DOMINION (trailer)

Set in 1920s Indochina, DOMINION tells the contrast between the daily life of peasants under French colonial rule and the opulence of the local bourgeoisie. Through silent, tension-filled images, the trailer of the short film weaves together opposing destinies until revealing, in a surprising finale, that history is not only memory, but representation, illusion, and the cyclical imprisonment of the gaze.

Ambientato nell’Indocina degli anni ’20, DOMINION racconta il contrasto tra la quotidianità dei contadini sotto il dominio coloniale francese e l’opulenza della borghesia locale. Attraverso immagini silenziose e cariche di tensione, il trailer del cortometraggio anticipa un intreccio di destini opposti fino a rivelare, in un finale sorprendente, che la storia non è soltanto memoria, ma rappresentazione, illusione e ciclica prigionia dello sguardo.
