05:03how to do the same my dad and i built that barn that kept us safe last night
05:08and i have watched hours and hours of home rental shows
05:14i'm gonna rebuild this house myself

08:29it's how the shoemicks make out the road to their barn washed out completely but they got their
08:40animals out early so they did that's some good news i guess hey going back to what i said earlier
08:50about helping you rebuild your house be no trouble it's okay i can figure it out thank you it's not
08:58like i think that you need a man's help or anything like that it's just you know what i do for a living
09:03right yes you make furniture i'm a carpenter pretty good carpenter actually and so helping you with your
09:09house would be no problem that's a really nice offer but no thank you the phone's free so i'm going to

10:16and i also want to rebuild my family home myself listen give me a couple hours i'm going to talk
10:24to my assistant he's going to find you the best crew in the tri-state area they'll be there this
10:28afternoon to start construction a crew no no um no no it's way too early for any of that you're going to
10:34supervise of course dane richards you have zero listening skills my grandparents built that family
10:41home and i'm going to do the same lauren lauren i'm just trying to help your school teacher you
10:46can't build a house by yourself i know it takes a team to rebuild a home but that team starts with me
10:56hey how are you here excuse me sorry i was rude and that is why we need to get people out there now
11:06starting the cleanup efforts this is crazy the council has made a list of places to start nathan
11:16i know you're doing your best with mayor wallace gone and all but we need to organize search parties
11:23to go out there and find people who need help
11:28i just spoke with the people from fema less than an hour ago they need the roads clear so that they can
11:34deliver the relief supplies food water medicine right search and rescue is the main priority right
11:40now you said yourself the fema was not going to be here for several days this is not about you
11:46golem please sit down nathan given the circumstances i feel like we just set aside our differences
11:52now here we look out for each other that's what we do you guys are there could be people out there
11:58without clean water without power they could be injured they could be sick
12:03we've got to have search parties to get out there and find those people
12:07our fire department is out there right now doing exactly just that great well we can help them
12:14how many firefighters are there we have five well-trained professionals five
12:20nathan that's a lot of ground to cover and we should split those five up
12:25and each one of those firefighters can be in charge of a small search party of volunteers
12:29we could search the entire town in a day a day and a half at max
12:33so we'd have five search parties five fine council will radio out to the professionals
12:40and if the firefighters agree council will allow
12:53page
12:53oh i'm so happy to see you i've been looking everywhere for you oh we tried to get you
13:04i'm so glad you two made it through the storm okay oh we're fine we're fine hey how are you and mark
13:10oh we just lost the porch and shed how about your place not as bad as some you know my heart goes out
13:19to carolina santos oh mine too hey
13:25was that colin i saw you waving at just now oh yeah yeah he's helping out with one of the search
13:30and rescue teams yeah i heard he was helping but why are you waving at each other you hate him no i
13:38don't hate him oh really i have heard you say the actual words i hate colin trump i'm just worried
13:45about him you know page i'm worried about everybody it's dangerous out there there are live power lines
13:52down there are complete road closures like so when exactly did the hate stop well last night we spent
14:02the night together in the barn and the barn tell me everything no nothing happens no we've we just got
14:11to know each other a little better that's all okay let's help with the power and you are telling me
14:18every detail come on
14:36nothing useless technology
14:40help help help me anybody help me
14:56mr rodrigan are you in there yes i'm here and i knocked off my wheelchair
15:03my leg is stuck stay calm yeah we have the rescue team here we're here in the supreme we'll get you
15:11out
15:18i've been stuck here for hours
15:22all right we're here now okay we'll have you out shortly
15:33so did you hear what the chicken's a little dry but the mac and cheese is to die for
15:43nope thank you so much thank you your boyfriend's a hero
15:48oh yeah dane's in australia what could he have done no you're a new boyfriend
15:55i'm an engaged woman so you officially accepted dane's proposal then
16:00not exactly see i love dane i have no interest in colin except his friends and besides he made it
16:12very clear in the past that he was never interested either
16:17wait hero he saved mr rodriguez hugo fell out of his wheelchair and spent the entire storm on the floor of
16:26his bedroom he was lucky that colin found him wait is he gonna be okay yeah joel he's a firefighter
16:35said colin cleared the debris and carried hugo out to the team joel said if they hadn't split up like
16:44colin suggested they wouldn't have got to hugo for a few more days and who knows what would have happened by then
16:56we have got ourselves a real live hero
17:02well if you're not interested maybe i should ask him out i think you should stop talking and eat some chicken
17:08okay i hear it's drunk
17:22so
17:28so
17:38How bad was it out there?
