00:00This is an exciting announcement for us because at the election campaign we
00:12promised to double the number of public preschools in New South Wales and I'm
00:17pleased to announce we're well on the way to achieving that goal. With the
00:21beginning of construction for 20 new public preschools including right here
00:25at Bommardary we are making sure that there's options particularly in
00:30regional communities for access to good quality early childhood education for
00:36families. This is the crucial part of equity and fairness for families in
00:41regional communities. It's incredibly important in lifting female
00:45participation because we know where there are early childhood education
00:50deserts there's less opportunities for boat clients to bear the workforce. When
00:56you live in one of the most expensive housing markets in the world that is
00:59absolutely crucial and hugely necessary and this 770 million dollar public
01:06preschool program is going to make a major difference in the communities
01:10where this program is being run out and I'm pleased to announce that
01:14uh I think 10 of the new public preschools will be in the Illawarra
01:18Shoalhaven area and crucially 49 of the 100
01:24new public preschools will be in regional communities.
