electrocuted oh oh so one of my favorites this is
00:46:24this is me dressed up as
00:46:31so you're an idiot
00:46:35what a riot daniel thank you so much this has been just this has been one of the great days of my life
00:46:42and i include getting married and having my kids as well get out of town he has it's been that's
00:46:48very sweet it's been an absolute privilege to spend time with you and talk about the film that i love
00:46:53so much um but just before we go i've got what one thing that i'd like to ask you what um would you
00:47:01be okay to sign sign my iron sign it yes like if you want me to smash it into my face that's extra
00:47:09yeah i'd be honored to uh sign your there you go sir thank you so much marv
00:47:20well there you go still to come we're gonna have a real nice swing
00:47:27oh i'm actually stood outside the mccallister house now let's glove up meaty
00:47:39why james's baby it's our final stunt is it the one where we eat loads of pizza eat those of ice
00:47:51cream and then wake up in a nice big soft bed in a hotel on christmas morning and unwrap loads of
00:47:55presents no it's the zip wire there oh well that's all right then he comes out the house lands safely in
00:48:02this tree house that'll be fun not quite oh yeah now the robbers make it halfway right and then the wire
00:48:09gets cut and they smash to the side of the house hard really hard that's the one yeah that doesn't feel
00:48:16very christmassy to me hey guys check this out oh go back oh go back okay they're gonna stress
00:48:32about it and they're gonna fall don't look down kevin said like all these pranks and this is like the
00:48:47big end one yeah it's like the banger the banger the banger how would you feel if that was you i don't
00:48:53know because i'll be dead final trap who's scared of heights guts and me only a little bit and usually
00:49:04i would say psst not a problem but based on everything you've done showing us i think we're
00:49:10gonna die if we do this possible but if it's a zip line this is like this is fine i've seen this in
00:49:15the film and they zip down i'm looking forward to doing this when it looks fun yeah yeah it's like
00:49:20way rough and tumble it's fine in the film they swing back against the house don't they because
00:49:25kevin cuts the rope yeah so back they swing a la paint can in fact yeah and then the impact is
00:49:31against the wall this rig up will show what should have happened to the burglars in the film and what
00:49:37will happen to you if you happen to swing back to the wall without any protection and hey cassie just
00:49:42to confirm you think based on how zoe's just teed this up that you would still like to if out of all
00:49:49the options were there swing into the wall and you'll be okay well i don't know seeing is believing
00:49:54when we see the the whole experiment fair enough but i reckon we're gonna have a real nice swing and
00:50:00it'll be like a victory lap you and me just swinging down boom boom boom maybe do it with no clothes on
00:50:05like the dummy i think this is going to be a laugh i think zoe's saved the best till last as a little
00:50:10tree okay let's give it a go three two one oh that wasn't so bad doing fine that mannequin but
00:50:25the reality is we're gonna have broken limbs cracked ribs punctured lungs damaged internal organs
00:50:32maybe a little loss of teeth little loss of teeth just one or two on top of all that damage a little
00:50:37bit of loss of teeth are gone as well cracked skull cracked skull there you go so what are you thinking
00:50:42for protection uh cover ourselves in springs and then we can bounce to safety if we fall trampolines
00:50:48on the floor bounce even higher yeah uh lay those out before kevin gets into the the treehouse uh maybe
00:50:55bouncy castle house like turn the whole house into a bouncy castle the whole thing that is the budget's
00:51:00getting a bit high now i think most of it we've spent on guzz so i don't really think we can push to
00:51:06springs and a bouncy castle what else we do bubble wrap
00:51:15as requested we've got our mannequin wrapped in copious amounts of bubble wrap with a little added
00:51:21extra inside i've put a number of these this is a balloon filled with jelly and this is there to
00:51:28represent the internal organs can i feel it you can don't squeeze too hard
00:51:34but yeah feel it that feels nice can we wait underneath the mannequin with our mouths open
00:51:40there may be other bits of shrapnel like a foot falling so i wouldn't well it'll all stay in there
00:51:45anyway won't it because the bubble wrap will do its job if the bubble wrap does its job the limbs should
00:51:49be intact and the balloons inside should be intact bubble balloon organ mannequin a go three two one
00:52:01oh it's head came off i think we need to take a closer look
00:52:15all right let's take a look right i've got to reach around the front zoe oh one-handed doctor
00:52:34bring that back do you want to pull that down a bit james strip it off oh oh this mannequin's had
00:52:39better days sure look oh there's some sticky icky there oozeage oh oh my word