17:54More tough than bad.
17:57Why do I feel like you chose the areas that were hardest hit to search?
18:02I guess I should have thought that one through a little bit more.
18:08You must be exhausted, compared to what we did.
18:11Answering phones, ordering a few supplies.
18:15Oh, come on. I saw well-fed children in clean clothes that looked very happy.
18:20I know that was all you're doing.
18:24So, tell me about this fiancée.
18:27Dane?
18:27Dane is an architect. He's actually in Australia right now.
18:34And he's working on a big project, and then he'll be back here.
18:42Is he a good man?
18:45Yes. Yes, he's very good to me.
18:51But?
18:51Well, when you're with the person you're supposed to marry, you have this gut feeling, right?
19:01Right.
19:04Unless he isn't.
19:08Oh, no, no, no. It's okay.
19:10Don't be silly.
19:11You're freezing.
19:13Just take it.
19:16You're welcome.
19:18You should run for mayor.
19:20Because I gave you my jacket?
19:22No.
19:23Although I would vote for that guy.
19:25The way you corralled the search and rescue team.
19:30And how you helped Mr. Rodriguez, it's...
19:33Listen, Joel saved Mr. Rodriguez.
19:35Okay, I just moved some things out of the way.
19:39That's all.
19:40I'm not so sure that Nathan is the person for that.
19:45You should think about it.
19:46Yeah.
19:48I think I'll, uh, leave running this town to better men.
19:52Who said that?
19:54You send whoever said that my way, and I'll give them a good talking to.
19:57Oh, really?
19:58Mm-hmm.
19:58What would you say?
20:00In under 72 hours, a man who thought I hated him...
20:05You did hate me.
20:07Shh.
20:08I'm talking.
20:09Okay.
20:10This man saved my dog, helped scores of people, and offered to rebuild my family house.
20:18Which you refused.
20:20Which I appreciated.
20:22It's the intent that matters.
20:25Okay.
20:26And he offered me this lovely jacket, because he thought I was cold.
20:33You know what?
20:34If you're not cold, I'd be more than happy to take this jacket back.
20:36Okay, I would just...
20:37Just fine.
20:41Hey, Dane.
20:42My beautiful Lauren.
20:43How's everything flood-wise this morning?
20:45It was a beautiful day down under.
20:47Yeah, we're doing okay.
20:49Things are still a little bit of a disaster, but we're all pulling through.
20:52That's my girl.
20:54So, when are you getting here?
20:56Coming in?
20:56Sorry?
20:58Yeah, yeah.
20:58When is your project wrapping up so you can come help?
21:00Help?
21:01Pack it of help.
21:01Just give me the number.
21:02I'll wire you the cash.
21:04Cash?
21:05No, no, no, no.
21:06Dane, this is not about cash, okay?
21:08I don't need money.
21:10Dane, I need you here.
21:11Here.
21:11Dane, sir, come on.
21:26Stand on the phone, will you?
21:33You want to help Tony with the number?
21:35All right.
21:35Excuse me.
21:37Hello.
21:38Hi.
21:38What's going on here?
21:40Looks like we're rebuilding somebody's home.
21:42Yes, this is my house.
21:44Ah, you must be Lauren Richards.
21:48It's Lauren Christensen.
21:52Did a man named Dane put you up to this?
21:55Mr. Richards hired us, yes.
21:57Okay.
21:58I need everybody off of my property right now.
22:01Excuse me, Max?
22:07You have Dane.
22:08Dane, what is going on on my property right now?
22:10Lauren, guess what?
22:11I got my assistant to get a great crew.
22:13They're going to be there any minute now.
22:14Oh, yeah, they're all working here right now.
22:17Great.
22:17They said they'd be fast.
22:19No, Dane, I told you.
22:20I wanted to rebuild my family home myself.
22:23But I just wanted to support.
22:24Dane, you are a great guy.
22:29You really are.
