00:40How much of an effect was the knee incident?
01:1010 minutes but I wasn't about to stop and call the trainer and then come back and try to serve
01:16Down a mini break and stay in the set. So I just kept going and
01:23Maybe adrenaline but feel it at all the whole third set
01:28Then just going back to your first match when you walked on Court you had this really nice moment with the kid that
01:35He'll have with him for the rest of his life
01:37obviously you're focused on the results but how nice is it to know that you do
01:42have an impact no matter what happens on the court yeah I think regardless of
01:47who he walked out with who's gonna hit those dance moves but no it's it's cool
01:51you know I love being able to spot inspire the next generation the young
02:00kids that you can have an influence on those you know are the fans that I
02:06really love to see excited about the tennis and it's cool that to see the
02:13song the the fan base that we have in our sport get younger and younger and yeah
02:20kit that was a really special moment for sure and but yeah anytime I have
02:27interaction with kids that tournaments or practices wherever it is that are
02:33excited it makes me happy
02:36hi Ben Simon Eterno Eurosport Italy season is not over yet still one match you have
02:42few chances to to get through but I want to ask you how would you rate this 2025
02:48your season from 1 to 10 and I would like to ask you also if there is any one thing
02:56for the next season you want to improve something that you will work on that
02:59you're thinking I really want to improve here what would you pick yeah I guess
03:04so already the 1 to 10 maybe an 8 out of 10 7 or 8 I made huge improvements and
03:16strides from the year before you know what I've done kind of post US Open I haven't
03:24been happy with but the rhythm that I found in the first three quarters of the
03:29year was really good you know I'm a guy that I get into a really good rhythm when
03:34I'm playing a lot of matches and I had a lot of clarity this summer on how to play
03:40and um you know shot tolerance what shots to play at certain times I have a lot of clarity
03:46and what my identity was on the court and how I was going to win my winning formula um I'm still
03:52searching for that a little bit right now so you know this last four tournaments of the year
03:57Shanghai bottle Paris here I have been more difficult for me trying to find that um you
04:07know while feeling that like hit all the guys that I have played have been you know
04:12in form and playing great tennis and I'm competing well um just certain things that
04:18that feel very off that at this point of the year it's like you know that can't be
04:22happening um yeah for me this week it's been my forehand which you know usually a money shot
04:30for me a money maker first ball after the serve just like things that have been um a little off
04:36that make it disappointing but um a lot of things to be happy about this season
04:42hey man uh you said the first match point on a pretty heavy second ball it was not 200 but
04:50it was a massive serve on the second serve and if I read well the stats you one of the guys that
04:56decreased the uh how should I say that the um ah the um I mean you you hit hard your second ball
05:04pretty pretty uh often in my opinion do you think it's a trend that uh more and more risk is taken on
05:11the second serve I mean on on the tour and if yes are you do you feel that you are part of it is it
05:18something you want to reach the fact to to have a second serve really powerful maybe like Nick who
05:23was probably the first to do that yeah I mean I think it's something that I've always done since
05:28I was young um you know I used to hit a lot more double faults and actually be more aggressive on my
05:34second serve because I wanted to get a free point on the first serve and the second serve um so that's
05:40always kind of been my mentality more aggressive mentality when I'm whenever I'm serving whether
05:44it is first or second um to to have an advantage and I think that you know that's the mindset for
05:51for some guys and it isn't for others um but yeah I think if you look at the guys in the top 10 right
06:00now it's a lot of guys who go after the second serve have you know fast second serves that that are
06:07difficult to deal with um you know whether it's Felix or or sooner or as there have um there's
06:15there's definitely a few hi Ben congrats for your for your season of course here you have like suffered
06:23two uh big losses you have many chances but I was wondering what do you take away from this first
06:32experience here for you at the ATP finals and how nice finally will it be to come back home
06:40uh yeah you know I got a kind of a big break after um the US Open so I'm not feeling too homesick
06:49um just you know excited to be here and and the opportunity and like you said not you know
06:56the best so far week for me and um obviously that is is frustrating and disappointing um being as big
07:07of a tournament as it is but historically I haven't been the person who's come to a new place a new
07:13tournament and just done outstanding right away um I think there's a bit of a learning curve everywhere
07:19you go different tournament different atmosphere different format um that I never played in and
07:24obviously playing the best players in the world so uh for me it's just you know go back to go back
07:32to work um regardless of of how things end here you know be proud about the the season that I had and
07:39the things that I accomplished and let the things sting that I wasn't able to accomplish and that I fell
07:45short on and just be motivation for for me for next year
07:48thanks everyone
07:49thanks everyone
