Los actores Jesse Eisenberg y Justice Smith visitaron la ciudad de Miami para promocionar su más reciente largometraje "Now You See Me, Now You Don´t", la tercera entrega de la aclamada franquicia de robos e ilusiones
00:00Amigos de Ayer a las Américas, me encuentro con Jesse Eisenberg y con Justice Smith, protagonistas de Now You See Me, Now You Don't.
00:10It's been 10 years since The Horseman last appeared. It is very good to be back. So got it.
00:16Jesse, it's not common for an actor to reprise a role three times.
00:22Yes.
00:23Daniel Atlas started like a leader, now he's like a mentor, he's like passing the baton to a new generation.
00:30What is Jesse putting in their personal experience into Daniel in this new chapter?
00:38What a nice question. About three days ago, my child, who's eight years old, we play games together to guess flags around the country, around the world, country flags.
00:49And my kid for the first time beat me. And my initial feeling was like, oh, strange, I didn't ever thought my kid would beat me.
00:56You know, and that's a little bit like what's happening in the movie, you know, because I'm, you know, a father now, so I have all the, I'm trying to, I want my son to be, you know, better than me.
01:04And was a little irritated when he was. But that's like what's happening in the movie. Like these young magicians come and they're amazing magicians.
01:12Uh, but at the same time, like, uh, you know, um, it's a little, a little tough to handle.
01:17You have three days to prepare a trick.
01:20Bigger and better than anything you have ever seen.
01:23Justice, your character goes to introvert, starstruck with this magician.
01:28And he suddenly, when the story development, turns into a showman.
01:33Mm-hmm.
01:33When you read the screenplay, what elements draw your attention and make you say, I want to do this character?
01:41Um, it was less the screenplay and more the people. I was such a big fan of this cast, um, as individuals.
01:50I knew, you know, I'd been following all their careers and I was a big fan of Ruben, the director as well.
01:56I was a big fan of Zombieland growing up. Um, and so I just really wanted to, like, be in their graces and, and absorb what I can.
02:03And I learned what I can from them. And, and luckily they were, like, the nicest people I could possibly meet.
02:11Whoa, it's nothing.
02:12He's basically a computer full of useless information.
02:14A lot of sequence are very complex in terms of blocking, like, the direction is, uh, style.
02:21And also, you're doing this very complicated choreography with your hands and moving around,
02:28which was, like, the most difficult sequence to shoot.
02:31And I think the library one was, like, blowing my mind.
02:35That was really cool.
02:35Yeah, we loved it.
02:36How many times you need to...
02:38It was less than 20.
02:40Really?
02:41I thought it was 18, yeah.
02:42Yeah, that's what I think, too.
02:43I think it's 18.
02:44So basically it's this long, it's like a six-minute scene where we're all doing magic and there's no cutting.
02:49So the camera is filming.
02:52And if you screw up, you have to start from the beginning.
02:54That's not normal in movies.
02:56Normally, if you screw up, you just start from wherever you start.
02:58But, like, with this, we could not screw up.
02:59And it was really stressful.
03:01And I think...
03:01I don't know which one they used.
03:02Maybe 16?
03:04Oh, I don't know.
03:05Ruben never...
03:05Because they could only use one take, of course.
03:07I think they used maybe the 16th take.
03:09Whoa.
03:10But the first time we did it was, like, very close, wasn't it?
03:12Yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:12Yeah, it wasn't as hard as I expected.
03:14We nailed it in the first couple of takes, I think.
03:15For you, what was, like, the most challenging scenes or the most fun?
03:20The most fun and challenging scene was the same scene, which was, I had this, like, fight scene in this room that spins over and over.
03:27Like Inception, yeah.
03:28Yeah, and it was terrifying.
03:30Like, fractured my finger.
03:31It was terrifying, but also the most fun.
03:33For me, most challenging, probably the stuff, only just out of technicality in Abu Dhabi, because it was really hot there.
03:43Even at night, it was, like, incredibly hot, very humid.
03:49The most fun was, I also was kind of Abu Dhabi.
03:53Yeah.
03:54Justice had a lot of fun, but we can't say anything.
03:55Because there's a lot of amusement parks there.