22:31You have treated me like gold.
22:32But there is one thing that has become crystal clear to me,
22:35and that is that you have never treated me like an equal.
22:39You know, all my thoughts, all my feelings
22:41have been completely second to yours.
22:43What?
22:43Lauren, I...
22:45Like, you never listened.
22:46That time that I told you I didn't want to go to London.
22:49Or that I didn't need that new car.
22:51Or that I will never give up being a teacher.
22:54Dane, I can't do this anymore.
23:03I can't marry you.
23:10Lauren?
23:12Lauren?
23:13Lauren?
23:13Lauren?
23:24Lauren?
23:25Lauren?
23:26Lauren?
23:26Lauren?
23:27Lauren?
23:27Lauren?
23:33Lauren?
23:35In my moment of weakness, I need something to free this.
23:44Heaviness on my heart that I can't shake
23:50I still carry it with me
23:59Feeling like I'm unworthy
24:03And the thing I need most is the hardest to take
24:10Where the shadows grow tall
24:18And your back's up against the wall
24:23In this moment it's clear
24:27In the darkest of times
24:32Love begins here
24:35You know, you really should get that dog a leash
24:39Yeah, well, add it to the list
24:42Holy cow, Lauren, how did you build this this fast?
24:48Dane made a few calls
24:49That's a good call
24:52You think?
24:55Yeah, absolutely
24:56I've heard you go on about a dozen times
24:59About building this yourself
25:00So it's clearly important to you
25:03Wow
25:06I agree, thank you
25:08Hey, listen, also, I need to apologize
25:11About last night
25:13You know, we, um, we almost
25:15We almost, but we didn't
25:18Right
25:18Right?
25:19That's the important thing
25:20Yeah, because, you know, emotions were high
25:21I don't know
25:23I guess that just
25:24Plus, who would've thought
25:26A sanctuary
25:27At night
25:29Would be that
25:30Nice
25:32Shall we say
25:33And the stained glass windows were
25:36Really nice as well
25:39It won't happen again
25:40I bet
25:43Good call
25:44Good call
25:44So
25:46What's next for you in this house, Miss Lauren?
25:52This house?
25:52Well, um, actually, I was hoping to recruit a nice, strong person to help me lift some heavy furniture
25:58I guess
26:00I guess that's me
26:01All right, just a few feet back there
26:04Pivot to your right
26:05Right
26:06And we'll just go right to that wall
26:08Okay, right here?
26:11Yep
26:11Amazing
26:15Okay, I just need your help with this trunk over here
26:19One or two things, huh?
26:37You okay?
26:40Yeah
26:40Oh, who doesn't want a chance to remodel?
26:43Right?
26:45I did want to do it myself, though
26:47Listen, I understand
26:48But
26:49Dane's people
26:50They did an amazing job
26:52Okay?
26:53Because they left the entire foundation
26:55They put up the perimeter wall
26:57So you can completely design the layout
26:59I mean, you can move the kitchen
27:01From over here
27:02To right here
27:03Get better sunlight during the day
27:05Right here
27:06You could add a little, uh
27:08Breakfast nook
27:09And, uh, this
27:10If you extend the mudroom out a little bit
27:13You have an extra bedroom
27:14Bedroom or an office
27:16Or an office?
27:16Anything you want
27:17Colin, these are good ideas
27:19I think they're all for tomorrow's work, though
27:21Sounds good
27:23I think I'm going to hit the hay
27:24Literally
27:25Literally
27:25What do you mean?
27:27I think I'm going to spend the night in the barn again tonight
27:29By yourself?
27:35Well, with dance, sir
27:36Yeah, no
27:36I wasn't implying that I would stay with you
27:39I just, um
27:40Why not go back to the relief center?
27:43You know why?
27:43Because a really nice guy helped me fix up my bedroom in there
27:47And I'd like to embrace that
27:49Well, I'm going back there tonight myself
27:52So if you need a ride
27:53I'd be more than happy
27:54Why?
