Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch says that the BBC coverage of the Middle East, U.S. politics, and of “basic issues” like sex and gender, shows it employs a lot of people “who are not journalists but are activists", adding that it needs "a root-and-branch review".

00:11I'm glad that the head of news has resigned,
00:13but as we have seen with their coverage on the Middle East,
00:16it's not just the coverage with the US,
00:18you look at the coverage even on basic issues
00:20like biological fact on sex and gender,
00:22the BBC has been a mess.
00:24They have a lot of people there who are not journalists
00:26but are activists.
00:27They need to be put under control immediately.
