A woman is drawing attention online after reporting that she managed to find her newly stolen car by searching around her own neighborhood.
Kaytlin Jarrell posted a video on TikTok to tell what happened. She began by explaining that her Kia Optima had disappeared from the curb and that her neighborhood had been facing similar incidents, with several neighbors reporting comparable thefts.
“Literally, they just arrested three people who were breaking into cars around here. And today my car disappeared,” Kaytlin said in the clip. So she decided to take her father’s Mazda and go after her missing Kia. Nearby auto dealerships.
She said she had only been driving her father’s car for a few minutes when she suddenly came across her stolen Kia, parked just a few minutes from home. Apparently, the thieves didn’t bother going very far.
“I found my car and they’re stupid,” she said in the recording. Kaytlin then called the police and waited, saying she would do everything she could to make sure the thieves were held accountable.

00:03Or are you freaking kidding me? I found my car. I found my car.
00:08Come with me to go find my car because it's not in my driveway.
00:14Do not recommend this. Not very safe, but I don't really care.
00:19I've had a really shitty month and I just, I want my car.
00:24Thankfully, my dad had a spare that I can borrow.
00:26Um, so we're gonna go drive around.
00:32And unfortunately, my neighborhood is a hot spot for this kind of thing.
00:36Literally just had three individuals arrested in this neighborhood who lived in this neighborhood
00:41that was going around and breaking into people's cars.
00:45So that's fun.
00:46And then today, my car is missing out of my driveway. It's so fun.
00:52There's literally no way. It's in my neighborhood.
00:54Oh, are you freaking kidding me?
00:57I found my car. I found my car. I found my car.
01:01I found my car. And they're stupid. They're still in the same neighborhood as me.
01:07Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh.
01:11Oh, my car. I found my car. I found my car. I found my car.
01:14I found my car. I found my car. I found my car. I found it. I found it. I found my car.
01:22And now I'm waiting on the police to show up and we're gonna go from there, see what the next steps are
01:28because I am totally taking this to the fullest extent that I can possible to whoever did that.
01:35Because number one, how the hell did you even drive it? You didn't have my keys.
01:38And number two, how did you get into it? Because my car automatically locks itself even if I forget to do that.
01:44So.
01:46Are you worried about making a report on that?
01:48I'm sorry.
01:49I said, are you worried about wanting that on a report saying that that was taken?
01:52Yeah, just because I want to, if we catch whoever did it, I want to prosecute them to the fullest extent.
01:57Probably not likely, but I'm just really dumb.
02:01I'm just dumbfounded because we live not even, not even a mile.
02:05We're right down the street.
02:07So the issues that Kia has been having where you can take the, uh, the USBs and start the vehicle off.
02:13You're supposed to take them, take the, those vehicles for the recall to them.
02:18And then they do something to it and then they put the sticker on.
02:22They might've done that when we got our, we got a new engine installed and they could have gone through and done.
02:27I just don't remember seeing it.
02:29Yeah.
02:30Hey, cause there's even one over there.
02:31Yeah.
02:32Okay.
02:32Yeah.
02:32And they definitely, it's Kia.
02:33I just don't recall the stickers.
02:35As we see, that doesn't work.
02:37No.
02:37Yeah.