27:54I thought your house was fine
27:55Yeah, no, it's fine
27:56I'm just going to go back
27:57In case anybody needs any help from them
27:58And think about
27:59Here
28:00You have
28:01No running water
28:02You don't have a working washroom
28:04I think the relief center will be a better idea
28:07So come back
28:08Get there with the townspeople
28:10And myself
28:12You flipped me
28:15That's good
28:16Come on, doctor
28:17Come on
28:18Here in the morning
28:22We're not the same
28:26Well, I got the feeling
28:29That we're gonna change
28:32And have them to keep that inside
28:36Deep in our hearts
28:39With only one lifetime
28:42Of what you're gonna cling to
28:46In this world
28:48In this life
28:50You need someone to hold you
28:53To stay young
28:55And stay free
28:56In this world
29:01In this life
29:03You need someone to love you
29:06This is what
29:08A good thing feels like
29:11In this world
29:14In this life
29:16You need someone to love you
29:19This is what
29:21A good thing feels like
29:24What if it feels like
29:27You're around
29:28Got you a little lunch
29:30Thank you
29:32You're welcome
29:33So, I have a question for you
29:37Okay
29:38Mr. Colin Ladiesman
29:41How come you haven't found a lady for yourself yet?
29:46Honestly?
29:47Honestly
29:47My dad
29:51I remember your dad
29:54He left a few years back, no?
29:58Yeah
29:58After he cheated on my mother more than once
30:02I was the youngest of five boys
30:04And my mom was
30:06She didn't have the time
30:09Or the energy
30:10To supervise me
30:11And younger Colin
30:13Might have taken advantage of that
30:14But my mom
30:16After taking care of five boys
30:18After cooking dinners
30:20And cleaning the house
30:21And going through letters
30:22From my teachers
30:22She would actually sit down
30:24And tutor me
30:25Every night
30:26And
30:27It worked
30:29I got better grades
30:30Moms
30:33You gotta love them
30:34Dad's
30:35Not so much
30:36Apparently mine was
30:39Spending time
30:42All over town
30:43My mom
30:45She never
30:46Talked about it
30:47One night
30:48We were
30:49At my brother's wedding
30:51We're sitting there
30:53Just the two of us
30:54And she finally told me
30:56Everything that he had done
30:57How badly he had
31:00Hurt her
31:01And
31:02That was the night
31:05That was the night
31:06That I promised her
31:07I would never be like him
31:10I would never be my father
31:11And I might have been
31:14The resident ladies man
31:16As you put it
31:17But I never cheated
31:18Never
31:19But you can't spend
31:24Your whole life
31:24Pushing people away
31:25Though Colin
31:26That's worked so far
31:29But
31:30Hey listen
31:31I want to make a suggestion
31:32Okay
31:32We've made a lot of progress
31:33On this house
31:34Great progress
31:36Yes we have
31:37But
31:38We have some
31:39Pretty big jobs
31:40Coming up
31:41Like roofing
31:43Electrical
31:44Flumbing
31:45So
31:47With your
31:48Permission
31:48I have some friends
31:51Who could probably
31:52Help you with that
31:52And get you in your home
31:53A little quicker
31:54Okay
31:56I could be open to that
31:57Huh
31:58Lauren
32:04I don't know if you remember
32:06Any of my old friends
32:07But they just got done

32:35Steady as a beat
32:37And my love
32:38Won't
32:39Ever wanna
32:41Wiver from
32:42Your drift
32:43Would
32:44Float enough
32:45Onto the shore
32:47Oh
32:48Either
32:50Or
32:51Out
32:51Of

33:23Fiancé
33:24Oh
33:25Okay
33:26Why
33:29I'm just
33:30You know
33:31I thought
33:32I was getting
33:33A vibe
33:36No
33:38No vibe
33:39Okay
33:41No vibe
33:42Why did you
33:46Did you pick up
33:48On a vibe
33:48Or something
33:49What is this

33:51Should I pass
33:52A note for you
33:53During math class
33:54Well

34:20No
34:23As a little kid
34:25You liked him
34:26As a big kid

34:52Thank you
34:53Wow
34:58I cannot believe
35:00How much progress
35:01We've made on this house
35:02Well
35:03The Amish can build
35:04A barn in a day
35:05So
35:06By that standard
