Capybara’s Are Some of the Cutest Animals in The World

00:00I am here with some capybaras we have four males and five females here and if

00:08you don't know capybaras are the largest rodent in the world a lot of people

00:12compare them to like a big guinea pig these guys are only about half grown so

00:17when they are fully grown the boys would be about 150 pounds and the females will

00:23be about 120 130 so these guys in the wild are herbivores they will eat

00:29mostly water plants and grass and so these are called full of war biscuits and

00:34full of war just means leaf eater and that's what these guys eat they are

00:38social that's kind of why they're coming around me and they're feeling very

00:41comfortable capybaras in the wild will live in groups people have seen up to a

00:46hundred but usually it's about a group of 20 to 30 they are prey animals some

00:51animals that are eaten by other animals mainly andaconda and jaguar so they

00:56definitely like to have have large numbers so they can look out for any dangers

01:02they spend most of their time in the water they do have some webbing in there

01:09which helps them swim they can stay underwater for about five minutes at a

01:13time if they need to I've been working a lot to have them come up and touch me and

01:18be comfortable being around me also it really helps in keeping them healthy

01:23rodents as you know have teeth that grow constantly so I always like to check out

01:27their teeth there we go oh munchie munchie but one of the behaviors I'm

01:34trying to do with these guys is to teach a couple of them how to walk with a

01:37harness on so they can maybe become animal ambassadors at some point so this

01:42is just a little a little clip and I've just been putting it over them just to

01:47get them used to having it on their back and the two of them have been doing

01:51really well the two males I've been working with it's really nice to build a

01:55relationship with them and to get them to be comfortable with me and of course

01:59to make them happy
