00:00Vladimir Putin, if he has no intention of doing a deal, then how do you see this ending?
00:05At the moment. So I don't think, under current conditions, that Putin...
00:11Well, I'm basing this on access, as I had a few weeks ago, to our understanding of the intelligence on it,
00:17and that is that he's not ready to do a deal.
00:19So for me, the answer to that is he needs to be put under more pressure, so he is prepared to do a deal.
00:25The president of Ukraine is clearly ready to do a deal.
00:27He's remarkably, in the pursuit of peace, prepared to give away up to 20% of his country de facto, and yet Putin is not.
00:38So what's going to change that? More pressure on the battlefield.
00:42Ukrainians have an undercapitalized defense industry.
00:45They have spare capacity that cash would solve.
00:50There is more that we can give them.
00:52There is more that we can give them in terms of permission to use long-range weaponry, for example.
00:57There's all of that, as well as giving them the sort of, you know, the basics of air defense and all that.
01:03And there's an opportunity to put a lot more pressure on Putin at home.
01:08And I don't pretend that that is going to give immediate results.
01:11One of the things I would say in this space is we have to be patient.
01:13We have to be prepared to see this off.