35:07We're kind of
35:08Far behind schedule
35:08No but
35:11Seriously
35:12Your friends
35:13Are really awesome
35:13That zero
35:15Can really lift
35:17Heavy things
35:17Yeah
35:18They're alright
35:19I guess
35:19They're alright
35:20And you're alright
35:22Just
35:23Take credit
35:23For what an awesome
35:24Friend you've been
35:25Friend

35:32You are helping me
35:33To rebuild my house
35:34Well I think
35:37I'm going to spend
35:37The night here tonight
35:38There's no interior
35:40Of the house
35:41How are you going to do that
35:41No no
35:42Not in the house
35:42In the barn
35:43Plus the house has
35:44Running water
35:45Gas
35:46Everything I need
35:46By yourself
35:48In the barn
35:49No
35:50With Dancer
35:50Hey pup
35:51Alright well
35:53I'll be staying
35:54The night at my place
35:55So you know
35:56If you ever needed
35:58A place to
35:58Crash
36:00Are you trying to
36:01Spend the night with me
36:01No
36:03I'm just letting you know
36:06If you didn't feel like
36:07Staying at the barn
36:08By yourself
36:09You have a place
36:09So
36:10Well that's sweet of you
36:11But I'm a big girl
36:12I got this
36:13Just offering as a friend
36:16Right
36:16Because that's what we are
36:17Exactly
36:18Friends
36:19Okay well I'm going to
36:25Wash up
36:26At the house
36:27And then
36:27Head to the barn
36:28Yeah
36:28Great
36:29I'm going to get in the truck
36:30And head back to the cabin
36:31Alright
36:33You can take
36:33Oh
36:34Sure
36:35This
36:35Alright well
36:37Good night friend
36:40Good night
36:40Friend
36:43Come here
36:55Oh
36:56Hello
36:57Oh
37:01Oh
37:01Friends.
37:19Friends.
37:23Friends!
37:25Colin?
37:27She is asleep in a barn
37:30by herself.
37:32What would your mother think
37:34if she knew this?
37:36You know what?
37:37He's not even that good looking.
37:38No matter how many times
37:40Ciro thinks he catches me
37:41checking him out.
37:42He's not.
37:45He's so amazing, though.
37:47He just doesn't see it.
37:49He saved entire families out there.
37:55He helped rebuild my house.
38:00Friends, my friends.
38:10That's it.
38:24Go on!
38:25Go on!
38:27Lauren?
38:43Hello?
38:45Hey, Colin.
38:46It's me.
38:46It's Lauren.
38:48Um, why aren't you answering your door?
38:50Wait, you're at my place?
38:53Wait, you're not at your place?
38:54No, no, I'm at your place.
38:56What are you doing there?
38:58I, uh...
39:00I was worried about you.
39:03Yeah.
39:04You started coming.
39:06Check on you.
39:06What are you doing at my place?
39:08I got scared.
39:10Uh, yeah, I just...
39:11I was scared staying in the creepy barn by myself.
39:13You said it wasn't creepy.
39:15No, I know, but it turns out it is.
39:17Well...
39:18You're at my place, I'm at your place.
39:23Yeah, that's pretty funny.
39:25Why don't you just...
39:26Why don't you just crash at my place tonight,
39:28and I'll stay here.
39:31Yeah, no, that, um...
39:32That sounds great.
39:35Very reasonable.
39:36Yeah.
39:36Um, the, um...
39:39The key to the front door is there on the window seal.
39:42Well, we'll all have a big laugh about this tomorrow, Lauren.
39:46I know.
39:48Okay, goodnight, Colin.
39:50It's my sleep, Lauren.
39:51Thank you, Lauren.
40:10Wow.
40:12I remember this.
40:32Who's got Beyoncé?
40:46You can't do this.
40:49Dancer?
41:11Is this you, buddy?
41:12What are you doing, Colin?
41:21Sleeping in a pink frilly bed.
41:23That's what you're doing.
41:24That's what you're doing.
41:24Lauren?
41:38What are you doing here?
41:43I came here to talk to you.
41:46Okay.
41:48Is everything all right?
41:51No, actually, it's not.
41:53Okay.
41:55I...
41:56I really like you, Colin.
41:58I really like you.
42:02And actually, I came to apologize to you, too, for hating you all of those years after that
42:09stupid day at the picnic.
42:11Because I was just embarrassed.
42:13And I was really insecure.
42:15And I spent years trying to avoid you thinking that you were this horrible person, even though
42:20you're not at all.
