01:03likes to impose his strength as the rounds progress.

01:15The wingspan, when he hits the left hand, it's a mile long.
01:18I mean, and with the speed as well, and also the way he steps in with it to get some power on that field.

04:35And in the first in Brooklyn, they found this guy, Kurt Scooby.

04:43A long way from his Californian home, although he trains in Springfield, Massachusetts.
04:49He lives above the gym in an old fire station.
04:52Great stories in boxing.
04:54Brings out the best narratives, it really does, but he's got to start creeping forward.
04:58He's got to try and bully Azeem.
05:01I mean, easier said than done when you've got someone who's as sharp as we've already pointed out.
05:06Of Azeem.

05:09Of Azeem's raw invest into the body.
05:12The high guard of Scooby's going to be hard to penetrate early anyway, so drop down.
05:20And it was good to see at the end of that round, and he asked for it in the break there again,
05:25did Shane McGuigan, but in the end that round, Azeem just had to get some feints in the play.
05:28And again, just the timing, you know it's really fast, you can maybe even time that yourself.
05:34With those little feints and little, just little movements of the shoulders, that just throws you off.
05:38For Scooby, that means it's very hard for him to even contemplate about countering off any of the work here at Azeem.
05:44And I like that feint as well, when they dip the knees.
05:47Because that usually does get a reaction from your opponent.
05:50They sort of follow it with their own hands, and that exposes their chin upstairs.
05:54So, he's got to not take the bait, Scooby.
05:58Azeem still focusing on the jab, followed by a combination there.
06:03Decent defence from Scooby and all the bluster of fight week.
06:07He's crowded in a shell at the moment, just seeing this through if he can.
06:14And coming on strong, as Darren said, he's seen him a lot.
06:18Maybe he'll want to try and be the man, the physical presence in there.
06:24Utilise his age.
06:25He had 150 amateur fights or so, he claimed, Scooby.
06:29Discipline's the key here for Azeem.
06:31Because he's having everything his own way here, so you think, oh, I can start from a low,
06:34they'll get a bit closer, or do a little bit more.
06:37And Scooby wants you closer, so you just keep doing this, force him to make the mistake.
06:42Don't try and, don't get too adventurous just yet.
06:44It's early in the fight here, just keep doing this all the time.
06:46You'll land him a good shot.
06:49Just squeaked through, and Scooby felt that, and he's got a hold, and he looks at his corner.
06:54Azeem can really punch.
06:56And you talk about timing, beaming speed, that timing from Azeem was spot on.
07:03And that's the problem sometimes, with that shell like the fence, when you really hide the gloves,
07:06you almost, you hide your vision.
07:09So you don't see the gloves at the place that come on the back of your glove,
07:11and that's what happened there, on the temple with that right hand there from Azeem.
07:15And it's good, he hasn't got greedy, he hasn't gone greedy, rather, sorry, Azeem.
07:19He's taking his time, he's patiently walking forward, he's very frustrated, you can see already, Scooby.

09:24We don't know yet too much about the chin of Adam Azeem.
09:28We know about everything else, but as he goes up in levels,
09:31and he breached towards a world title chance, it's going to be Tess.

09:39I think he's trying to be a little bit more forceful, he doesn't need to.
09:42You see the jabs that he's thrown, 83 jabs, he's down there with 11.
09:47I can't believe there's only 11 that landed, but I mean, I mean,
09:50to be fair, Scooby has blocked most of them with the gloves,
09:52but it's still, it can frustrate your opponents.
09:54And also, you just, you maintain, you're in charge of everything,
09:57and the pace, the distance, the control of the fight.

10:39try and find a way to be the first man to beat Azeem.

17:55And so far, his defense has been very tight.
17:58But as he has to come forward and try a little bit more, he'll start to kind of release the hands from his head.
18:04And that allows Adam Azeem to land him fast.
18:06I mean, his hand speed is incredible.
18:09And if you're in Scooby's corner, do you just go for broke? What do you do?
18:12Not go for broke, you still have to be measured enough in your approach.
18:17I think you need to be a little bit more aggressive.
18:19You need to push, put Adam Azeem onto the back foot.
18:21Get close to him and rough him up a little bit as well.
18:24We haven't seen enough of that.
18:25And I think that's right.
18:26What Carl said there, you know, you can use that defense when he takes the shot.

18:31But you've got to advance him, you've got to bring the jab down with that.
18:33So when you take it, just as easy to land to the glove, you would take a step forward.
18:37You'd dip your legs, whatever, take a step forward and let him throw again.
18:40And then just keep that same type defense.
18:42Because he's massively muscle ball.
18:44And then close that distance so you can land with the shot.
18:47I love the way that Azeem whips in that left hook to the body.
18:53It's just more of the same for me here, for Adam Azeem.

22:37And he's looked a better fighter I think since then, I have to be honest.

22:47But with that Lingard performance, he was just, he was bullied.
22:50Lingard has come ploughing forward and just didn't take his foot off the gas,
22:54didn't let Scooby breathe at all.
22:57Oh, that's a nice lifter.
23:00Yeah, picked that one really well and big foot movement as well from Azeem.
23:05I think the only thing is he just won't want to get frustrated with this
23:10as we approach the halfway mark, tries the uppercut, body shot, good from Azeem.
23:14But it was obvious when he was talking to Shane in the corner,
23:17he wanted to maybe step it up to dazzle a bit more, get the finish.
23:21I'll tell you what though with Azeem, he's got a bad habit of leaning back with his chin up.
23:26I mean that's something that might get it, you see it there, he gets away with it,
23:29because he has got a wide stance and he is tall and long.
23:31But I mean it's a risky little thing that, it's a habit that you want to get hold on.
23:34You want to lean back, you've got to take that back foot with you a little bit,
23:37and almost stay a little bit low when you take that step back.
23:40What does Shane think of that, do you think?
23:42Well look, it's the, again what Svary said, the torso can move backwards, the chin's got to stay low though.
23:50Use your feet as well, just to slide out of range.
23:54He is boxing very well here and the jab is just fantastic, really is controlled.

47:59But he kept it for every round. And to get the finish in the end, he's a really tough guy.

48:07but they'll know he's there. They'll know he's there, they know he's dangerous in every round.
48:11He has speed that you can counteract and he has power for 12 rounds.
48:17And there he is, Adam Azim. I think he wants to go and see his excellency. He does.

48:59You could see what it meant to him at the end. And look at this finish. It was just punch perfect, Barry.
49:05And the variety as well. You know, I was always going to say, forget about the body,
49:08because you wasted your time on the body shots, because he could take them so well.
49:12It was the head shots doing the damage. And to make Scooby take a knee. I mean,
49:16I never thought I'd see that. He's such a tough man, but that's a statement there.
49:20And him and Dalton Smith is the fight we want to see.
