00:45so he asked a friend of his to come up and make a speech
00:48about the racist treatment of Hollywood towards Native people.

00:53It scared the heck out of Hollywood, for a while at least.
00:55There was a lot of unrest in America.
01:01When Little Big Man came out, that was a really big deal.
01:07Indians themselves, learning how to better,
01:11besides just being cast because you could ride a horse nicely
01:13and you got long hair.
01:15We come far, you and me.
01:18It's only natural that Native people tell our own stories.
01:25It's time for us to tell our own stories.
01:27And I'm happy to see it happening in Hollywood
01:31and to be a part of it.
01:32And I wanted to tell the truth,
01:36to change the stories that were being told.
01:38But there's so much more to the story.
01:44And I wanted to tell the story.