42:21I was a horrible person.
42:26You're not a horrible person, Colin.
42:29You are smart.
42:31Right?
42:32You're kind.
42:33You're a leader.
42:35And, okay, I saw the furniture in your house.
42:38Wow.
42:39Talk about talented.
42:41And you listen to me.
42:42You care about what I have to say.
42:48You care about other people, Colin.
42:50Do you know how rare that is?
42:55I like you.
42:58And if I'm being honest, I think you like me, too.
43:03Lauren, you have a fiancé.
43:06I mean, I saw his pictures up in your bedroom.
43:10Your barn room.
43:11Whatever.
43:13You two seem incredibly happy together.
43:15I mean, you deserve him.
43:18All right?
43:18Because I was awful.
43:20No, you were just pushing me away like you're doing right now.
43:23Lauren, how could I not like you?
43:26Tell me.
43:29You're at the top of the class.
43:32The best catch.
43:33The most beautiful woman in town.
43:35You dedicate your whole life to helping children.
43:39You're smart.
43:41Talented.
43:41You're an absolute boss with a nail gun.
43:45You give back to other people.
43:47And you deserve the best.
43:50And Lauren, that's not me.
43:53History has shown that.
43:54It's not me.
43:56You deserve Dane.
43:57I broke up with Dane.
44:00I broke up with Dane.
44:01When?
44:04That day that he brought the crew over and I asked him not to.
44:08Why did you do that, Lauren?
44:10My gut.
44:13And because he never listened to me.
44:14Why don't you say something sooner?
44:17Because I was so tired of relationships, Colin.
44:23You know?
44:24And then there's this incredible guy standing right in front of me.
44:29And...
44:29And I couldn't help but fall for him.
44:41Colin...
44:41I think I'm falling in love with you.
44:46I...
44:56I can't do this.
45:00I'm sorry.
45:00I thought I could.
45:02But I can't.
45:02I can't.
45:02I don't want to do something I can't take back.
45:23Don't want to leave without seeing you.
45:28I can't bear to look in your eyes.
45:36All I see is the road that I didn't choose.
45:43In another lifetime.
45:48In some forgotten dream.
45:51In another lifetime.
45:54Maybe it was meant to be.
46:04In another lifetime.
46:11Sometimes I wonder where I'd end up.
46:18If I follow the star game trail.
46:24Into the unknown years we've planned.
46:31Living ghosts of a life that could have been.
46:36Dancer?
46:44What are you doing here, buddy?
46:47Is Lauren here?
46:48Lauren!
46:51It's a runoff again.
46:57What do you need?
46:58Yeah, um...
46:59Dancer's actually here at my place.
47:02Sorry about that.
47:03No, no, it's fine.
47:04You're just supposed to run off again.
47:08Um...
47:08Listen, if you want, I could, um...
47:12You know, bring him back to your place.
47:15Could you drop him at my friend Paige's?
47:17Paige's book?
47:18Yeah.
47:18Yeah.
47:19That's...
47:19That's fine.
47:21Um...
47:24Lauren, listen.
47:33Paige!
47:34Hey.
47:35Dancer!
47:36You've been on your adventures again.
47:38Yes, yes.
47:39I'll keep him until Lauren gets back from teaching.
47:41Thanks.
47:43Paige...
47:44Could you tell Lauren something for me?
47:48Tell Lauren what?
47:49Could you tell Lauren just to get this dog a leash?
47:52Thanks.
48:03Oh, my God!
48:04What?
48:04Answer, I don't have time.
48:31What, am I interrupting?
48:37No.
48:38It's not your dog, though.
48:40All right.
48:42What's going on?
48:44You know, calling for a smart guy, you can be pretty dumb sometimes.
48:49Man, you can't blame your dad for everything.
48:52I can blame him for a lot.
48:54Come on.
48:55Just talk to her.
48:57Okay?
48:57Tell her how you feel.
48:59She doesn't want to talk to me.
49:01She doesn't want to see me.
49:02That ship has sailed, my friend.
49:05Well, that's not necessarily true.
49:08What do you mean?
49:09Building her house.
49:11When you're together, there's like a...
49:13There's a vibe.
49:15There's a vibe?
49:16Yeah, I woke up in high school.
49:18A vibe?