00:52:49it's not ideal so some of the balloons were hung from these strings so that they could swing inside
00:52:55and i actually expected some damage but this is over 50 of the balloons have burst doctor this is
00:53:02decimation yeah unsurvivable injuries here so this trap is unsurvivable that's what you're saying is
00:53:09that we can't trick this i'm saying science can't help what the only option you have is to catch kevin
00:53:16before he cuts the rope fine and then we've got to get down that zip wire what's the fastest way of
00:53:21doing that together like together piggyback or face to face koala bear as long as we're together
00:53:29i'll koala i'll be on you yeah you're on me but we're gonna catch that kid good luck what i thought
00:53:37we're gonna do another cool plant sorry doctor
00:53:48the next stop on my journey is chicago where the film was actually shot i don't think i've ever been
00:53:53this excited in my entire life because first up it's a big one the mcallister house to me this
00:53:59house epitomizes christmas and a 30-year dream of visiting it is about to come true this is amazing
00:54:06the mcallister's house has always seemed a magical place to me i always wondered what kevin's parents
00:54:11did to be able to afford it now i've been told i can't bring the crew onto the street to film here so
00:54:16i've had to ditch the cameras and go mobile oh my god i'm coming up to it now i can't believe this
00:54:27oh man i'm actually stood outside the mcallister house i can't believe it i can't believe i'm here
00:54:33i've honestly i've loved this house i want to visit this house ever since i was like six this is
00:54:38unbelievable um i might as well give you some facts didn't i only the living room and hallway were used in
00:54:44the film the rest of the rooms were actually a studio set the amazing tree house was built
00:54:49specially for the film they knocked it down again straight after filming it's become an unbelievably
00:54:54popular tourist spot with dozens of super fans like me turning up every single day to get their
00:54:59photo taken outside it was bought in 2012 for 1.6 million dollars an absolute bargain considering it
00:55:05was listed at 2.4 million i can't believe i'm here i wanted to do the kevin thing but i've got to use
00:55:11i've got a hand to the face but i've got a hold of my feet still to come it's time for the boys to face
00:55:22that fight think twice before you take this on let's get that kid
00:55:36this is it guys we're in the end game now we've learned a lot we know how to survive all these traps
00:56:00more or less now it's the case of burgling kevin's house for real because they're like your confidence
00:56:06but there's danger in there anything could happen to us what about if my kids see this on television
00:56:13and they see their father and their uncle a caspy dead in the ground we don't have to worry just like
00:56:18home alone it's a family film this is a family tv show everything we're doing is perfectly safe and
00:56:26perfectly imitable hey guys are you the two idiots that think they can catch me you know it has to
00:56:34every time i feel that fear inside me yeah and i wonder why am i doing this i remember it's because
00:56:39of that little kid there i want to break him down i hate him so much i hate his stupid house the stupid
00:56:43snowman and all the stupid traps we're gonna beat him i'm gonna beat him this is it gus oh i guess it
00:56:50is let me say one more thing to you before we do this same i really wish i was alex brooker right now
00:57:01the grace episcopal church in chicago was used for one of my favorite scenes
00:57:05it's the poignant and emotional moment when kevin realizes old man marley isn't actually a
00:57:10psychopathic murderer and it's my final stop before i leave what's been a magical trip
00:57:15we've all got that one thing we do each year that makes it feel like christmas something that reminds
00:57:21us of what it felt like to have christmas as a kid and for me it's watching home alone i've been
00:57:27obsessed with this film ever since i first saw it when i was six years old and i love it even more now
00:57:32that i'm 38. um i just i'm obsessed with it and to come here meet some of the cast and see where it was
00:57:39filmed has not only been a career highlight i think it's been a life highlight honestly this is the best
00:57:45christmas present i could have had eight o'clock it's time for the boys to face their fate
00:57:56have you got any words of advice for james and guz back in the studio guys i'm a trained professional
00:58:01do not do this i've heard too much about you guys i wouldn't do it but if you do do it make sure you
00:58:05have plenty of insurance listen to me i wish i wish i'd gotten a chance to meet you before you meet your
00:58:11demise if marv had really done any of this stuff he'd be dead please think twice before you take this
00:58:18on i just want to say good luck to both of you and look worse comes to worse and it goes wrong
00:58:24welcome to the club the parking's great side of toilets
