00:00Proper implementation and effective monitoring of government infra projects are well within reach,
00:05with public participation and the latest digital technology program in the mix to streamline the work process,
00:11speed up completion and eliminate acts and attempts at corruption.
00:15Hence, an interactive application or software using AI technology is in order, as our Kenneth Paciente reports.
00:25In light of the issues surrounding the alleged anomalous flood control projects,
00:29President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. himself emphasized that the government's reforms will continue to promote honesty, integrity, and accountability.
00:37Because of this, the President said that the government is now preparing the creation of a transparency portal
00:43that will provide the public access to information about government projects,
00:47including details of contractors, implementing agencies, as well as the location and status of each project.
00:54Ibig sabihin, babantayan natin ng husto, every step of the way.
01:08Para pag may nakita tayong hindi tama na gawa o against the rules and regulations,
01:16ay makikita natin kaagat at hindi na natin pababayaan na makikita lang after 2-3 years,
01:24kagaya na na nangyayari ngayon.
01:26He added that systematic reforms will also be implemented,
01:29particularly in project design, bidding and contract awarding, and payment systems,
01:34all aimed at strengthening transparency, ensuring data security,
01:38and eliminating opportunities for corruption.
02:12He also pointed out the need to effectively utilize technology, particularly artificial intelligence,
02:17which he said would be crucial in improving project monitoring
02:20and identifying irregularities both in contract processes and physical implementation.
03:04Despite these reforms, the President also underscored the important role of the public in exposing corruption.
03:10Since the launch of the Sumbong sa Pangulo website last August,
03:13the government has already received more than 20,000 reports from citizens.
03:40The Sumbong sa Pangulo website is a government initiative
03:43that allows the public to directly report any irregularities they notice
03:47in projects within their communities.
03:49Kenneth, Paciente, from the National TV for a New and Better Philippines.