49:18It's serious.
49:19It's just my gut, but I think there's still a chance, man.
49:22You don't understand, Zero.
49:25You won't ever understand.
49:27No, Colin.
49:28You don't understand.
49:31What are you doing?
49:34Big guts.
49:37Sutter!
49:38Hey, buddy.
49:39Hey, listen.
49:40Not your turn to talk.
49:42We've known Lauren's family for what?
49:4440, 50 years?
49:45I know, Sutter.
49:46I'm not knowing.
49:47Listen, listen.
49:47You were a teenager when we moved back here from Georgia, and since then, there's only been
49:53one woman.
49:54Only one.
49:56Lauren.
49:57The problem is, you think you're not good enough, but it's not true.
50:02Sutter, what Dad did was...
50:03Listen, shut up.
50:04I'm not talking about Dad.
50:05I'm talking about you.
50:07You're a good man.
50:09You always have been.
50:12I don't need to tell you what Mom and Dad went through when they were...
50:15Listen, hold on.
50:16Mom, she talks more about the good years than the bad years.
50:20With what happened to Mom, I promised her I would never hurt somebody like Dad hurt her.
50:27And you won't.
50:29You won't.
50:30You are not Dad.
50:34Tell me about Lauren.
50:35What?
50:36Well, I can't stop thinking about her, if that's what you mean.
50:40I, uh...
50:42I...
50:44I just want to be with her.
50:48All the time.
50:49I mean, seeing...
50:51Seeing that girl accomplish something, it's...
50:54Something, behold, she gets this smile on her face.
50:57You know, it's...
50:59Sutter, I can't stop thinking about her.
51:04Well, there she is, teaching a bunch of third graders.
51:07And there's a man on his way to maybe take her away from me forever.
51:11Do you really love her?
51:12With all my heart.
51:14Yeah.
51:15Then don't let Dad's behavior stop you
51:18from maybe being with her forever.
51:21Can I show you something?
51:23I'll put it up.
51:24I made that.
51:25You made this?
51:26I ain't surprised.
51:27It's what I do.
51:28Wow.
51:29Think she'll like it?
51:30Yeah.
51:31Think it'll fit?
51:32You don't know if you don't try.
51:38You're right.
51:39Let's go.
51:45How's my Lauren?
51:47Dane, what are you doing here?
51:49I came to apologize.
51:50I want to make this work.
51:52Me and you.
51:54Dane, we talked about this.
51:56You were right.
51:57I should have listened to you.
51:59I should never have sent those guys to build your house for you
52:01or sent you that furniture or that Italian marble tile.
52:05It's just my way of taking care of you.
52:07And yet you took this long to get here.
52:10You chose your job, Dane.
52:13Look.
52:14Look, I'm here now.
52:15I don't want to make this work.
52:17I am listening.
52:19But it's so much more than that.
52:22You know, after the storm hit, I realized what's important to me.
52:30And I also realized what's important to you.
52:33And those two things just aren't the same.
52:40I love you.
52:40And I loved you.
52:43But your life is all condos, right?
52:47And big city living.
52:48And I'm all little kids.
52:50We can make this place work.
52:51We're going to get a place here.
52:53We're going to buy a home.
52:55And you're going to design it.
52:56And it's going to be fantastic.
52:58I already have a house here.
52:59I have a home, actually.
53:02A home that I built myself.
53:07I'm sorry, Dane.
53:10No, Lauren, I'm sorry.
53:35Lauren!
53:35I'm sorry for pushing you away five years ago.
53:49Lauren, you're the most amazing woman I've ever met.
53:52Ever since I was a kid, I was always my best when I was with you.
54:01And I'm a better man when I am with you.
54:04Lauren, I've got to spend the rest of my life with you.
54:10I made you something.
54:11Lauren Christensen, would you marry me?
54:21Yes.
54:22Yes, I will.
54:29Oh.
54:30It's beautiful.
54:32It's so beautiful.
54:33It's so beautiful.
54:33Oh, my gosh.
54:39That was so romantic.
54:42That is the most beautiful ring I've ever seen.
54:44Right?
54:45Here, take a picture.
54:47Oh, shoot.
54:54I think she liked the ring.
54:55Our boy finally did it.
55:00Oh.
55:00Oh.
