00:00When I was 16, I was just about to leave for hockey practice with my dad and he said,

00:06oh, I'll just check on mum one more time because she was feeling a bit ill.

00:08And he went upstairs and she was having a seizure.

00:11She was diagnosed with a brain inflammation called encephalitis.

00:17Encephalitis is something that I had no idea what it was.

00:20And most people who do know what it is, it's because it's affected them in a sort of horrible way.

00:28She's the most selfless person I think I've ever met.

00:32When she came out of hospital, the first thing she did was apologise for what she'd put us through.

00:40Unfortunately, recently, she got diagnosed with cancer.

00:44Nobody deserves what she's gone through, but least of all her.

00:49It feels like it's taken up so much of her life now.

00:53So to give her this is special.
