Morris Martin is a widower convinced that his wife, Claudine, believed to be dead, is actually alive. Martin confronts his friends, whom he believes are keeping his wife from him, and one-by-one kills them. An ambitious crime reporter, Tom Stewart, investigates the woman's disappearance and soon discovers the trail of infidelity, corruption and murder.
