00:00Selangor Menteri Besar Amiruddin Shahri has been asked to address questions about the unexplained wealth allegedly amassed by an aide,

00:09who is also said to hold an unusual number of state-linked positions.

00:14The request was made in a new WhatsApp chat group named MB Selangor,

00:19specially set up for the purpose and run by an administrator identified only as Madani.

00:25In addition to Amiruddin, whose mobile number has been verified,

00:29the chat group includes several Selangor Assemblymen from both the government and opposition,

00:35certain political party leaders, and at least two journalists, including one from FMT.

00:41In the chat, Madani addressed his messages directly to Amiruddin, urging the Menteri Besar to answer honestly and fairly.

00:50Madani also alleged that the aide had become a millionaire since Amiruddin assumed office,

00:56owns a RM3 million bungalow and taken his family on luxury overseas holidays.

01:02When contacted, the aide, whose identity is being withheld, said it was not appropriate to comment,

01:09and FMT has also reached out to the Menteri Besar for a response.
